Desyner:Hi Desyner, Have you completed your NYSC yet? How is my submission different from the highlighted....... hmmn! I understand your limit ![]() |
Statsocial:I also try as much as possible to shy away from ethnically laced and not well articulated arguments like this. There is not guarantee that SS/SE/SW's cohabitation will serve better economic prosperity and peace. Pray tell, how is kidnapping, pipeline vandalism and violence in the south any different from Boko Haram in the North? The North you so deride is actually the food basket of the producing South. The not too long ago "tomato crisis" gave us an insight.Desyner: :Sometimes I wonder how far this nation would have gone if it was just SS/SE/SW-though they have their differences but they would have fared far better together than this current arrangement. When we pull our natural, human resources and intellectual worth together we would have been on cruise right now. South Africa might even ve a learner. Let me share a personal experience. I had an interesting conversation with a top NPA official on why our inland ports are not working, especially Warri, Calabar etc. After the man put me through the geographically arrangements of our waters, a major challenge many of these inland ports face today is security. Warri is a major crisis period. He said no ship will dare go south, when Warri waters are badly reputed for attacks by youths, pirates and cults. These numbers are skewed this way because on the balance we are more import oriented than export. If our agribusiness revolution hits an ante, you will see the pattern skewing and SE will be the least (if not for Oil, SS would have taken that position). SE/SS should get "house" in order and promote peaceful and enabling environment for business to thrive. This is what drives the numbers up for Lagos |
Statsocial:I'm afraid it's not that simple. Except you both can back up your "population logic" with veritable stats...........Desyner: :Lol you are right. Population is one of the advantages the Nigerian economy has that is under exploited. Why do you think investors especially comodity businesses looks towards countries like Nigeria? Why do you think for example Thailand rice mills which are fast loosing their revenues as export to Nigeria is almost being wipped out, are relocating those rice mills to Nigeria? Do you think if Lagos is just 5 million people, do you think Lagos can generate 10% of the current IGR? Think of how much Lagos generates from its high population - Land use charges, consumption taxes, License renewals, PAYEE etc? Why do you think Lagos have that monstrous weight to borrow like crazy to fund their infrastructure projects? Lagos does not have natural resources that commands commercial value to make a 5 million people economy that prosperous. Lagos thrives on commerce, and population is a major catalyst. |
Abba Kyari @ background...... This guy's medal cabinet must be full |
Fawklicant:Bros, Without wasting time and energy, his assertion is unintelligent, not fact based, near myopic and regurgitating ill-conceived logic. 1. He first attacked the project as unnecessary. When he was shown "reasons" and nexus between capital infrastructural projects and attraction of investments, then he went on beating the bush trying to manipulate his earlier flawed premise 2. His assertion on the volume of vehicular movement in Osun is to say the least a ridiculous lie. Did you miss that? He claimed to be an indigene of Osun, yet his lies just shows that the closest he's gotten to Osun is on Nairaland. 3. He seeming analysis is shallow. He proposes Aregbesola should toll a road built on an already built Federal road? He wants him to toll a road when the objective is to attract "traffic", especially movement of agric products to access markets in other state. Someone asked him, how do you expect investors to come to a state with no infrastructure. 4. His contradictions are epic. His qualifications of Osun as a "poor" is based on "IGR". Meanwhile a recently published stats shows Osun as the 2nd "net wealthiest state". No wonder some people's literacy has never gone beyond nairaland. He gave examples of Lagos, yet conveniently forgot to mention that the same Lagos under Tinubu (with Aregbesola as commissioner for works) started the resurgence of it's economy basically from putting infrastructure in place. No one is blackmailing him not to make his points. When he comes into a public domain and makes arguments starting by falsehood and half-baked analysis, you expect we sheepishly applaud him? |
shervydman:I agree with you 100,000 %. We just have to make comic relief of dead brains like him |
Goke7:By my guess, school fees probably accounts for 50% of LBS's uptake. If you also factor LBS's foundation and others that come from corporate support and executive |
Prinzyy:It's humorous to have a semi-illiterate like you in a discussion regarding LBS |
Prinzyy:Wrong. The school was founded and owned by African Leadership Foundation.........and not any flat head in your imaginationagbarisocket: :the school is owned by flat head. |
Kendroid:Maintenance has NEVER been LBS's problem |
LilSmith55: ![]() I been tink say na only me see am |
chachauche:.....and where did those "trains" "run to"? |
docadams::claps for you This is another major reason, but shallow minded people will refuse to face this reality |
I am surprised that the governor is making ridiculous gaffes. 1. NNPC has 4 zonal offices - Lagos, Kaduna, Warri & Portharcourt. The Niger-Delta has 2. This ideally will account for all the zones under each region 2. DPR has a Zonal Office in Eket Department of Pet. Resources, 6, Ekpene Ukpa Avenue, Eket, Akwa Ibom State. 3. The coastal Railway whose negotiation is currently being finalized has as phase1 passing from Calabar - Uyo-Aba - PortHarcourt. Is it that he's oblivious of these information. |
Ekealterego:Bros, Pls learn to say nothing, than make gaffes that make you come out more idiotic. Bismark Rewane the CEO of Financial Derivatives is one of topmost Economists in Nigeria. He has made his name before you ever made it to school. @bolded, it is also stupid to tell lies in public domain. Pls provide the link to the staff and board members of Financial Derivatives |
naijapips04:Secondly, did you just decide to appear daft for the fun of it? The stats you so boldly quoted had explanations in the link, yet, either by ignorance, self-delusion or comprehension deficit, you chose to ignore it. Exports from Nigeria jumped 69 percent year-on-year to NGN 1287.2 billion in September of 2017, mainly boosted by higher sales of crude oil (69.4 percent); other oil products (53.8 percent), manufactured goods (23.4 percent), raw material (617 percent) and agricultural (160 percent). Main export partners were: India (17.4 percent), the US (13.9 percent), Spain (10 percent) and Netherlands (6.8 percent). Considering the third quarter of the year, exports increased 53.9 percent. Exports in Nigeria averaged 383477.30 NGN Millions from 1981 until 2017, reaching an all time high of 2648881.76 NGN Millions in December of 2011 and a record low of 322.93 NGN Millions in February of 1983.My concern is not you or your limited capacity, my concern is the foolish ones you're leading astray with your crap. |
naijapips04:Did you read the same topic you created? It says "Agro exports..." You mean you created a topic called Agro export and used another data (Nigeria Export) "make a point"? Is that not the height of ignorance? Is it that you do not know the difference between Agro export and any other export ? Or where you under "the influence" ? |
naijapips04:1. Am I doubting the data? Why should I doubt a data that you misapplied and you're confused about? 2. What's my grouse? None. Had you demonstrated "basic intelligence", I would have been concerned about (1) above |
naijapips04:The "truth" that you are putting out is simply how shallow you are |
naijapips04:So that is you grouse? and you decided to either be disingenous, economical with facts and demonstrate shallow mindedness by being incapable of using the right data and even misinterpret even the wrong data that you choose to use? I see that you belong to the GEJ's clueless clan |
babadee1:This may not be totally correct. Tinubu's govt in partnership with Enron & Yinka Folawiyo actually built that IPP back then. The challenges they faced were many, some of which include 1. The output went straight to the grid and Lagosians hardly benefitted from it. I guess that was why Fashola concentrated on building IPPs that fed directly to local infrastructures 2. The unit production cost of power was way much higher than the market price, and FG was hesitant to subsidise 3. OBJ never wanted that project to see the light of the day. I think it was the phase 2 of the project that he killed. Word on the street had it that OBJ mentioned to a confidant that if they allow the phase 2 to come to life, PDP's aspiration of taking over SW is toast |
MrMcJay:so what has the bureau said on rice? I thought you would have posted that to boost your "point" |
naijapips04:Responding to empty heads like your type is at the risk of a waste of valueable time. Let me make a last attempt.....if it's of any value. 1. The story was from Tin Can port reports. See below....that's if you can read and process it Tin Can records 150% increase in agro exports2. You pasted a stats/graph that has almost no bearing with what was reported in context. You graph is about total exports. It is interesting that you do not even understand the graph you pasted, neither do you understand the context of the increase in Agro export (obviously by your lame responses and ridiculous GTBank analogy). 3. Some of you need to lay low as you're needlesssly demonstrating ignorance "at the speed of light" regards |
OP just showed himself as dumb. The statement said "Agro exports through Tin Can port", you came up with a chart that showed "Nigeria Exports". I don't know how some of you are bereft of sound comprehension. The chart you showed represents total exports of which Crude oil makes the most of it. |
doctokwus:While I also agree that @tdayof's submission of Bovas refining their oil and selling is hardly correct, it's important to backup your "in for a shocker" assertion with veritable fact and economic analysis...... Or should we take this as another typical NL "chest beating"?today of: It's not always about propaganda. You said the price won't get less than 145 if Dangote refinery commence work and I showed you an instant of a filling station that refines her self and still sells at #143.I am therefore asking you, where is the oil this magical station is producing and selling at N143. |
agabaI23:Bros, I am not interested in this NL's "childish sentiments". When Innoson & GTBank keep kissing and making up, you will understand |
agabaI23:Rest assured, I have sufficient information and argument on both sides. I find the flow of discourse on NL on this issue as childish and not intellectually stimulating enough, so I have restricted my comments. |
With this video, I am disturbed that Majek is still in the wrong hands |
geometricaxis:Bros, When I watched the video, I could not believe the woman would make such a ridiculous statement. I am tempted to believe that the "strategy" to whip up ethnically-laced sentiment actually started from Chief Innocent Chukwuma and his family. This is why during an arrest police reads you your right, especially the parts that tells you ".....anything you say will be used against you in the court of law" Secondly, two wrongs don't make a right. The EFCC official that retorted in the affirmative (either as a cynical comment or otherwise) is also unprofessional. The slap (if true) is uncalled for. |
agabaI23:Bros, There has been many versions sponsored in the media and social media on both sides. Amanda Chisom is who and which authority that we will rely on her facebook post? My simple take is let all parties defend their position with veritable facts. These sentiments, ethnically laced and conjoured pictures and political coloration is as useless as it comes. |
NgeneUkwenu:erunz: :So the 2Billion contributed by the NPA Is from Nnamdi KANU? The tax relief granted to Dangote to enable contribute to the construction of the road is being done by Jonathan? ![]() Madam, You no go kill pesin!!!!! Why are you making him look "sincerely daft" ![]() |
