Congrats Honey86 on the birth of your son. As for the cut, I was told to rinse it well with lukewarm water and pat dry with a towel each time I took my bath. By 2-3wks I was relieved. Take care. Smh @ unplanned home birth.

Welcome rcee. Why don't you go for ultrasound and start antenatal already. It's good to go early so that any anormally. Eg ectopic pregnancy, etc can be detected, though we don't pray for that. And also so that you can start taking some prenatal meds. Its very important, esp for spinal cord formation.
@Rukemy, other mums have said it all, and you have a super mum that is very good with crisis management. Read mine and feel even better. My WEDDING venue was changed to hubby's vill by mil so that she can attend, as she was still mourning fil at the time and shouldn't travel far. I felt so bad cos I already planned some beautiful and entertaining stuff that I've seen in my colleagues' weddings(I called off all that cos of distance), my colleagues and friends had to come to that village too and I had a "village" wedding way "below" my dreams. When the video started cracking, I never bothered to ask the cameraman to get another one for me cos I don't even care, I just want the memory erased. I'm married to a man I really love and that's all that matters now, in as much as I would have loved to have a video for my kids to watch. Yours is berra cos its tradition. Mine was just a one man decision.
Genbuhari 32weeks not baaaaad. Hang in there, you're almost there. Supportive husband, I must say your type is rare.

i suspected this when you complained of stooling. God is with you and will give you your heart's desire, Amen. 2cm and no contraction, not bad(I believe you're having contractions hence the dilation up to 2cm, you're just not feeling the pains yet)...at 3cm I was already seeing the door of hell from afar cheesy
Good luck. Patiently waiting for your birth story.
Thanks Tobiegal, I tried to sleep and baby really cooperated o. we slept till around 10:30am smiley smiley

@Smokey drinkey I experienced the same thing in both pregnancies. Swollen feet, face, nose, fingers. I removed my wedding ring because it got so tight. It's completely normal, although it's good you see your doctor as preshila pointed out. In the mean time, take a lot of fluids(water is the best) and always elevate your feet when you can, and stay active too, like walking. They'll make you pee a lot and get rid of the swollenness cos most of it is retained water. Cheers

Congrats bigmom. that was a really short labour abt 3.5hrs. Not bad and I wish the remaining mums so short or even shorter labour.
@ Udoka, I too started stooling before labour, although mine started on the day the labour started too, but it was really frequent and I was just passing very little but watery poo each time. Relax as long as Doc is not worried. It's coming to an end already. Wish you the best. smiley

goldwaters: I usually begin to poo some hrs b4 I go into labour. I just keep pooing like I'm stooling but its normal poo not watery. I guess its my body's way of getting d poo out of my system b4 delivery.
Same with me for my second baby, I kept pooping, very small poo each time I go, I never knew it was labour till I saw blood on the tissue the last time. But I no poo for delivery bed sha
@sennykenny don't worry, the Almighty God will turn your baby. Mine was breech at 33weeks, but later turnednd I had a v. Birth
Udoka sorry o. Abeg easy o, esp where there's mud or wet floor and when it's dark.

Bludeville: It is actually the only thing that has a little backing scientifically . Sperm has been proven to contain prostaglandins ( cytotec that is used to induce contains misoprostol which is a prostaglandin) also when a woman orgazzms, her uterus contracts and there is a release of oxytocins, all this could bring on labour. So thats the idea.
Exactly!! And don't forget ni.pple stimulation which is also part of s*x, and which is known to start strong contractions. All these would work only if you're due, that kain 38wks and above, depending on your body.

Lindxy: U dnt need to tie anytin,,,,ur stomach will come down,,,just make sure u take enoff fruits nd water and u eat well.
And *uda* is also every good.
Exactly! Afterone week, the scar is still very fresh. Besides, the stomach coming down after childbirth will happen naturally and it happens at different times for different people, some after a week, others after 6months or more; our bodies are different. It's not really a function of what you tie or how tight you tie it, I promise you. Continue breastfeeding, it helps a lot. You burn about 200 to 500 calories each day! You can work out too, it's 3 months already, although it's good you get your doctor's ok. Congrats! I love twins.

@swit ayi how's baby doing? and how's your milk letdown? continue to put the baby to the bre.ast, his sucking will stimulate your body to produce milk. it helps if you relax and be anxious for nothing. continue taking fluids though to avoid dehydration, which may lead to constipation. juice, tea, etc are all good, but WATER is your best friend. it's also good for your milk. all the best.

HealthRe: Pregnancy Are You Pregnant Or Going Through A High Risk Pregnancy,,lets Talk by mayblossom(f): 1:39pm On Nov 07, 2013
Bludeville: An inducement and CS are not mutually exclusive. An induction could lead to CS, particularly if the baby is not engaged at time of induction. So an early induction does not rule out CS. The only reason why they should have submitted earlier was if they have birth via CS because their babies got too big. But then, didn't someone on this thread just give birth to a 5kg Baby vaginally? She's just 2 days past EDD. Plus it's a known fact that an induced labour is more painful and stressful than going into labour naturally.
Gbam!!!!

Oduwan: Hahahaha thank you dear, but how about the dizzy feelings. its too early for antenatal.
@ Oduwan, Welcome dear. About the dizziness, just rest well, it's very normal too. Thank God you eat well too. And its never too early for antenatal, but if you don't want to register yet, then start taking folic acid at least, it helps at this formation stage called organogenesis, especially in the spinal cord formation. it doesn't smell nice, but try, for your baby. But you should register for antenatal asap. Good luck in your 9 month journey.

Gen.Buhari pls how's Madam?

tjskii: Hiya mums,I started givin my 3mnth old formular(cow&gate)and I noticed hez been pooing more, before this he pooed once in 3days,now he poos bout 3times a day, though it isn't watery,do u think I shud change d milk
I think for a baby(or any person for that matter) to poo 3 times a day is more normal than to poo once in 3 days. And it's not watery as you said, I wouldn't be bothered by that. And cow & gate is a good milk. I used it a little for my first daughter.

HealthRe: NEW BORN BABIES! Are U A New Mum? Then Lets Discuss Babies Here!!!!! by mayblossom(f): 9:11pm On Oct 23, 2013
Hi mums, how are you all doing? I trust the babies are great too. I'm equally new here. Just had a baby girl last month.

@marygold, from my little research, the more the baby sucks, the more milk your breasts are stimulated to produce. It might hurt, but let your lo keep sucking. Also, take enough fluids...water, tea, etc any fluid at all and eat healthy. This is not time for dieting,ok. And u're just 2 weeks into lactation, milk letdown gets better with time. Good luck

@zenoj, my 1month old has the rashes exactly as u described. I suspected dryness and started applying more cream( just johnson baby cream) esp where she has the rashes. I also do not dry those parts with towel after bathing, I apply the cream on her body like that and I can say there's improvement. You can see a paediatrician as zinylizzy suggested, just in case it's something else. Good luck too.

HealthRe: How Labouring Is The Labour Pain by mayblossom(f): 1:51pm On Oct 22, 2013
Try giving your lil finger 10 heavy pounding with a hammer, and do that every 5 mins. Then continue to reduce the intervals and increase the number of poundings, till you get to abt 20poundings every 1min. Unlike your "30mins pushing" in the toilet, this pounding has to go on for a whole day or more as the case may be(this is just labour o), then comes the real pushing(baby, not poo) which for some ppl, lasts up to 30mins, and then the tears will be sown and has to heal for abt 3weeks. Dont forget that this part of her body that underwent this trauma will still stretch each time she wants to poo(remember how "painful" you said it is to poo atimes, for a normal person without any lesions , tears or wound)
I don try, if you are good with imagening, you'll grab a little of how painful it can be.
Better still, witness a birth.

utchlady: Hi all, i stunbled upon this page 3 days ago and i can't seem to leave the page. I am a mother of one he is 16 months old and he was born one week past due date via caesarean section, i was only 2 cm dilated and was having no contraction even after taking to packs of oxytocin. A tablet was later broken into two and one part was insereted into me and that was when i started feeling contractions but the fetal heart rate became low that they had to carry out an emergency cs. He was big when he was born reason why he didn't descend. I did pass all the pelvic examination and test. Well i give thanks to God cos he is a lovely boy when i try to regret i look at my son and my joy knows no bound.
Challenge: he is 16 months old and i am 2 months pregnant and all my desire is to try for a vbac this time around and i am hoping against all odds that it will happen so. Anyone here who has had this experience before and later put to bed via vbac (varginal birth after casearean section).
Just had a vbac abt 3weeks ago. My first was breech, so I had a cs and this time around, the baby was cephalic, though on the big side, I had a successful vbac, 27 months after my cs. Just hand everything over to God, He'll see you through.

You mentioned that childbirth can affect bowel movement, how? Cos I know a number of women who have great difficulty passing poo up to 1month after delivery because the poo is sooo hard. What's responsible for this and how can it be corrected?
