Pls I need advice. I have Toyota Avensis 2007 model. Two days ago I experienced some malfunction in the vehicle. First I noticed that the fan is not working but the vehicle can start and that the sign P/S is showing on the dashboard. Secondly the steering is strong and cannot turn. Later in the afternoon, I tried it again and I notice that its working well again. Yesterday in the morning I tried it and discovered that the problem have started again and later it stopped. This morning same problem was there again. pls I need to know what to do and the cause.

Low battery voltage can cause that. Your car uses an electronic power steering which is different from the mechanical type which uses fluid for lubrication. Do you have a good battery. Best bet is to get another which would save you stress. That engine is quite expensive priced it this year for 500k. Wasn't suprised though cos it shares same engine with some lastest kia and hyundia

I have gotten a similar issue with my battery going down everyday after driving. I contacted an auto electrician who told me the faulty was with the alternator. he changed a part inside the alternator and problem solved till date.

so your problem would be with your alternator.

You think the problem is solved. Wait some few more days and see what happens

my friends toyota camry 2000 model it has misfiring on cylinder 1 n 2 on removing the spark plugs we notice the plugs on cylinder 1 n 2 were soaked with engine oil.
And after a while started bringing out smoke.
We called a mech n he said we have to buy half engine.

What kind of are you using?

Check for leakages around

Do you have a blue smoke coming out from your exhaust?

If all is ok. Prepare for another engine

Check oil level
What kind of oil filter was used
If all seems ok check your oil pump. That engine would be buried soon

So the problem is actually the PS pump which costs 35k new and 22k Belgium. The mechanic said that the Belgium part is better than the new one, is that really true?why do Mechanics always claim that Belgium parts are better than new ones?

Sunstandard parts every where, if you re quoted a brand new ps pump for 80k would you buy it?

Where I buy my batteries,though in lagos,they usually run checks on the car to ensure it doesn't have leakages and checks alternators if charging well before they install the new batteries,this they do to ensure the car is ok for them to give warranty on the new battery,I normally get a one year warranty and have used some of the batteries for more than 6yrs no issues at all.I buy from Dimaps Olowu.
You can look out for reliable battery dealers around you and not spare parts dealers selling batteries alongside or a battery charger selling batteries,but a good distributer that gets directly from manufacturers.they should have such facilities too

One simple way to check if ur charging circuits is good in ur car is to remove one of the terminal head while the engine is idle,if it goes off,then you need to check ur alternators

Your point is one of the reasons why we have ecu problems and sensor problems in Nigeria. A very bad practice I must tell you. Now the big question is what takes back the current within the circuitin your car after you must have removed a battery terminal?

In my own case have changed my battery to no avail it still runs down even d electricians can't seem to find d fault,alternator working well we changed d cables connecting to d battery still runs down, now he s suggesting we change d kick because it started have hard starting lately but I'm afriad dat won't solve it. Please wat else can I do its Honda bulldog. Plz state the type of car you have a complain about. The wiring on your wheel speed sensor could have been snapped out or it could be the wheel speed sensors are bad. Your brake servo can cause this. Do you have your ABS light illuminated on your instrument cluster

No engine specification? Well a lot could be wrong starting from

A low pressure fuel pump

A speed reference sensor/rpm sensor

Bad cam shaft sensor

Would advice you run a scan if your sharon is obd2 compliant, if you in lagos call mayor on 08165520837 or 08156087872 to get a solution
