The terrorists referred to as bandits by the government are having a field day in the north. The sanctity of Nigerian lives does not count anymore. When those who deserve punishment are pampered for political reasons, the law abiding citizens will be at the mercy of these pampered terrorists. Somalia will have better security than Nigeria if we continue at this rate. There is no better indicator of failure of state than the breakdown of law and order. Nigerians are urged by the government to forgive terrorists who the government claims have repented and the country continuosly bleeds in the hands of these murderers. Repentance without remorse and attitudinal change is deceit. |

This is not an enviable remark. This government is breaking records in incompetence. By 2023, we will be in Guinness book of world records as the country with the richest politicians and the poorest citizens. |
Lies cannot be sustained over time. This government denied the payment of subsidy in the previous regime but today they speak from both sides of the mouth concerning subsidy payment. There was a Country indeed!! |
This Hisbah madness is getting to its climax in Kano. Is the Sharia law superior to Nigerian constitution? This can only happen in a country where Things are Falling Apart and are No Longer at Ease. Indeed There was a Country. Achebe must be smiling in his grave because he saw the "tomorrow" of Nigeria. The citadel of learning has come under the scrutiny of men who can hardly introduce themselves. The activities of Hisbah in Kano is an aberration to the sanctity of Nigerian constitution. This country is in urgent need of purposeful leadership. |
Party of denials |
So sad. May his soul rest in peace. |
So sad |
Security has faded away from this Country. |
I hope they were not grazing on people's farms. They seem to enjoy immunity from government prosecution when they slaughter farmers and destroy their crops but are readily protected by government when there is retaliation against them. The government must be seen to be fair and neutral in handling conflicts that involves the herdsmen in Nigeria. |
Thanks Senator Sani for your suggestions. The government has not demonstrated the will to fight these insurgents to a standstill. Since they still consider Amnesty as an option for terrorists, the local language will only be useful for Ransome negotiation. |
House of Commotion. |
This is only possible in a country where productivity of goods and services does not matter. Other nations are doubling their efforts to make up for the lost time during the lock down, our government is still extending the holidays of public servants to curtail the spread of the viruses. The questions begging for answers are: Apart from government offices, can't these workers still contact it in their crowded business places or are they observing social distancing at home? Levels 13 and above that should be reporting to the office, are they immune to the virus by virtue of their rank? If salary is paid hourly or based on daily output, can't the government put measures in place to ensure that these workers remain in their work places while taking precautions against the pandemic? Private companies have put preventive and precautionary measures in place to prevent the spread while encouraging production. At this rate, it will take eternity for our economy to recover from this pandemic.. it's free salary for many who "work from home" without electricity and internet connections. We are indeed unique. |
I hope this is a big joke. On what basis is the FG paying 4.5 billion naira to these people. If that is confirmed to be true, then the country is gradually fading away. |
The body language of some northern governors supports his claims. This bloody connivance may drive away investment completely from the north. I still do not know what the bandits ( terrorists) are fighting for apart from mouth watering ransome. |
It is not befitting of his status to hide the identity of criminals and terrorists. He should reveal their identity, after all nothing shocks us anymore in Nigeria. If he he doesn't reveal their identity, then he can also be seen as an accomplice. |
Have the bandits been operating from the air? Even the state's mines officer who regulates mining in the state cannot visit these remote mining sites often paraded by bandits. If the government is willing to exterminate these terrorists, they should take the battle to their hideouts and stop all these no fly zone proclamation. We want to see the bombing of terrorists/ bandits hideouts in the north. |
These are surely not good signs of a bright United future for Nigeria. The government should rise to the challenge of good governance. |
Failure of the federal security to protect lives and property gave rise to these groups to protect their communities. It is only a tree that heard that it will be cut and still remain where it was. Self defense is a basic human right especially when those saddled with the responsibility to protect the people are not doing so.. |
Time will tell |
Thank God you killed it. |
You don't need a degree to know how to operate an AK 47. They should call the murderous members of their association to order and stop the blood letting. This claim of photoshop and illiteracy among the herders is stale. |
Every day for the thief and one day for the owner of the house. |
There is no way the economy will improve when insecurity is the order of the day in Nigeria. Investors are leaving in droves, foreigners are avoiding Nigeria in their business dealings and the best brains are leaving to greener and safer pastures. The future of Nigeria is under siege. |
This country is drifting dangerously |
Banditry has become a lucrative business up north and a dangerous political strategy to acquire power and raise funds. May God save Nigeria. |
If some herdsmen can pass police and military check points with AK-47 without being challenged, it will be easy to pass such weapons from one hand to the other among them.. Segregative enforcement of Nigerian laws brought us to this point. Gun in the hands of a herdsman is for self defence while a farmer's cutlass is tendered as evidence of deadly weapon in Nigeria. |
For how long will this rescue mission last in Nigeria? It seems there is no plan by the government to confront these terrorists referred to as bandits and herdsmen. Let them continue to negotiate and pay huge Ransome to terrorists. This has become a lucrative business that will drive every investor away from this country. It's only in Nigeria that terrorists are pampered and negotiated with. Sad!! |
These senators are crying out now because it is happening in their constituency. If the president is to contest again for that seat, they will still vote for him so that they will also retain their seats. They have never used their powers to show their disenchantment with the president in the senate. It's all hypocrisy. It's really sad that the children were subjected to such harrowing experience. |
PDP and APC strategizing to remain in power by 2023. Nigerians must rise beyond party politics to rescue this nation from these two parties. It may be difficult but it is possible. |
I hope the governor becomes proactive than being reactionary. Operating a boarding school anywhere in the northern hinterlands now seems like a bait to attract Ransome payment to prospective bandits. Ransome payment to kidnappers by government is another conduit pipe to government treasury. The negotiations are done in the secret and payment is often denied completely. The rules of engagement here is only known by the negotiator and the pampered hoodlums. |
We have heard this condemnation several times. Life has lost its premium in this country. Deaths are just mere numbers now in Nigeria. The primary responsibility of government is the protection of lives and property. Anything outside this is an addendum. This country is like a rudderless ship adrift in the open sea. |
