House pls can I get help on a Rav 4 2006, 4 cylinders, it was drove to Ibadan, air bag light came on, so at d process of d rewire checking d cause he remove SRS plug under d steering which is yellow wire, trying to bridge d pins he got a spark&motor refuse to start since then. pls can I get a guide on that or any DIY to enable d car start. no security.

Pop up your hood. Check all fuses located in your intelligence power distribution module aka fuse box. Also check all fuses located by the left hand corner under Neath your steering column. If you have a multimeter you can test for continuity. What previous job was done prior to your car problem? Is your car horn working

Baba siana abeg help me i bought a volkswagen passat from this forum. The passat is carrying an audi a4 engine my problem is clucth. The conversion i just cant explain. The bottom is 2.0 while the top is 1.8 engine the clucth just keep failing

may be you have seen one alternator draining the battery but with me i have never seen one

You might not have seen one. But I have seen one. The culprit happened to be the alternator From experience would start in this order

1) battery
2) alternator

If both are fine then a parasitic drain test needs to be carried out. Also check for voltage drop

My dear car gurus of nairaland , please help me out on this. My car (toyota camry pencil light) has been performing well until about 3weeks ago when I noticed that the car refuses to start only in the mornings until I tap on the auto-kick. Thereafter, it works perfectly until the next morning again when it will refuse to start again until I hit the auto-kick. Get a replacement starter motor from a known good source. You said you have changed the starter motor 3 times? Get some1 else to help you check. That mechanicbis drilling a large hole in your pocket

I have a Toyota camry 1999 4 plugs engine. The check light came up recently and I took the car for scanning and this code 'P0340 Camshaft position sensor A circuit Bank 1 or Single sensor' . I Google this code went to my Mechanic that I want my camshaft sensor to be replaced. Though, I don't have difficulty in starting the ignition and the car did not stall. Now we replace the the sensor and the check light disappear. I used the car through out yesterday morning and afternoon but at evening the check light was on again.

I did another scan and the same code P0340 came up again.. please what could be wrong again? Is it that the replaced sensor is faulty again or I we missing out something.... please I need your support on want to do or check. ..

Did you get a known good cam sensor? By the way the second pix showed is the speed refernce mark sensor

Good evening House, I am having serious issues with spark plugs for the past two months. During this period, my Auto Mech has changed the spark plug up to 4 times and the car still vibrates when not in motion. He has also cleaned the Carburator, did Oil change and all other abrakadabra.

Please what is the recommended spark plug for a Mazda 323F GLX 2.0i V6 (Europe Version) DOHC Automatic Gear.

there is the car i wanna pay for tomorrow morning (Toyota corolla 2001-2002 model) the major purpose is to resell cos i have a car i am using already. buh the issue is that the sell of the car said the car didnt start wen it bought it in US cos the major aim for him to buy the car was to bring goods to Nigeria which are even more expensive than the car. he once brought same car for my colleague in the office buh this one was working well wen he brought it for him.

He said he was gonna sell it for 600k so i managed to price is for 500k my issue now is that i don't knw much about buying such cars..

is it Advisable to pay for the car knowing fully well that i really dont knw the issue it might have cos i would go to wharf tomao to inspect the car as soon as it comes of from the container

thanks guys for your suggestions . The strainer was clogged with some kind of metal powders. was washed thoroughly and refilled wit Type 4 transmission fluid. car now moves fine. I just hope this will be the end of the matter.

lesson learnt, to start servicing transmission every year if not 6 months sef.

. Go and sin no more and preach the gospel to other car users

D b33 easily gets drain....I even bought a new b33......same result.....an electrician said d alternator charges very low......plus my acc fan .....stops n starts working atimes.......now it has stopped finally.....no air coming from d acc compartment. Plus.....if I fire.....my mpg doesn't fire more than 3mpg....even if I throttle harder.

If your obd2 port actually powers up the diagnostic tester & the right details for the car such as engine type, regoin and so on is not input into the device. You can have a communication link issue. Is thr scan tool black and red in colour?

I have tried to scan it but d diagnostic plug in my car seems bad as most scanners can't recognize it, am left with manual trouble shooting besides d car is 96 i guess

Yeap I press a particular fuse for my engine to start in d fuse/relay box sometimes after stalling sometimes as d fuse unhooks

If I May know what type of scan tool was being used?

I travel with this ride to and fro for d Xmas and cover abt 500km throughout d period. I avoided d ac to avoid stalling at idle but I discovered dt my car still jerks and engine light blinks at arnd 100 to 120kmper hr speed n stall thereafter sometimes or continue at other times.

I have cleaned d nozzle and injector as advised, I noticed some improvement but symptom persists.

I want to replace my fuse and relay box BC sometimes d engine fuse unhooks n I have to press it down in d box for d engine to start.

Mechanic advice me to change my spark plugs dt it leaks, plus all plug wire. He insists my fuel filter n pump are okay but I am persuade to change them to.

Engine light blinking is a sign of a serious misfire.misfire problem ranges from weak fuel pump, cloghed up fuel filter,dirty air filter,fouled spark plugs. Bad ignition coil. Bad speed reference sensor and many more. As for your IPDM. From your explanation you have to press a particular fuse for the car to start. Take out that particular fuse and trace it with the wiring digram you have inside the cover of the IPDM. Check for burnt traces all round. Something is going on there

Forget about the present atf you have inside.get a new fluid

A clogged strainer.

The impact made the dirty particles fall and allow transmission fluid to be pumped, but they will be back . Hopefully you might be able to escape with a strainer replacement and fluid drain and refill.

The "op" claimed his fluid was looking shinning as ever. Let him continue driving. This is what I call "Acradabada"

Thanks brother I just fixed it now it was discovered that the exhaust gasket was burned and when it was replaced the D4 stop blinking

Change to manual transmission, for a 1994 make its easy and affordable.

Audi a4 quattro, auto transmission, tiptronic, 1.8t, 2001 model.
Had a minor accident dt affected the gear box bottom pan of the above car causing transmission oil leakage.
Please anyone with idea where I can source the recommended oil locally should help. My location is Enugu. Thanks & God bless

Hi guys, so I drive a '94 mitsubishi space wagon 2000 GLXi with automatic transmission. Unfortunately I hadn't changed d transmission oil for yrs and d gear system packed up. The situation now is dat the car doesn't move at all...not even an inch, regardless of how much u push down d pedal. A mechanic I showed it to suggested dat the ''wiring" of the gears (wateva dat means) must have worn out but could possibly be repaired by a gearbox specialist, and he recommended one.
Another person told me its best to just replace the gearbox entirely, but it could be quite expensive. Pls guys I need ur advice here. Has anyone had such experience with this particular car and how did u resolve it?? Any idea how much the gearbox for that specific car costs, and any reliable place I can get it??

Best way out is to have a replacement gearbox. You didn't change your transmission oil for years. check the nature of your atf fluid to start with
