saddik:No you STFU. |
Donzman:No Sir! Before you insult others it is advisable to know exactly what you're talking about. A Doctoral degree is not always required to be permanently employed by a university especially for Engineering and Geology fields. |
Would you please stop talking about land mass. The important points here are standard of living, fertility and mortality rates. I won't even go into economic and commercial aspects. According to the census figures Kano has experienced high fertility rates together with low mortality rates. While during the same 15 year period, Lagos has experienced low fertility rate and high mortality rate. Land mass is not the issue. Those results go against all forms of logic as regards to human settlements from the dawn of civilization. I challenge you to look at any other country to find were the the most concentrations of people are located. You will see a pattern without a doubt. That same pattern has existed as far back as history goes. They didn't think those doctored figures through properly. If they wanted to relase false figures, they should have come up with more acceptable figures. |
*Yawn* |
davidylan:This is the part I don't understand. How someone can claim to be learned and will want to try to justify the census results as regards to Kano. it simply beats the imagination. According to the census results, Kano is the best place to live in Nigeria. The life expectancy in Kano according to the figures will match that of countries in the West with a corresponding massive explosion in fertility rates. So they would have us believe over the last fifteen years, Kano has had the best medical facilities, best supply of food and water. Kano State has the highest standard of living in Nigeria (comparable with Western Countries). Basically, according to the census, People don't die in Kano until they are in their late 70s and above. What the Hell? |
Donzman:That's not true. Certainly not of the UK. You don't even need to have a postgraduate degree to lecture in a University. |
Report the fuel station to your local DPR |
Lagos has already rejected the results. The official NPC figures will have us believe Lagosians suddenly experienced a dip in Birth rates and a simultaneous increase in death rates while the North experienced Large Birth rates and Low Deaths rates within the same 15 year period. That's the only logical explanation. Migration of people before the census cannot explain the large number gap. That amount of people migrating before the census would have caused chaos, especially as airports were all but deserted. |
Arguments are lame? Ok let's have you consider this, http://64.233.167.104/search?q=cache:d8blThXvxKcJ:www.un.org/esa/population/pubsarchive/urbanization/urbanization.pdf+un+%2B+lagos+population&hl=en&gl=uk&ct=clnk&cd=2 (Scroll down to number 20, 21, and then view the population tables) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cities_by_population http://www.clickafrique.com/Magazine/ST014/CP0000001488.aspx http://geography.about.com/od/urbaneconomicgeography/a/agglomerations.htm?rd=1 Kano and Jigawa = total growth rate of 143% => combined yearly growth rate of about 19%? *rolleyes* Lagos (Commercial and economic centre of the country) = total growth rate of about 59% => yearly growth rate of approx. 4% By those figures Kano will be one of the most populous cities on Earth by 2020. They must think us to be absolute fools. |
I don't know how anyone can attempt to justify the released census figures for Lagos. It's lunacy, absolute lunacy. |
I can't find it on your site. |
Those are hugely expensive for the corresponding amount of electricity they will genenrate. That cost will then be passed onto the consumer. I highly doubt the average nigerian consumer can afford it. |
Didn't Virgin Nigeria try twice to get clearance to fly this route? From what I remember, they were turned down by the US because of the involvement of Virgin in the Airline. |
Bialegend:Actually it should read, Is it true? "Kano has a higher population than Lagos". Not "More". ![]() |
Sista:^ LOL *rolleyes* |
Breaking News: (Guardian) "Lagos rejects census figures The Lagos State Government has rejected the results of the 2006 National Population Census figure allotted to Lagos, stating that the Lagos States population is more than the figure released by the National Population Commission. The state Commissioner for Special Duties and Intergovernmental Relations, Chief Dele Ajomole said this on Wednesday in a telephone conversation. The Federal Government had on Tuesday approved 140 million as the total population of people living in Nigeria out of which Lagos State had 9,013,634.However, Ajomole stated that the figure allotted to Lagos State was smaller compared to what the state government had enumerated, adding that the government outrightly rejected it. The commissioner said that the state was able to enumerate 4.9 million houses during the census with at least three people living in each of the houses." If three people live in a house and we have 4.9 million houses, definitely the population will be about 13 million. Definitely the NPCs results cannot be right. We reject it," he said. Ajomole explained that there were houses where more than 10 people live in but that he had estimated it to be three so as not to exaggerate the figure" |

McKren:Excellent, you understand this point. Now you'll agree that those same corrupt leaders could very easily be dictators in power with no opposition. Now a dictator will have the ability to rule till he/she is removed by a force of Nature or Man? An example of such a person is Gadaffi. He may not be corrupt. What if he were though. Then the people of Libya are stuck with him till he dies. What if Obasanjo were to squash all opposition. Outlaw political parties and turn the leadership of the country into a family affair. Basically the current ruling class will stay there until they die. You still think that kind of government is better than a democracy? Give it a sec, it will come to you. |
No. But you should resign the position you achieved through that party before switching to another. |
edisco:*rolleyes* Another one that believes Atiku stopped "third term" |
If this plan is real I very much doubt the press would know about it in spite of whatever sources they think they have in the IDF. |
McKren:Ignorance they say is bliss. ------------------------------- I refuse to believe the Iraqi government has no clue of what it wants. It wanted Saddam executed, and it executed him. Plain and simple. |
LoverBwoy:A bit like California. |
shango:I don't know about 60 million Hausa's but, many people of Northern origin who leave in the South travelled back to the North to be counted there during the census. I remember reading that truck loads of people where travelling to the North just before the census started. That could explain why there would be more people than you see on your travels to Northern States. |
Coco29:Blind leading the blind as they say. Your kind should truely stay together and talk together. Stop traumatising normal people with your deluded outbursts. Have a fun retarded email chart. |
It's not hot air. BA have been suspended before and they lost a huge amount of revenue. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/africa/6234675.stm But British Airways says it is "very distressed" by the comments. "We will be visiting the minister personally next week to address his concerns," a British Airways spokesperson told the BBC News website. --- A spat between the Nigerian government under the former dictator Sani Abacha in 1997, led to BA's flights being suspended for several months, leading to huge losses for the airline. |
The US didn't kill him. He was killed by the Iraqi government. |
Now you are saying Saddam was murdered? I hope the next mass murderers of our generation are listening. This is how to have your cake and eat it. You can satisfy your lust for murder or power via whatever means so long as you hold two fingers up to the "Establishment" there will always be people willing to fight for you in Death. I guess it's like they say. "Life's wasted on the living." |
If the government is to blame for everything, where then does our government come from? Do they just magically appear and become politicians? Who supports them? Who helps them wield their power? Isn't the answer the people? So yeah, I agree. A large number of Nigerians are the problem with Nigeria. |
And Cross River has a budget that is smaller than some Northern States. Not to mention other oil producing states. So where does all that oil money go in those states? |
Donzman:Lol was thinking the exact same thing. |
