DONMAYOR19: Fake kidnap and fake escape....everything just fake and no single iota of truth except the only truth I know is that NOBODY WAS KIDNAP BEFORE.The bombings may also be fake abi? |
hello ladies. how´re we doing in this 2nd half of the year? what happened sef? anyway, moving on. safe delivery to all july mommies. missed you all. |
Happy birthday Temismith! Wish you all the best. |
@Esmeralda, nothing wrong with bottle feeding, my doctor friend ctually adviced me to introduce the bottle b/w 4 and 6 weeks cos then babies won't reject it and it makes it easier when you finally want to introduce milk. she herself brstfed/bottlefed her 2 kids for 12 months exclusively, pumping and freezing during her maternity leave. The kids are abt 12 and 6 years now. I took the advice and my baby bottlefeeds and brstfeeds as well (exclusive). but i'd say you continue putting baby to the brst as well, like already mentioned, it's an act that needs to be perfected over time. |
hello and good day to all the wonderful mums, dads and mums/dads to be. @sennykenny, your day is fast approaching. i do hope the hospital is close to ur house sha. sorry abt all the pains and same to you kafcakes and all the barrow pushers with pain in one bu.tt or the other. I think its normal towards the end, unpleasant, but normal@tunjikrown, this particular baby is a winner and has come to stay...and I pray it's a girl too. wow!!! men and daughters, i hope you don't spoil her silly. waiting patiently for another birth story. |
Welcome sexysisi. You took a brave decision and that alone shows the baby is in safe hands. I blv those that initiated the thread did so for us to support/encourage each other, and other preggers who may be following silently. Just ask ur question so that those who know can answer while those that don't kno can learn along with you. Pregnancy/babies is what we have in commn, its a really tough stuff and nobody should journey alone, married or not. Hummingbird how the go dey go? |
Awwwwwww! @willdidi, you're really a nice guy, thanks for your prayers for us and may God continue to bless you. Your wife shall carry to term in Jesus'name, amen. I'm really touched whenever I see a man that appreciates women and pregnancy. As for the cot, I personally believe that a baby's brain is a blank slate and whatever you as the parents introduce to it is what it knows. Many new mums, esp first timers want to sleep with their baby(excitement thingz) and the baby will just get used to that and then they'll think babies don't like cot. My baby sleeps in her cot day and night. She's on exclusive and I breast*feed her at night too and put her back to her cot after that, although the first 3 weeks when night feeding was very constant, she was sleeping with me on the bed SOMETIMES. Since her 4th week, it's been her cot all the way up till now. Just get the cot if you can afford it, but if not, then explain to madam and you guys can forget it. it's all good. @sinie our God has made a name for Himself on your behalf. You shall carry to term in Jesus' name, Amen. @Preshilla, cute story there, whoever wrote it is really talented. @kaf cakes and sennykenny, God will see you through. @gr8fulheart, continue to be gr8tful to God for all you have, and He will surely bless you with all you want. Your story touched me. @igwuezi welcome to the thread. @all this ori of a thing is something else o. a friend gave me little from hers when my baby had cough/cartah, it took care of that. I've been reading about it here and I decided to try it for skin care. you need to see my baby's colour! i applied it to see if it can clear a minor face rash and it did, and also gave her a beautiful colour eh. will tell my mum to buy more and send for me. Byvan please look well well o, the thing na wonder worker, although the smell na another thing o. |
Rukemi291: I don miss all of una o. Happy new year to all of us again.welcome to the club. Although I think it's a stage and will soon pass. mine was like that but now she sleeps well at night and wakes up to eat abt 3 times. you'll even get used to it in no time. now i cant sleep past 4hrs, even if I tried @Genbuhari, I Thank God for your family. |
Happy new year wonderful mums. Welcome to 2014. And welcome to the thread @Igwuezi and all the other new preggies. The Lord is our strength. Genb how madam? Hummingbird hope u're strong? |
Amen tyspicy. @chestnut mine was breech at 33wks but later turned. Yours will also turn. @kaf cakes small small, you're almost der, una own beta, the journey others will see 2times you're doing it once. |
@hummingbird I was so touched by your update. Sorry I never typed it but I always ask myself, "what of hummingbird, iyabeji". You'll not only carry to term, you'll also live long to reap d fruits of your labour, amen! I'm sure hubby tried with the rice but hormones no let u enjoy am. Lol @burnt sacrifice, at least he was home and even cooked. Some will leave in d morning and return late at nait, so like tchiwinnie said, give him a hug joo, he did well. I take cold water even on my way to d hosp during labour, I had my cold water can with me. @mummyf noted. Hydration mode reactivated. Genb how the family? Happy new year all. |
Preshila: . @mummyf and byvan i hear o, bt the thing dey pain, plus back pain. byvan u strong well well sha. if girl dey suck like this, boy nko? u com get them 3. @tobiegal ur stratrgy is good to avoid feeling dizzy and falling.this tiredness towards the end is just nature's way of slowing us down weda we like it or not, to reserve energy for the d-day. enjoy. if its any consolation, jan don dey near and feb is a short month. |
byvan: @all,just wokeooo,Breast feeding thingsme never even see sleep, the bossom don dry sef .congrats once again on ur day of triple celebration. you're really strong, to have sat up by now. keep it up. @Rukemi, baaaaaad girl ![]() @halemat, your baby is cute. |
@tbaby, A man pointed a tiny dot in the middle of a paper and gave to his son and asked, what do u see son? The son replied, I see a dot. And the dad asked is that all u see and d son goes "yes, that's all I see" The dad said beside the dot is a whole lot of white space and u hav just concentrated on the tiny dot. That woman is just like that dot, tiny and ignorable. Concentrate on the many others that receive happily from you and let them be the blank space on d paper on which many of ur blessings will be listed. Smile and walk tall, you're a king's kid! |
oluwawunmi: @fnor congrat am 6wks gone but saw small stain yesterday am so worrid will go 4 scan by 10 just pray 4 me i need dis babySome women spot arnd the tym their period shd have come(assuming they were not pregnant), some also spot at implantation(when the foetus implants to the uterus...I think) and some with fibroid spot too. I spotted at 6wks with my first and they gave me an injection. The baby is 2.5 years now and has a lil sister. It is well, just go for the scan. Happy aniversary tolu. @ fnor congrats and happy anniversary, its tripple celebration in ur home forever-anniversary, bday of the prince and xmas thingz(if u're a christian) Congrats halemat. Read what byvan wrote again and again ok. @rukemi easy o. Docs recommend 6wks sha cos our bodies go through some trauma during labour and needs to heal, outside and inside, me waited for 8wks, withing which dh was getting his conjugal rights in many other forms just be creative |
Thank god for your family Genb. E be like say na una do xmas pass o. As for the wight loss, I think babies generally lose weight after birth, then start adding again. Even when the doctors want to check her progress, they compare her present weight with what she weighed later which is usually less, not the first one. My baby weighed 4.2 at birth, then reduced to 3.9 and started growing from there, so you baby is on course. I'm happy for your wifey. Ok. O Byvan. Marching down with my spoon and nylon for take away ![]() |
Welcome chi angel. God will see you through. Just came back from midnight service. Haven't cooked anything o. Byvan and favoured gal, my mouth dey una hand o, especially for roasted turkey. Long throat mode activated. Merry xmas lovely mums and safe delivery to the remaining preggers. |
udoka2: my dear, no blame me ooo, u need to see list of don't eat, even groundnutI read from a book "what to expect in the first year" written by same authors of "what to expect when you're expecting" that some babies(not all) are allergic to groundnut. I didn't want to add that info to my post, I figured everyone was tired of the "don't eats" but after reading ur last post, I felt obliged to say it. Sorry, its only groundnut and groundnut based foods like peanut and ose oji, and ur baby may not react to them anyway. Every other thing, carry go. |
missuzoma: Sisters pls dont listen to most of the dietary instructions; they dont make sense. I allowed myself to be ordered about after the first baby nd life was bad. Subsequently i did exactly what i wanted after delivery like emptying a one litre pack of chilled don simon into my system one hour or so after the second baby. Me and the baby did well and the intake of fruits and all made the next two babies not to have colic. The first one nearly cried herself to death as i didnt like omugwo food and so she was also not getting enough bossom milk. Ask good doctor or nurse all those restrictions are myths.Okeyyyyyy! So its all the fruits I took(cos of constipation) that prevented this one from having colic? My first was so colicy and I even got scared. God bless you my sister.for the 2days I was in d hosp, they always serve bread and tea or cofee(decafinated) with sugar and milk after the main meal, and ppl were also visiting with diff types of rice and juice packs. I downloaded all and my baby and I are doing just great. I've never tasted pap(in my life that is). There's no food a nursing mum can't eat, u only have to be cautious with drugs. Mama Nani abeg no dey hide dey eat akara it's more than ok(u made me laff there) |
Kheti: Congrats esmeralda. Our God is faithful, may ur baby bring u loads of joy and happiness.@kheti sorry o, I myself have asked several questions and had absolutely no answers to them, I even asked about this constipation thing, my baby being breech at 33wks, etc. No answer. I saught help from elsewhere, but it won't stop me from giving my own suggestions if it's a topic I'm conversant with. I've quoted the post so that ppl that know abt it can answer. pls don't take offence, it happens but its usually not intentional. I never had cold while pregnant and I kno a pregger can't take drugs indiscreminately so I'll suggest putting robb in hot water and inhaling the smoke. |
Rukemi291: Udoka. You dey enjoy omugwo things. The don't-eat-this-don't-eat-that thing is seriously choking. I love sugar/sweet things a lot but i have been banned from them. I sneak to put them in my food.Hmm, some people sef dey enjoy scaring new mums and first time preggies. I love sugar nd sugary things too, but I try to avoid it when I can, for my health(diabetes and all) not cos of the baby per say. Agbo ke, boys don't tolerate sugar nothing person no go hear o.Sinie your baby will live and you will testify to the goodness of God. Be assured of my prayers. please don't be scared or confused, God will see you through. Honiepie24: @mayblossom r u serioussssss, amazing,i love dat ur xperience,hw did they knw u had fallen into serious contraction, since u had no pain,u also dialated stresslessly.wowNot that I never had pains, I arrived at the hosp in pains like most mums. I was admitted and examined, i was 1cm dilated at the time. they decided to monitor the baby and before 30mins, I was already 3cm, so they knew I was definitely in labour and not false labour. There was pain all this time(the early pains sha not the very intense type) till they gave me the epi then the pain stopped. We got to the hosp arnd 6:30, admitted around 7pm, epidural was given around 10pm and I put to bed at 8:25 the next morning. you know one thing is that epidural makes labour a bit longer so they gave me pitocin too to fasten it. udoka2: @allNo I never sd u shd not eat the peppersoup, I actually sd u shd drink it well well that the spices help. as for Iron, I'm very sure it causes constipation. My doc told me cos my antenatal drug contained iron for strength and i was also given extra iron tabs(i was always weak and my blood count was low). The iron became very necessary so doc told me thats the only way out, and then warned me to take ENOUGH water to avoid constipation. |
The drummer boy and Joy to the world. |
And Udoka I forgot to add, go as soon as you feel pressed. Many people tend to wait longer as a result of fear and the longer the poo stays in your stomach, the drier/stronger and more dehydrated it becomes because it's hot inside our stomachs you know. And also eat well, irrespective of the constipation. I avoided eating much in order to have to go to the bathroom less and doc says it worsens the condition. Good luck, try the ones you can, I'm sure you'll be ok. |
Congrats Esmeralda, May God bless your little girl. byvan: @mayblossom, 5CmI read from somewhere that one has to be in established labour, I guess the ones that wait till 5cm are just being cautious. My dear even at 3cm I was already seeing double. The epidural was fun joo, I was gisting with hubby and he was taking my pictures. Once in a while we'll hear another mama screaming and my hubby will just say, "why would anyone refuse epidural for God's sake? And it's free here" udoka2: Please l have serious constipation, water therapy is not helping, is there anything l can do, bearing in mind l breas.tfeed?I was there and it's not a very nice experience. Continue taking water cos the MAJOR cause of constipation is dehydration. Fruits(esp kiwi. google and see what it looks like, maybe u'll find it in Naija. it worked miracle for me) and vegetables also work and finally, one mama here suggested taking the omugwo peppersoup religiously, that all those spices(uziza and uda them) help a lot. My dear I tried and it worked o. All these mamas they know a lot from their own experience you know. Iron also causes constipation, so if your post-natal drugs contain iron, you might wanna take once in 2days instead of daily. I did so too and my doc was ok with it. they're routine drugs anyway, and if you eat right, then u have nothing to worry abt as per skipping the drugs. Again, considering you had a cs, I read somewhere that those that had any form of pain relief during labour are more likely to experience constipation, cos even the digetive system is still sluggish from drugging(not everybody). Nne sorry, I know how it feels. Honiepie24: @mayblossom r u kiddin?nnewi kwa?sorry oo my nnewi sisters m jus awe'd,thats good,i heard many clinics in lagos r equally good, tnx a lot dear.good eveningYes o. Na so I scream when she told me. I was thrilled. |
@honiepie24, yes, I used epi for my 2nd and honestly I'll use it over and over again. My baby and I have been in top health o, never gone to hosp except for vaccines. I don't know if it has excess, but I know ppl that have used it twice. I'm not in Naija but my cousin used it in Naija(Nnamdi Azikiwe uni teaching hosp Nnewi) and she said it was nice. She's a Doc there so she didn't really pay, but she said its extra 25k on top of ur bill. Its new dere sha. Heard they just introduced it this year. If u're in lag, I'm sure dere are lots of hosp that have such services there. @byvan as per feeling the real thing, she'll have a lil taste of it cos one must dilate up to 5cm before they administer it, although mine was given at 3cm, maybe because my labour was progressing so fast, I don't really know. |
Oh I'm relieved seriously. I don't kno u Genb, but I've been feeling for madam since and also praying for you guys. An event free pregnancy is stressful, how much more one with some "stress" like hers. Glory be to God! They'll soon be discharged. Congrats joo, you're a doting DAD! And thanks for caring for her so well. I di too much. That's a man there. Esmeralda, God will see you through, Amen. Enough dec babies. Make person born for xmas day na. Fnor are you dere? |
@honiepie24 I used epidurals and labour was a beautiful experience for me, no pain, just pressure. It has side effects just like any other medical procedure, but if administered by a specialist, you have nothing to worry about. I plan to use it for all my births, God willing. @babiemee, your baby will turn in Jesus'name. mine was breech at 33weeks but had turned by 39weeks. @byvan that's very smart o(your dismissing strategy), i've been imagening what became of the relationship btw that MIL and DIL. Chineke ekwena ihe ojoo(God forbid bad thing.) |
Rukemi congrats o. cute birth story there. You that love live update...? kisses to your little one. @Fnor, don't worry, God will grant you a safe delivery @Genbuhari, your joy will be complete soon. Just don't fail to come back with birth story ok. hmmmm, who's next? Someone should deliver on xmas day... |
present ma. Rukemi has been very active and now her absence is OBVIOUS at least to me. hope she's fine or is it labour thingz? @mummyf, this may sound wierd, but saliva is a wonderful lubricant. you can read up more from google. As per the dryness, blame hormones due to breastfeeding. its normal after childbirth dear, especially for breastfeeding mums. |
byvan: @Udoka,he is doing great dear,i change diapers anytime I think it needs changing, including at night . It's just a 2mins thing, i don't see how that exposes a baby to cold.My dear follow your maternal instincts and forget people with their too much stories, some actually get their kicks from scaring new mums.very true byvan, liking the bolded. wet diapers make my baby cough till I change it. |
Congrats Udoka and Julibest, and maiheritage too. Udoka I actually laughed when I read your preference for cs. truely sometimes I wonder why women reject cs(if its their only option), cos it's not that bad. I had my first with cs and my second with v. delivery. i guess its because it's already regarded as surgery, but believe me, our bodies go through untold trauma during labour and pushing as well, not forgetting the tear and all. some also feel less heroic when they have a cs as those that had a v. birth continuosly brag abt the pain and how they conquered and all(myopic in my opinion). methink the lives of baby and mama are the most important here. |
Congrats Juliebest. May your daughter bring joy into ur home, amen. princesca: Did scan today and it shows the baby legs are down why the head is up which are not suppose to be so?is there anything I can do to make the baby turn to its normal position?has anyone gone through this before and the baby later turned?pls any advice on what to do will be appreciated.thank u all. @udoka Congrat to u.the lord shall finish want he started in ur life.and God bless the lil prince charming IJNI was ther too at 33wks but by 38wks, she had turned. Your pregnancy is still young and baby moves and sumersault pretty much cos there's enof room for now, s/he will eventually posiition well. Also try the exercises byvan posted too, you have nothing to lose. Peace |
I think its normal towards the end, unpleasant, but normal
.
nothing person no go hear o.
