Well, good you said in your opinion. I think Soludo still stands out amongst CBN governor we've had in the last 20 - 30 years.
Why do you think he wasnt principled and fearless at that time with the volume of the banking sector rejig he did?
Please dont confuse the Soludo of Anambra state governor and Soludo of CBN governor. They are 2 different beings.
Based on your analysis the people that come closest is Soludo & maybe a mix of Sanusi in the last 2/3 decades
I am not sure you understand yourself when you mentioned Genius and good economist. Perfection doesn't exist in a perspective
Ribadu sort who is a good economist Which Ribadu Abeg!!
Dsalvo: We do not need a Soludo-type in my opinion. We need a principled and fearless man for the sordid state our monetary affairs is in.
We are broke. Naira is so badly devalued now, deliberately, against the major currencies of the world making it very difficult for Nigerians and Nigeria to engage in the hugely valuable sector of international trading and business.
This was deliberate sabotage caused by our own fellow Nigerians too who are raking in billions. Those characters, the forex mafia and cartels, will fight to protect their empire.
As marketers are currently fighting subsidy removal desperately, vested interest will also fight a CBN Governor tasked with helping Tinubu destroy the harmful dual exchange rate (official and black market) that has become standard and accepted as part of the Nigerian monetary policy.
Totally disgraceful to Nigeria is the fact that black market rate is the default rate everyone has to use as forex from bank is virtually impossible to access because of corruption. We are in a huge and self-destructive mess.
Nigeria therefore needs an Elliot Ness/Ribadu sort who is a good economist. We don't need a genius economist who is a coward, not particularly principled and not able to withstand threats and intimidation .
Respect for reality is important. The Nigerian reality means we are in a period where everything has to be torn down and built from scratch.
For that stage in a nations development you convene brave pioneers everywhere, who don't mind getting their hands dirty, and not those only used to working in Sweden or Canada-type sanity and will break down once corruption and vested interests start fighting back.
Wrong Analogy!! Ladies, Pray to God for Guidance. This is a wrong advise for either men or women. A man keeping his dating options open to 3 ladies and each of those ladies keeping their dating option to 2 other guys might not eventually marry anyone in this dating pool of around 12 to 15 people.
People need to remember that Dangote refinery is a private enterprise and not a public enterprise. The FG is also a shareholder in Dangote Refinery via NNPC and will always want to max out profitability irrespective of change in dynamics. Its a capitalist market.
juvewalex: He didn't explain why local production won't reduce fuel price , if you're producing in Nigeria, will there still be a landing cost ?
Nigeria government is never straight forward in dealing with its citizens.
Definitely, he isn't U20 years. Nigeria football will never improve with this model. The Argentine they won yesterday will thrash them in years to come due to proper football development. Absolutely, You can't cheat nature!
EcoBrick: Ibrahim Muhammad, a native of Minna, Niger state is heard dedicating his goal against host Argentina in ongoing Under-20 World cup tournament, to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Tinubu administration is about to kick off in a bad note Imagine federal ministry departments and agencies have not been payed may salary
Before they usually gets thier salary Before 28 of every month
It is about to get worse for Nigerians
The truth and happy thing about Tinubu's administration is am not gonna pity anyone anymore since have realised that the masses are the problem of Nigeria A south African friend told me that if tinubu gets more than hundred vote in this election then it means Nigerians are sick and the tribalism hidden in us is out openly
Foundational Education system model of cram and pour down same during exams has affected most critical thinking capacity
Kobojunkie: You can only do you if you are able to critically reason yourself and your surroundings, something you attempted to point out most are unable to do. Culturally, Nigerians are not generally raised to be independent in their thoughts and reasoning. They are mostly raised to copy the successes and paths taken by others before them which explains a lot of what we have today.
"The system rewards their labour better despite not necessarily working harder than others" - You can go to medical school for years to also benefit. What a very ignorant statement!
jedisco: Lol... let me shock you by telling you most docs/nurses gain more from the system than most of the masters students while arguably contribute same/less
First they dont pay 15k but arrive with the full gamut of their family. They are exempt from IHS They can many times be exempt from the 20hr rule The get the full benefits of working for the NHS.. pensions e.t.c The system rewards their labour better despite not necessarily working harder than others
The masters students do not benefit any of these but contribute significantly higher sums.
I wonder which group is a drain on the system. The health workers perhaps
Goke7: The Uk and the schools are no fools, if they will get more from undergraduates, they won't need to give dependents of postgraduates visas, It's a numbers game and that's what they did. How many undergraduates are married compared to postgraduates, this is no raffle draw or charity but a pure numbers game. And the data shows it all. They needed the dependent revenue that undergraduates can't give, period.
Joker! Speaking like he's done some survey. Please speak with facts not sentiment.....Lol @ "A lot will surely return home"
Goke7: Many Nigerians will not remain in the uk too, for so many the Uk is a transition point. Many will not get work visas so they can’t stay and from statistics Nigerians have much less overstayers compared to other nationalities. A lot will surely return home or relocate elsewhere.
The stats is about dependant to a students not about student population generally. Nigeria has the highest number of dependant but not the highest student population
Gilgil: The UK Government was already planning to limit immigration.
However, the guy's utterances gave validation to the policy.
Nigerians are not the highest or even second highest numbers in that wise.
You don't see Indians and other Asians who drive the highest numbers of likewise immigration in the UK coming to speak like this.
The UK Government is holding India's priced diamond, Other European countries drove slavery and all, yet their citizens don't discuss those to shine before a camera. Thy tell you to move on.
The guy could have just held his opinion with tact and moved on, since the UK Government had already decided, right?
Validation and opinions like this have been used to do things
The stats is about dependant to a students not about student population generally. Nigeria has the highest number of dependant but not the highest student population
Minjim: What's all these? As if the UK Government is oblivious to it. The UK already has the statistics. Nigerians aren't even the most populous migrants in UK. Indians and Pakistanis are doing this more than Nigerians and the UK Government knows it.
Potentially richer?? Not anymore. Oil advantage days are almost gone. The budget of NHS (Health System) alone is more than Nigera's budget. How will out of the blues Nigeria become richer? Lol @ Potential
Dsalvo: Precisely. Besides, what most dont realize is that the UK is not an innocent Party at all. They cynically use schemes like post grad visa, wihth allowance for dependants, to shore up the stagnant economy of the UK.
They rake in billions of pounds from students and their dependants through direct visa fees to tuition fees for British Universities that are several time more than 'home students' are charged.
Dependants of students of course can work full time and they pay taxes to the UK while the entire family will rent property, spend money and generally be an asset to the UK economy.
When there is then the usual economic 'hiccup' or latest announcement of downgraded gowth figure, tbey begin the usual blame game that led them to Brexit detrimentally to the UK economy till today.
It is for Nigeria to work as a nation, because we have a potentially far richer and more beautiful nation than the UK, so the good ones amongst our people stay home to build Nigeria and stop recieving insult and denigrating treatments from everyone everywhere be it from Sudanese, South Africans and Ghanaians to Canadians, Americans and Britons.
If you do not make yourself someone others can respect then do not cry when the inevitable disrespect, from even those most junior to you, arrives at your feet.

Good Response. I like fact-based responses like this. Keep it up
plaindealer: The American delegation to inaugurations is always led by the ambassador in that country, but when it comes to friendly countries that need extra recognition, they always send a delegation with a cabinet member, members of Congress and many more
This is the American delegation to Brazil's inauguration, they sent just the Chargé d’Affaires, common embassy staff and an SA.
Do you see any secretary of state there?
The delegation to Kenya was also minuscule.
Ours is the largest I've seen in long time
You don't know anything about America so just keep quiet.
Joker! Well, you can't see beyond your thinking. Large congregation indeed. He didn't even send the Secretary of State. These are mostly tier 2/3 US govt officials. Just like Buhari sending Garba Shehu and his contemporary to a Togolese event. He wouldn't send this calibre if it was South Africa or Brazil in South America
plaindealer: Seriously, that's a large delegation.
Nigerians no longer have a democracy and a country again. Why should an executive president impose or influence legislative leaders. BTW, I think the Chief Judge of the state should be appointed by the Chief Justice of the federation and not the state government. We only have a seperation of power on paper. In reality, no seperation of power/checks and balances exist.
Say NO to Rubber Stamp People Representatives
Acekidc4: Wike the Wicked, I agree with you Sir................. Tinubu Choice is the Best...........he knows how to Choose Competent Fellows.
How tribe take enter the talk! Or how do you know he's Igbo. He isnt far from the truth
darkwan: stop talkin nonesense....you igbos even have more worser leaders.... a ol region was imposed with sit at home and your leaders cant do shi shi about it....
Another Legacy ko! Na Buhari give Dangote money wey use build am. If he was looking for Legacy they would have gone to revive the refineries in Warri, Kaduna & PH
FreeStuffsNG: Awesome!! Another Legacy of President Muhammadu Buhari. May God bless President Muhammadu Buhari. May God bless Dangote. May God bless Nigeria for ever!
Saw this somewhere. Thought i should share. Mostly targeted at those that come to UK on student visa and plan to switch visa to tier 2 without concluding studies
LordviccoDaGuru: "Welcome back Mr. President! Nigeria is glad to have you back home. Your steadfast dedication to the country and commitment to improving the lives of Nigerians is truly admirable. Your recent trip to the UK where you received medical treatment has shown us once again how much you care about your health and well-being, so that you can continue to lead us towards a brighter future. We stand in solidarity with you and remain confident in your ability to steer the ship of state towards progress and development. Long live Nigeria!"
