2mch:Spot on. |
texazzpete:Bros, Everything I said earlier, I take back. I think my coffee is too thick this am. Imagine seeing the opposite ![]() |
texazzpete:One begins to wonder how S'Easterners tells the story of Osun. Adeleke doesn't look cerebral? ![]() |
Next2Bezee:I take this that you wished "evul" to us Osun people.... |
valentineuwakwe: ![]() |
valentineuwakwe: ![]() I won't be "sentiment"....but lay-off that "Guilder" |
I expect the mother-in-law to be matured. She could even advise on some workable arrangements, not sending her daughter to make "demands" that will threaten her marriage. Let me share a personal experience. There was this time we went on family holiday in the US with our two kids. We were hosted by my in-law for the 2weeks. There was not convenient place/time to do the "thing", except once dead in the middle of the night that I woke her up and we made sure we kept the noise out. Fast-forward the second week. My brother-in-law informed us that we was going to take the children out the whole day, movies, parks and stuffs and that myself and my wife were not "invited". He said he thought we should stay at home and have some private moments. Omo, we picked the cue fast-fast.... That was the longest and best 6-7hrs of that trip for us. We fvcked, cooked, watch movies, fvcked, played, talked & fvcked some more ![]() My brother-in-law's maturity "waoed" me ![]() |
1. The mother-in-law that came to spend two months with a young couple.......doesn't she expect that young folks with octane-level emotions will wax like it is food? 2. Your wife that is reasoning and behaving like love-making (a conjugal rite) requires the endorsement of her mother........ How can some people be sincerely foolish Send your wife to her mother, to inform her mother that.......you know what? Start making the move on your wife in her mother's presence....whether they both like it or not. In fact, behave as if you do not recognise the mother's presence at the moment. Hopefully this will trigger a discussion between you and the mother-in-law 1-on-1. The you can ask her few questions like these a. When did she become the determinant of when you make love to your wife? b. Did she expect that the two months she will spend with you, that you will not touch her daughter? Tell her to shut the door when she hears "noise" I suspect that if you yield in this case, both your mother-in-law and wife will practically run your home. |
OLAADEGBU:... and what suggests to you that my statement portrayed her story as false? |
nairalee:hmmm.... |
nairalee:And how is this relevant to the topic? |
itsme01:While you're trying to "sweeten" your narrative...pls note that Prof. Maurice Iwu is a Professor of Pharmacology and not a lawyer |
nicedayontop:Narratives like these are just useless lamentations. What solution do you propose? |
DameB:Hmm... Madam, You've mixed things up here. 1. Under reporting of barrels of oil? I don't get you here, care to elaborate? 2. "Non-stop gas flaring" has nothing to do with govt representation or non-representation..... 3. If you're referring to JV coys in 2 above, you need to understand how it works |
IamAlexander:I guess that maxim will need to be excused in this regard. The current Discos we have are saboteurs, more NEPA in a different skin or worse. |
Bros, My few tots are these; 1. The only reason people have power or control over you, especially to intimidate you is if you allow them. 2. You have done well by not involving your uncle in meeting the ED. What you simply did amounts to manning up and taking control of your situation. 3. You need to let your uncle know that you're forever grateful for the opportunity, but to navigate in the workplace is something you'll have to do yourself. Yes, you can take advise and guidance from him, but when he cannot protect you, you need to protect yourself. 4. Let your uncle realise that you cannot live under his shadow forever and that you need to separate yourself from whatever image and problem he has with the company 5. The gossips and stuffs? ignore. Concentrate and do a damn good job. Don't be found wanting on your deliverable. Work very hard in your new dept. Volunteer and win the heart of your new manager. 6. I suspect a foul culture in this place. All these "nobody has every done this or that...." culture is hog-wash. You don't need to be conformist to forge ahead. Don't allow anybody to intimidate you. If anyone who comes to discuss this matter with you or to your face, alleging you used your uncle to get a transfer, tell the person to pls mind his own business. Send a message clearly that you will not disrespect anyone and you demand not to be disrespected. |
Benekruku:He's not only focusing on the negatives, he is telling a bare-faced lies. Pray tell, how did you come about the bold & underlined? Is there any credible evidence to this assertion or as usual you just farted it out of your ass?valentineuwakwe: :Why always the disadvantages you focus on. It's good to analyse issues based in their disadvantages but yours is just so different. You never try to appreciate the plan and proffer better ways it can be enhanced and executed perfectly. Meanwhile I wonder why is it that it is the SE/SS people making the noise on behalf of Jos people? Do you have lands in Jos? How is Jos a sell-out? Do you have an ethnic-pact with Jos? |
AnanseK:Bros, They know this. They just must play the victim. The very first day this idea was communicated, the position that it is not compulsory was communicated clearly. But people must twist the narratives to appear the victim. Pray tell, how can FG forcefully take over lands in states when the laws and supreme court judgement (FG vs. Lagos) clearly establish that States are the owners of lands..... |
This woman's story is not new. I followed her story about 5-7yrs ago |
Sidneyjack:1. Umahi is a target case study for my Doc research. Hopefully I can get to interview him when my proposal gets accepted. 2. I understand his god-father (Authur Eze) asked for nothing in return but to develop the state. |
Bolustical:Bros, When Buhari renewed the term of Emefiele, the said 1. "It was on merit" 2. "Buhari is now listening" |
NigAmbassador:Ok, at this point...... it is pointless continuing this argument with you Cheers |
abnot:Bros, 1. "Salaries isn't much.....allowance makes it attractive?" What does that even mean? You mean allowances are not part of emmoluments? 2. Then the "not every staff makes it to the top" narrative sounds even ridiculous to me. In which organisation do every staff make it to the top? 3. Your GGM & GM comparative is vague. So the basis of comparison becomes people you know? 4. The underlined part is even more ridiculous. Except you want to live in denial, the monies found in Andrew Yakubu's hideout was hidden. If it was legit money, it would be in his bank account. 5. You can lay the argument of fat Profit-Sharing for bank executives.... but that is even relative. In Zenith bank for example, not even all staff are entitled to PS. The middle level Senior staff are excluded while the top level staff shares the "fats" Meanwhile, you need to know that Private Sector is not all that "Cakes and Cream". You probably would have spoken to some bankers and they tell you the lag time in their career progression, people not getting promoted in 5-6yrs; or hear promotion criteria is 48+ months. Have you considered when you are separated from banks, what do you get afterwards? Apart from your monies in pension account what else? Do banks even do share options any more? The maxim in the banking world is that "you eat both your today and tomorrow while working in a bank....afterwards OYO" I can't even go into some other written & "unwritten-yet-legit" entitlements of NNPC, NAPIMs, DPR, PPMC etc workers...... It is his choice to make like you said....but some misconceptions needs to be clarified Cheers. |
NigAmbassador:Bros, If you don't know, just admit you don't know. Employment at NNPC is not just your default mode employment. Do you know what it takes to sack an NNPC staff? |
iammiracle1:I think after 5 years |
ornicus:If things don't change, as an NNPC staff, on retirement your last salary is your monthly pension till death... |
tosindami:Bros, As someone in the Oil & Gas industry I will advise you to take your chances with NNPC, even if it means loosing out on the bank. NNPC is a job that gives you stability and some opportunities to pursue both your career & academic endeavors without impacting your job. For example most serious & ambitious NNPC & CBN staff take advantage of the leave of absence structure to pursue abroad Masters & PhD. There salaries is not stopped while they are away, and NNPC picks your study bills. For someone like you, whom I strongly believe is smart, even if you don't make the cut at the interview (which I strongly doubt), you are smart enough to get another bank job |
omohayek:Let me shape this narrative. Do you know that the cost of Pipeline from gathering area to Kaduna Refinery is almost the cost of building the refinery itself. When you now contrast that with what value (waste) has Kaduna Refinery given us over the years, you will understand why investors will not consider us serious when we come up with sentiments like these |
TSRC:Bros, Slow down. I am not against other regions have ports, but other fundamentals are at play. For example contrast this Warri has ports, but with the current security situation, virtually no importer (even an a Warri indegene importer) wants to go there. We need to solve that. Ibom is a huge prospects and receiving attention both from Govt and private investors. My point is you do not step down one of your strategic prospects (Badagry) that has received investors interest (Gas Hub [WAGPI, Oil & Gas Fabrication Hub [LADOL, SIFAZ, JAPAUL & NLNG - AFC backed consortium], regional commercial/industrial cluster [Agbara] and integration with other clusters). A substantial part of the financial investment is almost guaranteed off-shore. It could be relatively more cost/value effective when you do the numbers and projections. Consider this, why do you think LADOL insisted on Badagry as against Bayelsa for FTZ? We can do "national interest" and spread these project with judgement based on national sentiments......but it may not be sustainable. I say if a region gets the fundamentals (security, accessibility, connectivity, investments, right environments etc) right, by all means it will be self-sustainable. |
Blue3k:1. We have a pattern of loosing at arbitration; seems to our lawyers do not cover our asses during the contracting stages. In the power sector, the EMT realized it was a loss cause going to courts...... 2. I feel Badagry port should even take more priority over Lekki considering it's strategic location and accessibility all-ways. 3. Like Bismarck Rewane argued we need to consciously allow forces of free-markets to grow. The forces over time will stimulate quantum-leap development. I believe if we can get border ports built, the volumes and overflows will in turn stimulate the development inland/regional ports |
TSRC:Well, that there are "better places" needs to be proven by a holistic value-analysis. I know there's a quest to spread ports development across the country. Such must be balanced by dynamics & variables. We don't want to have the likes of "Kaduna Refinery" & Ajaokuta SRM on our hands. |
Blue3k:The both within proximity narrative does not seem a strong enough argument to me. Badagry port is of strategic importance to both local and regional corridor. It is supposed to be integrated into the Lagos - Benin-Togo-Ghana-Abijan super road-rail-ports network project to facilitate high volume commerce across these countries. If you are canceling because of quality of Port Master project, then by all means review the damn thing. A comparative analysis with other port considerations should ideally tell which one takes priority. Then have the cost and time of arbitration been factored? Sometimes it is better to agree to modify the TOR, quality & other stuffs than arbitration.... |
