How is that of any concern to the Igbo man? Many Igbo sons are in Igboland doing well and uplifting the region, others are scattered all over the world, it's simply who we are.

When the Igbo gets a nation, our diaspora population will come in handy as they all bring their global expertise home to Igboland to help her grow, absent of the negative policies put in place by hostile and envious groups in Nigeria, it will be just like the diaspora Jews returned to rebuild Israel.

These states have something going for them, the standard living of their people is benefecial that migrants even come over for better living. Be truthful, how benefecial is igbo-land to immigrants from neighbouring country like ghana? Don't let emotion cloud your sense of judgement my friend. The igbos have potential to become a great place, let our governors and state leaders harness these potential. Until our states start proving attractiveness for even those in diaspora, a secession today would mean building a structure or murky grounds

Even with the unhealthy baggage that sharing a nation with bitter hostile groups brings to Igboland, available stats shows that Igboland has fared better than all other Nigerian groups, I speak not out of speculation, but out of facts and formidable stats and my absolute believe in the tenacity and success driven genes upon which the very fibre of the Igbo people is built .

Look out for the rankings for the attainment of MDGs in Nigeria, Igboland seats on top of that in Nigeria, there is no better way to measure how viable a sovereign Igbo nation will be.

Further more, look out for the stat for economic viability of all the Nigerian six geo political zones, SE came second only to SS, and also consider the fact that we have parts of Igboland in SS.

So, as you see, the argument of economic viability of present Igboland in Nigeria, and it's relationship to viability of a future Igbo independent nation is DOA.

Didn't you Nigerians think that the demand for Igbo secession was borne out of Ojukwu selfish agenda?

Ojukwu is dead yet the dream lives. The idea of Igbo existence outside the same political entity with Yorubas, Northerners and Edos is one that transcends generations, and will ever live.

No method chosen or applied by Ndiigbo to form a nation independent of Yorubas, Northerners and Edos, will be acceptable to them.

It is naive for any Igbo man to think contrary, especially for Igbos who ramble like this: " I support Igbo secession, but I simply don't support Kanu methods".

Truth is, no method chosen for Igbo secession matters to Nigerians, their reaction to any call for Igbo secession, irrespective of any means chosen by the caller, remain evidently the same.

So the source of fund is dubious, if gratuitously given then the giver and the 'givee' should be held for corruption.

All wealth generated from mining the License should be ceased immediately.

Inter tribal marriage will always occur, I see nothing wrong with it, as long as naive people don't misconstrue it for a basis for unity. There are Israelis married to Arabs, it does not in anyway change the relationship between the Israeli nation and the Arabs.

Marriages are personal decisions and has no significance whatsoever in the national scheme of things as we all know that majority of Igbos will not marry from Yorubas and vice versa.

Chiwetel lady will not be the first Igbo person to marry a Yoruba, The Asagba of Asaba is married to a Yoruba woman, Chinua Achebe remained a Biafran at heart till his last breathe, rejecting honours from Nigeria severally, yet he gave his daughter to a Yoruba man for marriage.

Marriage remain an issue of the heart, nobody should read more into it. Igbo nation and Yoruba nation remain parallel lines that can never meet, as long as Nigeria remains United.

Ibaji people speak Igala, and they consider themselves Igala, though the other Igala people see them as "diluted" Igalas.

I'm a member of IbajI Facebook group and I know the people's sentiments and had interacted with lots of them.

Maybe there are boundary towns in Ibaji that speak an Igboid language, I'm not sure about that, but without any iota of doubt, I can tell you that the mainstream Ibaji is Igala in language and in life outlook.

Most Igbanke people are comfortable with the Anioma identity, but are not in any way comfortable with the Igbo tag. Out of ignorance and hear say, they assume the Igbos of the East to be as domineering as the Edos( Binis) who had been trying to Edonize them. Don't forget that Igbanke became affiliated to Bini because she was scared of Agbor dominance.

But I guess with Asaba and neighbouring Aniocha/ Oshimili clans favouring Igbo identity, Igbanke will eventually be led into the Igbo identity tag. It's a work in progress.


Also, Igbanke is not the only Ika/ Igbo speaking clan in Edo state, there are a couple of others too.
