Never ever outshine your boss. Tinubu is the boss of bosses including Buhari’s boss. So if Osinbajo does anyhow, he may have to go and contest under Pastor Chris Okotie’s FRESH PARTY after we excommunicate him from APC and from Lagos, even EFCC will be after him. Let him go and ask Atiku what Obasanjo did to him in 2007 |

Refused AkalaJ: Osinbajo social media handlers should stop acting desperate. Buhari has refused to endorse your principal, which is a big slap on his touted/rumoured ambition. You people should stop embarrassing Osinbajo by making him appear desperate. As if an open endorsement of his candidacy is the only real edge he can get as an aspirant. If the prof is truly interested in the race, then he should run on his own record and not depend on Buhari's endorsement because it may not be forthcoming (for reasons best known to Buhari alone).
For all we know, he may not even run at the end of the day, but you guys seem ready to cajole, and even burn bridges just to project a candidate that hasn't even indicated interest in succeeding his boss. |

Phones › Re: Its Official: That Blackberry Phone Is NOW Obsolete! by mayo47(m): 9:16am On Jan 06, 2022 |
Innovate or DIEvivaciousvivi: Classic BlackBerry phones stop working today
You can no longer use that old BlackBerry phone sitting at the bottom of your drawer somewhere.
On Tuesday, the company will stop running support for its classic devices running BlackBerry 10, 7.1 OS and earlier. This means all of its older devices not running on Android software will no longer be able to use data, send text messages, access the internet or make calls, even to 911.
While most mobile users have moved on from BlackBerry -- the last version of its operating system launched in 2013 -- the decision to discontinue support for its phones represents the end of what was once considered bleeding-edge technology.
BlackBerry (BB) has been mostly out of the phone business since 2016, but over the years it continued to license its brand to phone manufacturers, including TCL and more recently OnwardMobility, an Austin, Texas-based security startup, for a 5G Blackberry device running on Android software.
BlackBerry's old school cell phones with physical keyboards from the late 1990s and early 2000s were once so popular people nicknamed them "CrackBerries." The devices became a status symbol and fixture for people on Wall Street, celebrities like Kim Kardashian, and even former President Barack Obama, thanks in part to its great reputation for security. At its peak in 2012, BlackBerry had more than 80 million active users.
But Apple's touchscreen revolution with the iPhone in 2007 made BlackBerry's offerings appear lacking. It tried touch screens and slide-out keyboard models, with little success. It developed a few phones with no physical keyboard, but those were missing BlackBerry's key differentiator: its tactile keyboard. BlackBerry eventually gave up on its own software, embracing Android and layering its security software on top.

Nigeria's educational system is almost non-existent in comparison to other emerging countries (MexicoIndonesiaNigeriaTurkey) who are Nigeria's contemporary. Fixing the educational system would lead to improved innovation, logical reasoning, strategy etc which are all vital when thinking about solving societal problem in policy inadequacies, non-industrialization etc hustla: I think poverty is one of the causes and that can be solved by the government with massive industrialization and provision of the basics

Borrowing so much to fund the budget amidst overdependence on oil revenue from which a significant portion goes on to service existing foreign debt and re-current expenditure. With little or nothing for Capital expenditure which has a multiplier effect boosting variety of economic activity. backbencher: The harsh reason why Buhari is borrowing is simple
The oil price is and has never been at the level we need it to be to adequately fund our budget.
Oil amounts to a small percentage of our GDP but a large percentage of our budget revenue.
In 2012, our breakeven oil price was 122 dollars per barrel. In 2017, it had gone up to 139 dollars per barrel. Now it is 133 dollars per barrel
Oil prices were at 75 dollars per barrel in 2015 when Buhari took over, and have been as low as 20 to 30 dollars at some points since then.
Meanwhile our population and by extension our Forex needs have been growing
The alternative is to raise our tax to gdp ratio from its 6.4% to fund the budget. But that means taxing the 70% of Nigerians who don't pay income taxes due to working in the informal sector.
So we take loans to fund the budget.
Now oil is below 70 dollars per barrel, breakeven is 133 dollars meaning we lose 60 dollars per barrel of oil sold At one point under Buhari it has been as high as 80 to 100.dollars below the breakeven.
At the end of the day, we tax everyone in this country, including beggars, farmers, and even hawkers, to raise the tax to gdp ratio drastically, or we take loans and more loans to cover the difference between the actual crude oil price and the price it should be at to sustain us.
Because taxing everyone is not politically popular, we take loans instead.
( Buhari is a bad leader, and not someone I would vote for ever, so don't go there. I wish we could get some technocrats in office really
Again, Buhari is a bad leader who has failed in diversifying the economy which could have helped.) |
