Your milk let down is very powerful so it comes out too fast. Either this or she rushes the milk. Don't let her cry so much before you offer her breast. It will finally stop ok.

Hello Mama's, kindly help a first time mum o. Recently when breastfeeding my baby, she sucks for some time then she starts struggling and behaves as if she's choking and starts crying. At this point I burp her and try feeding her again and the whole process repeats itself. It relieves her during night feeding and some times during the day. Has anyone experienced this and what could be the cause. Thanks

My Birth Story
It all started on tuesday 23rd. My edd according to baby apps was 22nd but scan said 23rd August. That faithful tuesday, i kpekus with dh as it was advised as labour inducing. In fact as soon as we finish, to clean up, na so i see plenty blood. I knew that was bloody show so i no worry. I went for anc same day and told the doctor that i saw bloody show that morning. He told me that when i start having painful contractions that were three minutes apart i should come to the hospital but if not by the following week i would be induced. On getting home, i had a first feel of real contraction though mild one. The contractions started increasing in intensity but they were not regular. Tuesday night was hell as it became more painful and uncomfortable coming 30, 15, 35, 17 mins apart and still very irregular. I didn't sleep well at all. Around 7am on Wednesday morning, it stopped but by 8:30 it started again. My dh had already gone to work at the time. I didn't even bother timing again throughout the day since it was still irregular contractions i was getting. Dh came back from work early that day cos of the contractions. In the evening around 7pm we took a stroll to buy toiletries and i had about 4 painful contractions and on getting home the contractions continued. At 12 midnight i had had enough so i got my hospital bag and dh took me to the hospital. The first doctor did a VE and i was already 4cm dilated. I went for ctg and was given an injection to make me relaxed so i was able to sleep a bit between the consistent contractions. By 5am i went back to the labour ward where contractions continued. Around 7 am the midwife ruptured the membrane, that was when contractions without pause started. I lost idea of time at this point. Another VE was done and I was 8 cm dilated. At a point the pressure on my jajaina became unbearable and i told them that i couldn't hold back and wanted to push.
I was taken to the labour room and asked to push when i feel a contraction. I had to be given cuts to allow my baby come out. Her placenta was round her neck so they asked me to wait while they freed her. I think the pushing part is easier than the waiting to get fully dilated. I lost a lot of blood and the stitching of the tears no be here o. In all, i give God the glory. I agree that the presence of a healthy lo is worth any pain a woman goes through in childbirth.

Take your drugs
Eat a lot of vegetables and fruits
Try as much as you can to overcome third trimester heaviness by being up and about.
Above all commit all to God. He is still in the miracle working business.

It's July Mamas.... Are you as excited as I am ? With each passing week, our dreams are getting closer to realisation. It's week 35,34,33 and 32 for us respectively. Am 34weeks plus 4days today. EDD is 11th. But am seriously eyeing 1st -3rd August ooo. Team Blue, baby Ekene, still dragging his English name with hubby till now ooo. I haven't washed baby's cloth yet ooo despite the fact that i bought them last month oo. . Feeling so lazy about it...don't even know why. Thoughts of how i will iron all of them scares me too. I hate ironing . I haven't finished shopping too. DH still waiting for June salary alert.(life of a civil servant) Hoping it comes this week ooo so we finish that chapter by next week latest.

My bump wants to roll on the floor now. I dey look am. Started having cramps yersterday and am happy about it. Hoping baby has turned too cos last scan showed breech. Am still happy for the little strength the pregnancy is giving me to do little chores at home. Tho I feel serious leg pains and waist pains after market and soup making. My face is so big and ugly now erh....chai. .fine chick that I used to be...but now I have grown old . Missed antenatal today cos of public hols. Can't wait for next week tho....Am happy. ...and I thank Jah for bringing me this far...trusting in him to take me successfully to the end of this journey. ..

It's June mamas . Bye bye to honeymoon phase of pregnancy!! Third trimester things ooo. We don the reach small small ooo. 8-10 weeks to gooooo.... Me I tap into 8 weeks to go ministry ooo because the way this my bump have big errrh....I just tire for am sef. I need this baby out early enough
We expect increased vaginal discharge in this trimester. But check to ensure it is odourless. Risk of infection is higher in this trimester than others so top up on personal hygiene. Some first trimester symptoms may also return for some people such as tiredness, frequent urinating, headches etc. Drink water more and more...but the toilet will be your friend ooo because of urine. Back pains and waist pains too will be our friend.

Am 30 weeks +4days today....Am happy. Waist pain and backache is my middle name now oo. I can now urinate for Africa too. Somedays, baby decides to rest on bladder abi pelvis making walking a really huge task I walk and pause ....
My bump is also getting too big for my liking. People already saying am carrying a twin. Am trying to cut down meals to just 2times a day(so help me God) . I have done about 65percent shopping. Trusting in God for resources to do the remaining 35percent or so. I would love to start washing babies clothes too so I can start ironing gradually (I hate ironing soooooo much) . Still not kpekpusing enough ooo (libido missing)...but I will really need to put effort to increase frequency to at least 2times a week for now while I see how I can increase it more later as the week progresses. I would love to have baby before EDD o ooo at least a week to EDD if not 2weeks to....

In other news, was so happy yersterday. Went baby shopping with hubby yersterday. So far at least, we have bought 65% of the things on our list. ...35% to go. Praying to God to supply just what we need by this June ending so I can use July for washing and packing. One or two disappointments here and there sha. ..NHIS that was supposed to take care of delivery bills to some extent said they could not find DH form to process on time, so he had to fill another one . That will take another 3months -4months before it will be ready. Now we have to include hospital bills in our budget. I did a lil business last year and was expecting some interest but from all indications, nothing for me again. Once I can even recover my capital, no wahala. Our Rent is expiring next month too. We would have realky loved to move to a bigger apartment but dont know how feasible that will be again with most landlords insisting on 2years rent. All in all, am grateful to God. Am grateful for the privilege of carrying a pregnancy. ...I did nothing to deserve it so I REMAIN NOTHING BUT THANKFUL. ...

I've stopped the progynova and clexane injection but I'll use the 4 tabs of cyclogest I still have.

Mama Zaynie, I don't know what the problem is.. I just know I've never crossed this 8weeks. Then I was told it's low progesterone so I normally support with primolut injection yet it still happens.
This time around I allowed a fertility doctor do all the prescription and diagnosis... Hcg doubled initially then increased but not doubling.. I've done several tests in my life.. Including torch screen.. Those rubella and Co..my sample was taken to India. Last week gestational sac was irregular.. Today we only saw the foetus up but no definite sac.. Everything on the screen was white... No dark circle.. And no heartbeat... At 7weeks 6days! Doctor said the wall is too thick for an 8weeks pregnancy and the foetus length is way too small for such a term too. I saw few tiny dark hole bubbles.. He called them Aqua something.. Maybe they're water pockets.. I don't know.. He said they are bad signs. He gave me augmentin for the tan mucus discharge I'm having.. I'm just devastated!
