Ebuehi was good but let's not lie about Shehu's performance to credit the guy. Shehu had nothing to do with the English targeting Ekong with pace. The left fullback was the only place being taken advantage of time and time again.
not true, Shehu exposed the central defenders too much and he never pressed forward

Would you also bench Mikel? He sucked today btw
for the first time someone had the courage to state the obvious, they said iwobi play AM, so where did mikel play ZM...Mikel was poor

You can't blame the goal keeper for every goal. Do you know how wide that post is? Factor that when you criticise him, Hve you ever played football in a standard football field?

Where was Kane when he took that shot...Distance? acceleration and speed of ball, Goal keeper's reaction...Uzoho actually reacted well. If Kane was about 3 metres away befoe he took that, Uzoho might have stopped it. What were his defenders doing? How did Kane get into that position to pull the trigger?

How many times did Nigeria get into such position against England? How many times did Nigeria hit target?

Blame the team not the keeper.
so you get all this sense before but you choose not to use it??

No one is being negative. Acknowledging fact is no negativity.

Some of you guys here don't agree this team is average.

Tbaba was arguing here the other day that this team was better than our WC 2002 squad.

All of us want Nigeria to go far and win WC, but we will not trade our objectivity for wishes.
tbaba is not arguing, this team is way better than 2002 worldcup, did you see the halftime Change. in 2002 you would be expecting to see mutiu and opabumi coming in

when i pointed out this Moses thing , somany people believe he is our joker ... i keep saying it , he 's far from it cos of the way he holds on to the ball , if we have a better option he will sit on the bench , and come in to play as a sub when opponents are tired .
if holding the ball too long is your problem with moses them you should have problem with mikel too

not when it matters please, moses was a flop in 2014, looks like it will happen again in 2018, if am rohr, moses will only be coming in second half of our games, are you aware a babatunde from no where benched moses in 2014? I see another player benching moses again, am tired of the guy abeg. onazi na confime flop, perhaps an ndidi has been covering up for him all this while
onazi had a poor game today, I'm his fan but that won't remove his good games in super eagle

My verdict after today's game

1) Joel Obi is useless: whatever story we read on this thread that Joel was impressive in camp or he is doing well in SerieA are nothing but load of hogwash. he is very useless. I'll take Agu ahead of him any time. his fans are just hyping him unnecessary here since . they said he could play DM, CM,AM,LB... They said he could play better with Mikel.. it's been 4 games now and he hasn't done sh*t.. he should be dropped..

2) Iwobi isn't a winger: I don't think we need to deliberate on this any more... its been proven already that he is ineffective from the wings...

3) 3-5-2 is the real thing: the loss of Moses Simeon is the major reason I think this formation should b our main one at d WC..

4) Ogu is a huge asset: need I say more?? sorry for those who were saying he would b dropped yesterday

5) Odogwu Mikel is still the boss...

The first half of d game was very frustrating.. When Ndidi returns,I expect to see Onazi back on the bench.

And finally,Rohr should pls drop Joel obi
where did iwobi play today?

Iwobi the winger
but this was what i was talking about, he play from the wing and drift, he does that well without crossing or doing the usual things an orthodox winger does

he was the man of the match for me and he went against what some people stated earlier that he can't close a game for 90min

don't know if am the only one noticing it, this team tends to start play with lack of confidence when they play european teams or bigger teams, It showed in games against argentina, poland, serbia and england. reason we conceded cheap and early goals. It's a shame with players like mikel, moses and others who play abroad and has faced these big players at club levels.

The Nff should do something about this urgently cos in this game, the same England that looked bigger in the first half look so small in the second half.

Are our players suffering stage fright? this is where croatia and even iceland could edge it. The boys only seem to increase in confidence in the second half and it's scaring
this is thesame thing i was thinking about, people calling onazi, joel..but they forget even almighty mikel was also poor.

i believe what happened was more of mental and psychological. we need to work on it

First of all, shocking first half.. We lost the midfield battle.. Joel Obi was getting into everyone's way. Onazi kept misplacing passes.

Ebuehi is miles ahead of Shehu, How people do not see that, is baffling...

Ogu was great.. Ogu and Etebo stabilized the middle.

Ndidi and Ogu/etebo might be our best midfield combo.

Overall, good test..

I hope Joel Obi gets dropped.
joel getting dropped wont be a surprise, he should be disappointed with him self

You need to check this players IG story, full of joy..they really blended well , i hope this continue for long!!
It will hurt me if Aina is Dropped that guy doesn't have problem, looks like someone that is jovial cool

I repeat Joel Obi is not going anywhere cheesy wink except is Rohr is blind, lol

Secondly, i want this match to End with Good score margin (3-2,2-1) it would go long way boosting the players morale and also remind the defenders and goal keeper to step up their game smiley
Aina was not invited to be jovial, if we need jovial people we know where to find them.

i hope he get ready to prove him self when it matters

Yeah! You are right.

I missed it because these players weren't first team players then.

Joel Obi met them in the team but became a starter and integral part of the team before injuries set in.
i still disagree, Echiejile was already a super eagles starter before joel came into the team, Echiejile played our 2 out of 3 worldcup match in 2010

He's the oldest capped player in the team save Mikel Obi.

a combination of Joel obi, mikel and ndidi will be a delight to behold. any day any time i rate joel ahead of onazi who with omeruo are those whom i had high hopes on when they emerged but bad career decision seem to have stunt their progression. onazi's surprise move to the Turkish league was the worst decision of his career so far, also omeruo's constant loan moves to Turkish clubs have dont been of any positive to his progression. i am not saying kenneth should fight for a place in chelsea which is impossible for now but a move to a league where his talent will be well harnessed would have done him a lot of good, and good example is awaziem's loan deal to nantes in the french league last season.
Thank God you have your opinion, joel started our last 3 matches. as a midfielder can you remember
*any forward goal scoring opportunity he created
*shot at goal on target
*beating his man

he can just be good in our lips and not in the pitch.

i want to give you a task today, put a very clode eyes on Onazi, especially when he double up with the full backs when we are on pressure.

Joel Obi is a good player, the problem with him is adaptability. As you may know, the Serie A is a very niche league, it suits certain type of players and Joel has over modified his game for the Serie A that he looks like a fish out of water outside Italy.
I feel 2 weeks might be too short to re-modify his game, it is what it is. If the going was good, he is the kind of player you want coming in from the bench to close out games, in my opinion.
i know joel is a very good player but national team matter no be by you are good but by showing it to a coach.

I'm sure his doing something good in training.

hopefully all the boys do well today

Rudiger is jittery on the ball and that's why he is synonymous to Akpeyi. Give him a back pass and see him dance alanta

i totally disagree with you brother man, Rudiger is a very good defender, maybe not technically gifted but his really good

Based on years since debut na senior baller for eagles

the one to iheanacho against congo.
The truth is when a pass don't translate to a goal, no one will remember
