totit:You need your head examined. No where in those stats was it indicated that Taraba or Katsina is more economically sustainable than the SE. You have lost it. ![]() The OPHID report is flawed because it is not in tandem with reality on ground. My guess on how they arrived at Osun being the least poverty stricken state is by taking cognizance of Osun formally employed populace, who were mainly employed by the government, those type of stats are easily obtained, Osun has no informal sector, everybody works for the government, giving a false impression of high employment rate, when in truth, Osun had an overbloated government work force solely dependent on ND petroldollars that came as monthly allocation, and on aggressive interest loans. If crude oil prices didn't crash, Osun would continue posting ridiculous GDP and IGR stats to cover her overbloated civil service and complete reliance on FG monthly allocation, while gullible Yorubas cheer on, but with crash in crude oil, Osun's overbloated civil service and lack of informal sector became exposed. https://www.nairaland.com/2529594/yoruba-citizens-sent-south-east Above is Osun learning the need for a robust informal sector. In contrast, the SE has a very vibrant informal sector, that would be very hard to access by Oxford, for how do you explain to them that a supposedly unemployed Igbo apprentice in Ogbete market, makes more money daily from extra charges he adds to his Oga goods than a minimum wage earning civil servant? Only a micro economics assessment that takes real cognizance of these, like the one conducted by NAPEP https://www.nairaland.com/554457/anambra-poverty-rate-lowest-nigeriaand CBN can give a better picture of poverty rate stats.: |
totit:That thread was opened by the Yoruba man Scholes0, those stats where debunked and eviscerated by Igbo contingents in that thread, by using the superior stats the MDGs :.: https://www.nairaland.com/2263635/south-east-south-west-south-south-lead-attainment And for the umpteenth time, that OPHI stat was not conducted by the UNDP or UN, it was conducted by the Oxford university, and is obviously flawed, if you really went through the thread link I provided, you would have seen why it's flawed. |
kaakulator3:No where was is stated that the North is more economically viable than SE in that thread, you have lost it. |
kaakulator3:Only SS is more economically viable than SE and the reason is not far fetched. Yes, I will keep referencing that thread, cause it dealth severely with your falsehoods, even Osun previously inflated IGR couldn't stand the test of fire, once the dwindling oil prices started biting them, Aregbesola had to come out clean to tell the world what Osun GDP is really, and why it won't be enough to sustain the state. ![]() |
Ritchiee:That research was done by Oxford university and not by UNDP, and the flaws in their research were made bare by a more authentic MDGs attainment result which is more in consonance with the reality on ground. .: https://www.nairaland.com/2263635/south-east-south-west-south-south-lead-attainment That Oxford university study was published in a UNDP report and was not conducted by UNDP or UN, and the flaws inherent in that study was well highlighted in this thread. by Igbo posters there. You can't give what you don't have. SW being less economically viable than SE cannot have lower poverty index than SE.: https://www.nairaland.com/2263635/south-east-south-west-south-south-lead-attainment https://www.nairaland.com/2418994/ranking-nigerian-states-poverty-rates/9. See Igbo contingents demolish those flawed stats there |
kaakulator3:Bla bla! Unfortunately, the facts don't bend to accommodate your fantasy, they are brutal and unforgiving, deal with them: https://www.nairaland.com/2732630 SW is the least economically viable region in the South despite having received a double share of the South allocation right from the colonial days to the Post civil war era. The shame of a nation, starring right at them, no place to hide from the harsh reality:https://www.nairaland.com/2732630 |
Ritchiee:Lol! You are the deluded one. That poverty index report was not done by UNDP and was roundly debunked and eviscerated in that thread by pazienza and other Igbo posters there. ![]() Here are real stats on the MDGs,SW as usual is competing with the North.: https://www.nairaland.com/2263635/south-east-south-west-south-south-lead-attainment You should be ashamed of your region. And yes, the below stats remain a bench mark to determining how viable SE and SW are, and not your fantasies you spread in your Ibadan-Lagos: https://www.nairaland.com/2732630 Your first link speaks of "prospects", but the above link speaks of the reality: Despite the fact the SW had engulfed greater percentage of Nigeria's commonwealth than any part of better South, SW remains least economically viable and highly indebted region. |
PentiumPro:Ikechukwu argument is laden with facts from neutral non Igbo links. All you lots have been doing was recycling you Lagos-Ibadan media propaganda who have no credible source. It's so clear to the blind that just a single Igbo warrior had you lots cornered and brutalized by veritable facts, so much that you had to resort to your Yoruba mods to ban him for no just cause ![]() |
RockHard:Ikechukwu had provided credible links to show how very little the SW produce. Apart from Cocoa, which it's return was inflated by SW propaganda media, SE beat SW in all other export cash crops. That very fact that SE is economically more viable and sustainable than SW had been proved beyond reasonable doubts by these brutal facts: https://www.nairaland.com/2732630 But in a classical drowning man syndrome, you lots won't accept you place and work to catch up to the better south, since it's obvious you lots are way backward. |
Ikechukwu, Job well done, with a well stocked Arsenal of facts and figures, you decimated their lies and propaganda and left them clutching at ad hominem attacks. What an exhilarating performance, a real Ekumeku e- war general you are, Odogwu Agu Dike! |
Ritchiee:So much lies and propaganda, yet this https://www.nairaland.com/2732630, is the reality of things. |
Enyeama is an Ibibio man, he is not Igbo speaking. So he is right to say that he is not an Igbo man, cos truly speaking, he isn't. |
"If Isiguzoro wants to be taken seriously, why not organize pro-One-Nigeria solidarity march across South East States". ![]() |
LoveDecay:So many words, yet not a single sense. |
Ritchiee:I can get 20 cholera outbreak links in different parts of Yoruba. So it's pointless. |
Good a thing he is not Igbo. No one want to be associated with a failure, after all! ![]() Keshi all the way, the Nigerian Felipe Scolari ( Won world cup with Brazil when no one saw them as favourites) ![]() |
Ritchiee:I guess you all in Yorubaland are very experienced in Diarrhoea things. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2014/05/cholera-outbreak-hits-ogun-20-hospitalised/ |
theDEVILisHERE:I tell you. The Man has no shame. He was one of the people that sang Buhari praises to high heavens and turned his back on GEJ. Now thing, are going rough for Buhari, and like a fair weather friend, he wants to bolt. Nansense! |
This thread could actually be explored, without mentioning and bringing in SW into Igbo matta! I don't know why some Igbos here felt the need to mention SW here. |
There was never a time Ndiigbo rejected Nigeria. What we rejected was an Arewa and Yoruba fancied Nigeria. We rejected Nigeria as fancied by the North and SW. And nothing has changed. |
Ohaneze Ndiigbo is simply playing to the gallery. You don't expect them to say no to one Nigeria, Ndiigbo had never said no to one Nigeria, we simply said no to the Arewa-Odua fancied one Nigeria. Our position had always been and remain a completely restructured Nigeria where each region is 100% independent of the next region and have 100% or there about control over its resources and affairs. That have never changed till now, that was a Nigeria Ojukwu demanded, and that is the only Nigeria that will stop Igbo demand for secession, everything else is waste of time. I am sure Ohanaeze and their Arewa guests are well aware of this. |
papparatzzi2013:Another propaganda with no substance. All available indices and stats show that Ogun doesn't fare better than other southern states. Ogun doesn't lead in education, she don't have better infrastructures, her IGR is not better than other southern states, her citizens doesn't have better life standard as shown by the MDGs. Ogun has nothing to show for her high debt profile, a clear sign of mismanagement and embezzlement of public fund. |
papparatzzi2013:Adeosun was the commissioner for finance in Ogun when the state allocation from the FG was at all time high, but left the state at great debt and economically less viable than states that earned less from the FG like Enugu state. Throw in Ogun's proximity to Lagos, and Adeosun's failure becomes even more glaring. It's only in Nigeria tribally charged political arena that failures like Adeosun who couldn't fix small ogun, is given a bigger job of fixing Nigeria. |
semasir:Lol! |
Gbawe:Sorry! I deal with facts and stats, not jaundiced, biased and tribally motivated opinions like the one you just copied and pasted. https://www.nairaland.com/2913833/again-south-east-leads-wassce-performance This shows that the SE has the most educated and cerebral citizens, a recipe for building a great nation. https://www.nairaland.com/2732630/lates The above shows that the SE receives the least from the FG, yet remain more economically viable than the North and SW. A factor that shows that the SE benefits least from Petrodollars, and will be relatively less hit economically Post crude oil era. : https://www.nairaland.com/2263635/south-east-south-west-south-south-lead-attainment The above shows how more advanced the SE is in uplifting her citizens than the North and SW, another pointer to why the Igbo nation will be a great independent one. https://www.nairaland.com/2522113/omitted-truth-debunking-lies...nigeria-states The above highlights how agriculturally strong the SE is, with a cerebral and educated populace, SE agricultural sector can only grow bigger. www.nairaland.com/2031155/enugu-makes-history-joins-worlds Look above, it's the great Igbo city, rising fRom the ruins of Nigerian civil war destruction, still reborn like a Phoenix, standing tall in the midst of envious Nigerian groups, showing the great Igbo resilience in the midst of adversity. You see? I deal only on stats and facts. |
. |
Hmm! Say no more. Deal with stats and facts. Only SS is economically more viable and solvent than SE, and the good news is that part of Igboland is in SS too ![]() And fun fact is, the SE receive the least amount of allocation from the FG yet remain more economically viable than regions that gulp more of the SS petroldollars in terms of direct FG allocation and projects, in addition to petroleum directly and indirectly linked public and private sector investments. What this means is that the SE more than any other Nigerian region is more prepared to adjust to life after the end of money spinning era of petroleum. https://www.nairaland.com/2732630/lates Now, in the light of the above fact and stat, can we now close down this thread, and let the envious ones leak their wounds? ![]() |
"You claim you had empires that cut across Nigeria, Togo and Benin. Why are the Yorubas in these countries not outstanding to project the countries to limelight? Same situation is applicable to the Hausas, Fulanis and Kanuris in Niger, Mali, Cameroon, Ghana and some other African countries" Greater words of truth had never be spoken. It's obvious why they are clinging tight to one Nigeria, their survival as a people depend on one Nigeria. ![]() |
"Do you know that even Mandela of blessed memory for his people within the ambits of the law" Ignorance at its peak. No freedom fighter keeps the laws of the oppressors, the laws of the oppressors are usually in in direct conflict with the demand of the oppressed for freedom. Question for you, if Mandela and other ANC fighters kept the laws of the oppressors, why and how exactly did they end up in jail? And do us a favour, be proud of wherever you came from, stop claiming Igbo, Igbos don't need to shout they are Igbo. |
"These states have something going for them, the standard living of their people is benefecial that immigrants even come over for better living. Be truthful, how benefecial is igbo-land currently to immigrants from neighbouring country like ghana" What message were you trying to convey with the above line? That other parts of Nigeria are beneficial to migrants, but Igboland isn't, therefore Igboland must not be economically viable for people not to be migrating there, and since it isn't economically viable, it couldn't survive as an independent nation outside Nigeria as an entity? If the above isn't the point you were trying to pass across, correct me. |
