Real Madrid CF is an arrogant club. From the players to club president and they all have no regards for clubs, players, the Spanish national team and managers. See the way Perez mishandled the Lopetegui affair costing Spain a possible World Cup win. See the way the players were arrogant saying they can do fine without Ronaldo and even resented him for supposedly stealing their shine. The fans, players and president had no respect for Ronaldo despite all he contributed to the club. Madrid don't even treat some of their club legends with respect. The fans think they can determine what happens in the squad and easily turn their back on their star players when they don't perform.

To makes things worse, they replaced Ronaldo with a bunch of players who are not fit to tie the lace of Ivan Rakitic and easily gave away his number 7 jersey after his departure -- what arrogance and disrespect. The players and fans saw nothing wrong with it; thought it was okay and thought they could still perform at the top level without Ronaldo despite having to face Lionel Messi in the league and Copa del Rey. They thought the overrated ballon d'or winning Modric, lazy Benzema, injury prone and inconsistent Bale, rash Ramos, Isco, Asensio, others and the bunch of new replacements would do the trick even without Zidane and Ronaldo. How arrogant and disrespectful to the G.O.A.T(Ronaldo), the Spanish national team and other top teams (like Barcelona) who work hard in tactics and management and squad build up.

Let's talk about Ramos who purposely got a yellow card thinking Ajax was a walk over and he would certainly return in the quarter final. Real Madrid CF is an arrogant club and they got what they deserve. Hope Bale and Benzema have started performing since Ronaldo is no longer "stealing their shine." Hope Madrid is now playing more like team since Ronaldo is no longer disrupting with his "selfish one man show" undecided . Of course they are playing like a team -- team in the art of failure. You will never see Barcelona players complain about Messi stealing all the shine but for Madrid players, na only dem waka come. Mtewwwww

Edit: Perez is the reason why the galacticos never achieved any thing for years. He sold Makelele, their top defensive midfielder, to Chelsea FC when he complained about his meagre salary and replaced him with poor Gravesen and unknown subpar players over the course of many years. Zidane even reacted to the sale of Makelele but it fell on deaf ears due to Perez arrogance. Funny enough Makelele's departure coincided with the fall of the galacticos and the rise of Chelsea FC from 2004 - 2007. At Chelsea FC he was better treated and properly utilised.

Madrid why are you doing this to me? I do bad thing to support una? angry angry angry cry cry

Do not cringe
Lol. Many people are dying from rejecting medicine and using faith but you don't get to see them on the news instead more focus is given to the hypocrites called moderates who conveniently interpret the scripture to their convenience because everyone wants to hear that christianity is good and harmless. This suits people's feelings even though it's at the expense of reality.

I remember when I started taking this faith thing seriously and started getting involved in new generational churches, I decided to apply my faith to cure malaria. I snubbed my antimalarial for faith and I kid you not. What saved me was that I was at home due to the holiday and the excited me told my mum about my so called works of faith. There was fire on the mountain grin. My mum went hysterical and was pleading with me take my medication but I stood my ground and was wondering why my mum, being a christian, wasn't in support of my action, the irony. I later took my drugs after being talked into it by my cell leader who said "For peace to reign, obey your mum. It's not the drug that would heal you, it's Jesus." Can you imagine. This was many years ago and I wondered what would have happened if I was in the hostel and away from my mum's supervision. I was a small boy then and being an introvert and growing up in a household that is full of heavy (I really meany heavy) indoctrination into believing spiritual stuffs didn't help matters.

My mum hypocrisy got me wondering. Why would this woman who claim to be a christian and heavily believes in spiritual stuff act as if faith is magical thinking? I sensed this same hypocrisy in all christians I knew. It was always the same "we believe in god" but acting and thinking like god doesn't exist. I later started mixing out with people, joined nairaland and started observing human life. I came to the conclusion that despite the so much noise about god's existence and power, nature always took it's course regardless of what we believe. Religious people who have terminal cancer always end up dying. As a medical student then, I once asked myself "why am I studying medicine if there is faith healing?" grin Mehn, I was a young boy then and I did many stupid stuff because of the bible. Now, I am matured and I am an atheist. Exposure helps. The first set of atheists I came across on nairaland were Donffd (will never forget him), edibleketara and some others. They ganged up against me in one thread to argue against my religious beliefs. grin cheesy

Anyways, religious beliefs are not harmless. To survive, man needs the truth so as to make realistic approaches to solve his problems. Unrealist approaches can be dangerous. This is why I bash and debunk religious claims and why I am an anti-theist. undecided

LoL! Stop trying to be too clever by half. The bible does not say the god killed itself, it says the god offered Jesus who is also god as a sacrifice for sin, it doesn't take a genius to see the connection between that and the god killed itself.
Don't mind him. This is why I wrote in my op "Even when the christian scholar tries to give sense to the trinity, his arguments are always self-defeating."

Ihedinobi3:
We'll take your questions one at a time.

i) Why would god need to kill himself before he can forgive sins?
This is a straw man. The Bible does not teach this at all.

The Bible teaches that God cannot die but that only He can save the sinful human race, which is otherwise doomed for its sin.

In order to save the human race, God put on human flesh so that with it He could pay the price for sin. Only a human being can pay for human sins and God can't die. So, the Lord God humbled Himself to take on humanity and suffer and die with it.

The Death that bought forgiveness of sins for us was also not physical. It was spiritual. The Lord Jesus submitted Himself to three hours of agonizing spiritual Death when He was separated from spiritual fellowship with His Father and suffered the darkness, fire and bitterness of the Second Death to a degree that only God in human flesh can.

After those three hours, the Lord Jesus breathed out His human spirit to die physically. His Deity never died. Nor did He kill Himself. He suffered the full Anger of God the Father against sin in His Spiritual Death, yes, and He did yield up His human spirit in physical death too, but He did not kill Himself.

ii) Why doesn't he just forgive right away since he is the one doing the forgiving? Isn't he god?
There is an easy way to consider this. Every nation or human community has a legal system. In these legal systems, offences are spelt out with due consequences for them. Why is that done? Why do we not just forgive offences rather than punish them?

Obviously, it isn't justice at all to just forgive offences. If you do that, then why should anyone bother to keep the law? We would all break the law wherever there is no punishment for doing so. In societies where offences are not adequately and resolutely punished, the weak suffer and all manner of chaos and damage occurs.

This is the reason why God punishes sin. Forgiveness must be bought with atonement. If nobody suffers for the sins that we commit, then God is unjust to forgive us. If God is unjust, how can anyone trust His Authority? But God cannot be unjust. Therefore, He demands atonement in order to forgive sinners.

iii) If Jesus is god, how can a god die(on the cross) ? Isn't that blasphemy? So Yahweh can die?
As (i) above showed, God cannot die and did not die on the Cross. It was the human nature of the Lord Jesus that suffered both His Spiritual Death and His Physical Death on the Cross. His Deity did not suffer either.

As for the Trinity, God is One, but the Father is not the Son is not the Holy Spirit. The Father is God the same as the Son and the Holy Spirit individually are too. But they are together One God, not three.

Nobody (well, except the weird Millennial generation) complains that nations have legal systems. That there is a code of conduct complete with rewards and consequences to protect the character of the community or nation is not only taken for granted but actually demanded for by human beings. Why is this a problem when God is constituting a special nation for Himself?

Israel was God's Project. The Pentateuch (Genesis to Deuteronomy) describes His creation of that nation and the character it was supposed to have. What we read there are the laws that were to govern that nation.

The character of that nation was supposed to be God-fearing. They were supposed to be the one nation on earth where everybody served the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the biological progenitors of the people themselves. This is just the same as America characterizing herself as the land of the free and the home of the brave. The laws were therefore written around that character. Idolatry was against the law and punishable by death. The reason was that God Himself was the King of Israel and idolatry was treason. This also means that any seduction by anybody of others into idolatry was conspiracy to commit treason and was thus also punishable by death.

Every other issue about Israel's laws is to be understood the same way.

In Islam, on the other hand, Allah was not building a nation that was meant to be unique. He was merely terrorising the whole world, or more correctly, being used as an excuse by Muhammad to pursue his totalitarian plans and expansionist agenda.

You can easily see both that Israel never really pursued the empire route although, at least, under David and Solomon they had both the military and economic might to do so (Israel's authorized wars were fought for defence and to protect the nation from Gentile religious contamination), and that when the Church was called out, the Gentile believers were not forced into a homogeneous pattern of behavior or given an expansionist agenda to subdue unbelief everywhere.
Having seen your long endless illogical back and forth arguments with IAmSabrina, I think it's best for my sanity to not engage you. Bye grin
