Insecurity is taking a different dimension in this country. Very soon, children in the North will be afraid to go to school at all. The government must wake up from their limbo and do something. It is sad that a country led by a retired General is under siege by terrorists. The time to act is now before it becomes too late. |
They shouldn't tamper with the contributory pension of the civil servants. They have no other savings from their over- taxed salaries to sustain them. |
It is not surprising at all. When you have an army of media aids without any economic adviser, it is bound to happen. If nothing is done urgently, it will go beyond five hundred. You don't manage the economy with propaganda. |
Mr Bashir, please find out why the level of patriotism among many Nigerians is so low now. You can do anything for Nigeria now because you're still feeding from the table where the national cake is shared. Americans are passionate about their country because their country value their lives. They risked everything to rescue an American in the northeast where thousands have died and their leader did nothing. Patriotism is earned. |
Those who still believe that their political salvation lies with the APC are living in borrowed time. There is presently a battle for the soul of Nigeria and people are hallucinating with Igbo presidency through APC. If Nigeria is not restuctured, good governance, result-oriented and purpose-driven leadership will be elusive. |
My condolences to the bereaved families. Lalong is still deceiving himself with his alliance with th core north while his people are being decimated by those he is dinning with. He opposed the ban on SARS as if they have been offering protection to the endangered Plateau communities. It would have been easy for the Usman Dan Fodio jihadists to conquer the Plateau if leaders like Lalong were in charge during that jihad. |
They should work on electoral reforms and stop boring us with election dates. Diaspora voting, electronic voting, early voting as the Americans ar doing are innovations they should be thinking about. We only think about election dates in this country and not what politicians do with the mandates given to them. I hope the country will survive till then for another election. |
As far as governance is concerned, there's nothing to celebrate today. Hunger, hyperinflation, insurgency nepotism and disunity are not the hallmarks of greatness. Nigeria is 60 years today and we are still being consoled not to despair. Retirement age in Nigerian public service is 60 years If Nigeria is a public servant, will he retire happily today? |
The emphasis on the party of the senators is not necessary. Nigerian politicians are united by their desire to acquire wealth through political power. They can be members of any political party at the slightest opportunity. It is all about their interest. This regime has truly dragged Nigeria backward |
Organised labour colluded with the government to betray Nigerians. It is difficult for prices to come down in Nigeria after going up. Labour was curiously hasty in suspending the strike when the government has not started the implementation of any of their bogus palliatives. The Next Level is going to be tough for both hailers and wailers. It's really unfortunate. |
The glorious days of labour unionism is gone in Nigeria. What we have today are men who bargain with our mandate for their personal gains and future political careers. |
Uche was a very reliable defender. I enjoyed his doggedness in the backline during his playing days in the national team |
This is just a distraction from the planned strike next week. |
To whom did he pay for the land? I hope he has not scammed his new wife |
Most of them have no programs to execute if elected. They exploit the gullibility of Nigerians who do not question the political inclinations of their religious leaders. Since many Nigerians now regard political permutations as prophecies, politician throng the religious houses for endorsements. |
We have heard that before. The difference between the present government and the previous one is the belief by the present leadership that Nigerians have selective amnesia. It is embarrassing that the sixth largest crude producer in the world cannot refine a drop of crude oil. Nigerians should brace up for the rough ride to 2023. |
Simplyleo:Your obsession with IPOB has blinded your sense of objectivity. Crime should be condemned irrespective of who committed it Associating IPOB with crime will not rescue you from the dilemma of your Sai Baba. |
ishowdotgmail:Jonathan is recognised regionally and globally as an envoy for peace and democratic ideals. He is a global citizen loyal to his country's leadership. |
He delights in controversy. NBA wouldn't want to be associated with his philosophy in governance. |
The security men at the borders and our VIPs need reorientation before any other lock down if not, it will be an effort in futility. Another lock down will not reduce the spread but compliance to the safety protocols will be helpful to the fight against this virus. |
The government has been living in denial. Thank God for the CMD's determination to put the records straight. |
INEC should use the elections in Edo and Ondo to remedy the charade of 1999. Excuses are no longer tenable. This country is tired of excuses from them. |
Thuggery has become a norm in Nigerian politics. They should just concentrate their weapons on themselves and leave the gullible and impoverished electorate out of their fight for power. |
It will get to a stage in Nigeria when ability to use weapons will be an added advantage to participate in politics. It is getting bloodier by day. Has democracy failed Nigeria or has our politicians failed democracy? |
Every human problem is an opportunity for these cyber gladiators to launch an attack on their unsuspecting victims. $35 million ventilator scam in this Covid 19 pandemic era is not only a big blow to the victims but to humanity. |
FuckTheWorld:You will rant and play catch-up for a very long time. The people you are castigating are naturally ahead of you in character and learning. Hatred is a poison that kills the hater slowly without his knowledge. Bitterness of heart shortens your your lifespan. Nigeria will be a better place without people of your mindset. |
The government should provide PPEs to health workers in our hospitals. The rate of infection in the hospital's is becoming alarming. It is not enough to be addressing us everyday on the number of infected, recovered and dead persons. These men and women in our hospitals need to be protected even their allowances are not paid . We really need to face reality in this country and stop living in denial. |
BeauBragner:Please remove Racoon from that list. He is one of the reasons I still visit the politics section of Nairaland. He is not from Zone B section where the other names come from. |
We have been shocked enough. It is time to address the causes of the shocks |
When some District heads in Katsina are threatening to abandon their communities in fear of bandits, we are still talking about free local governments. The issue of security in Nigeria now is beyond rhetorics. People are dying and means of livelihood being destroyed. Security shouldn't even feature in the achievements for now. Many families are still mourning their dead. |
Nigeria my beloved country....... |
