RomanceRe: My Fiancee Said She Can't Support Her Husband! by MaxyBrown(m): 9:42am On Mar 07, 2016
This looks like a test to me. I want to believe you're hardworking yourself; if you really love her, probe her intentions further. If not drop her like hot potato when you still can. Marriage without all-round support is a conditional arrangement that may not stand the test of time. Trust me, the tests will surely come and they will include financial tests

It should be a pen not Biro. Biro is only a brand of pen.
CareerRe: Am About To Resign Because Of My Boss Wickedness, harrassments And Embarassments! by MaxyBrown(m): 8:11am On Jan 18, 2016
Get the HCMD involved (by that you know some of us know where you are coming from). Write letter like one of those that have left would have done and see how things turn out from there. You are educated first to be able to defend yourself and not be treated like a nonentity. Every other thing is secondary.
CelebritiesRe: Do I Really Look Like Wizkid? by MaxyBrown(m): 2:42pm On Jan 15, 2016
It is gross inferiority complex to want to look after someone that is not biologically related to you especially because they are "celebrity".
It's becoming rampant these days and its sad. Wouldn't it be even better if you asked if somebody resembles YOU? The other way round is pitiable

Nice one Yaskarahyelhope. Its not certain how we got here as a people. At least it wasn't this bad before now.
A major re-orientation and paradigm shift is needed if the generation that will succeed the current show runners will thrive in the comity of nations.

Can somebody shread this distracting, unintelligent tread to the dust bin? Does he expect a PDP person to burst PDP propaganda? #Commonsense
Christianity EtcRe: Winners Chapel's Reply To Allegations On Bishop Oyedepo by MaxyBrown(m): 10:11am On Jan 29, 2015
Good that the true position has been made known.

Anyone that chooses to now believe a lie is purely on their own.

As mentioned in the official statement, there is no need to defend the Bishop or God.

He didnt get to where he is by talking back to gossipers and lyers. Focus is the word.

That the truth (which sets free) is out is enough-only of the wise.

May God's will be done in our nation. God bless Nigeria.
PoliticsRe: Buhari Executed 40 Soldiers For Plotting A Coup (New York Times 1984) by MaxyBrown(m): 12:07pm On Jan 20, 2015
Guys You know what, whether this is another Wendel Slim's handiwork or another one. It smell so much of desperation and its becoming too much and going too far. Infact, some very objective people are getting converted to vote in Buhari because of this character assasination and defamtion.

Whats this campaign of calumny about? First it was religious bigotry then certificate scandal, then PTF corruption, then it was health, then his military killings etc If you have not observed, in military, if you are successful you take over, if not you die. People executed under Buhari were not the first to be so execute and wont be the last. Ask those that tried under IBB.

For once in this country, do or die politics is playing out for real. Note this, a very unlikely person like me and everyone within my cycle of influence will vote Buhari. I will rather vote an ols man than vote the unknow than vote what I know and find unsatisfactory.

PoliticsRe: Melaye: Private Jet Equals Private Death, Stop The Stealing Now by MaxyBrown(m): 3:05pm On Dec 17, 2012
What a shallow mindset. To think that its men like this representing the good people of Nigeria is most saddening. How can anyone relate private jets to private death? Is there anything like "public death"? We all came one by one and will go in the same pattern. Even if there was public death, is it more desirable than private death? Only God determines when people come and go....and how. Am I supporting looting in whatever form/format? NO. Whoever said that hardwork and Gods blessing cant give private jets if the claim that it gave Porsch is true? Just my thoughts
HealthRe: Beware Of "Pillows Sellers In Lagos Traffic" by MaxyBrown(m): 7:26pm On Dec 12, 2012
This is my exact same experience. I bought two pillows on the 1st of December in Egbeda traffic from an Aboki. I got home to find I had only bought some packaged trash. It was a needless waste of money. Its my first and last time time of buying anything of value from traffic. Coveat emptor!!!

Change your radiator to double cell radiator. I did that when my car that issue last year. Today, overheating is the least of my worries even when I travel with AC. best of luck
PoliticsRe: The Fuel Subsidy Removal Is Not A Bad Thing! by MaxyBrown(m): 8:35am On Jan 04, 2012
@ Poster, Who ever said it SW a bad thing? Do you know anything about doing the right thing at the wrong time? Have you asked yourself who benefits from windfall revenues in Nigeria. Where is the benefit of debt relief? Nigerian is neck-deep again in debt only few years on. Where is the positive effect of the all time high global oil price at one time in Nigeria. That's just to mention but a few. so, what make you think this will be any different?

I can tell you for a fact that unless and until we fix our own refineries (Nigeria is the only oil producing country in the world refining its fuel abroad), take decisive action against corruption and punish offenders-old and new and fix power and infrastructure issues, nothing will change. Sadly enough, non of these issues are to be given attention from the expected inflow from subsidy removal. We all keep talking about telecoms like its a big deal at Nigeria's age.

Cant really blame you; you cant talk beyond what you know. People have so much been impoverished (mentally and otherwise) in this country that now the normal things have become big deal.

For the sake of the next generation lets cultivate the habit of thinking things through before we take stands that are not sound with these few people living in luxury calling for sacrifice. they should lead by example by cutting down on the cost of governance first.
PoliticsRe: Where Are Our Celebrities That Supported Jonathan? by MaxyBrown(m): 8:19am On Jan 04, 2012
Stupid, hungry idiots who do not think beyond food, vanity, dressing, vacation and lavish living. Posterity will judge them. Their children and next generation will with time curse the day they were born. Empty skulls
NYSCRe: NYSC And Breakups. by MaxyBrown(m): 3:47pm On Apr 15, 2011
I guess you are right. I can tell you firsthand, any girl that leaves you because of the "icing sugar" NYSC gives must look for the real substance afterwards. I experienced the same thing you are going thru with a lady I was engaed to about a year ago. Today I am better off for it in every regard, she is currently making frantic effort to crawl back. Its most def tooooooo late.

They say you never know what you have until you lose it, I am quick to add, you never know the joy of a new horizon until you are ready to let go of the tiny ground you currently wont let go, What is meant for you will be yours, what wont wont, stop sweating the small stuff

Mom: No body is better than you, but you are also not better than the next person until and unless you prove it.

Dad: You make your choice, then they make you.

RomanceRe: Why Does NYSC 'Kill' Relationships? by MaxyBrown(m): 8:48pm On Aug 30, 2010
uhmmm, this thread is so timely.

Much as one may want to dislodge this claim, It seems true.

I am currently facing this same issue. My woman to whom I am engaged is serving at the moment and I can tell that to the extent you want to trust your partner she is facing a challenging time from prowling guys all over the place.

She's is a God fearing lady. She is also an attractive woman, no doubt. One cannot wish away the fact that men will be men-chasing after even married women.

My mindset is if after all the tempatation, the distance and all, if your woman still make it home to you, than you have a real deal. Anything contrary is not even worth it in the first palce.

So, if you say NYSC is a form of putting the commitment to test, under the rain and in the sun, you are not wrong

", I hope you have all learnt from me as much as I have from you, never to judge a man by the color of his skin or by the way he looks, "(paraphrased)-Washinton Denzel in Remember the Titans

", I have a dream, that someday my daughters would not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character (paraphrased, emphasis mine)- Martin Luther king Jr

In my opinion, physical outlook should not be over-rated

PoliticsRe: Muslims Call On Allah To Stop Female Governorship In Kwara by MaxyBrown(m): 7:57am On Jan 29, 2010
Its amazing how a few greedy people want to make themslves demigods in Nigeria- wanting to enthrone and dethrone. That is the sad case of Kwara state and infact most states in Nigeria. Truth is that things are changing and that fast. People in this category should watch their backs. A new generation of youths is rising- people that are concious, educated, well- travelled and properlly guided. If a black man can become president in the US this it is not hard to imagine that politics of god-fatherism is gong into extinction pretty soon. Time will tell.

As for the illiterates and religious-hopeless parading themselves like deciders of events in kwara state, I advise them to find something else to do because the world is changing and because they have refused to change, they will simply go the way of the dinosaurs. Whether kwara is a yoruba state or not is not a question to debate- as for me. Are there Yorubas In Germany? Yes. Are there Yorubas in Benin Republic. Yes. Are there Yorubas in Kwara? Yes. Do they speak Hausa as the major language in Kwara no. Smart people can make smart conclusion from this alone.
CrimeRe: My Target Was Pastor Chris - Lagos Bomber by MaxyBrown(m): 1:59pm On Jan 08, 2010
Silence indeed is the best answer for attention-seeking, foolish beings who lack tact and manner.
CrimeRe: My Target Was Pastor Chris - Lagos Bomber by MaxyBrown(m): 8:18am On Jan 08, 2010
There are lots of infants around. I cant imagine any matured/sane mind speaking in favour of a bomber for whatever reason. If bombing would get the attention of a pastor, then all Nigerians should strap bombs to get the attention of Yar'adua and govt at large. Is that what the likes of tudor is saying? Then then sacked bankers should kill the rest of us with bombs and faruk should also get a pat on the back. C'mon, grow up. That line of thinking means you have lapsed into the defeatist mode. Champions don't whine. They go ahead. An eye for an eye leaves everyone blind.
PoliticsRe: At Last! Yaradua Talked To Nigerians! by MaxyBrown(m): 11:41am On Jan 07, 2010
This country is being led by Big time jokers. What key national issue can a sick man discuss under 5 mins.huh? People are getting all the more impoverished on daily basis and the priority of the president is issue of diplomacy. To achieve what? To possibly keep on increasing the list of diplomatic hungry people for we obodo Nigeria. Confamento! I get amuzed by this whole drama. Anyone that can make a movie from this whole drama would produce endless seasons of rib-craking comedy from these cartoon characters who think all Nigerians are dummies.
ProgrammingRe: Nigerian, Kehinde Adeyemi, Among Best Global IT Developers by MaxyBrown(m): 8:06am On Jan 07, 2010
I used to frequent this forum as a visitor but at some point I felt a strong urge to become a registered member. This was informed by the thouhgt that a forum like this could be a very good avenue for well meaning NIGERIANS to rally, exchange constructive views and form a voice that could bring change. I must say however that I am so much amazed at the level of insensitivity and maybe immaturity exhibited by our people.

A Nigerian just got our name on a bad list and we are angry. In the middle of this, another Nigerian just got us on a good book- literarilly and all some people would do is tongelash. The poster may have affixed a rather sanguine title. That does not change the fact that we all need to say 'welldone' to the young man inspite of the poor educational system we know we have. This would encourage even younger minds to look up to record to break, knowing that IT IS POSSIBLE.

I think people who feel they have so much to offer should start doing so by deeds rather than whittling down the effort of others.(Nobody has yet become greater by belittling others.

God Bless Nigeria.
PoliticsRe: (Updated) 38 Extremists Killed In Clashes In Northern Nigeria (Now 70 People ) by MaxyBrown(m): 7:39am On Dec 30, 2009
Much as I hate to be tribalistic, I cannot help but ask myself; why do issues foreign to "Niger- Area" emanate from the same area of the country- both locally and internationally? Issues of revenue sharing is for example understandable. The issue of corruption-we are shouting about it. Why should foreign religions, ideas and mindset become someone elses wahala. Christianity may not have originated from here, neither did Islam. Why the stupidityhuh?? When are we going to start thinking for ourselves. We need to put on our thinking caps.
