Checking wouldn't have any effect but leaving it just the way it is would cause an adverse effect on gear.

Just wondering what the problem could be for the Honda passport. Ever since the engine and gearbox was changed to toks I noticed N would come on the dash even when the car is in D. i Scanned the vehicle toyota matrix.. it displayed this codes
p1760 Shift solenoid valve st, slt circuit
p1346 vvt sensor/Camshaft Position sensor, circuit range performance

Location of this car. Also what previous job was done on it. You might have to be dealing with a sludge problem here, variable valve timing intelligence. What brand of oil have you been using as well?

As for p1760. Solenoid is located inside the transmission

Run away from those quack vets they absolutely know nuffin. Use this combination

1) white flagyl
2) amoxil 500mg
3) diastop
4) jik to clean the dog's environment
5) glucose

N.B: stop all form of feeding for now only administer gluocose and insert the gluocose solution into his mouth. Amoxil should be given every 6hrs.I hope this helps

VSA is your vehicle stability assist. For your 2008 you should have a button to disable this feature. If the you press the button and the light doesn't go off then you have having an issue somewhere. To know the root cause run a scan and post fault error.

Yes, I have used the tool. You agree Maxi Sys can only program BMW and MB. When you say Maxi would confidently work on Most Europeans, remember we are talking about computer reflash, and not just setting changes.

What do you mean by online programming?

You haven't done online coding? It does Volkswagen, Audi. Works very well on Chrysler, dodge & jeep as well

You might just be having an issue with your instrument panel. But first run a diagnosis through to see what code(s) you can pull out from the computer box

You are getting it wrong. If you are using Autel pass through connected to a laptop with OEM subscription, what do you need Autel subscription for? Are you saying you must have Maxi Sys before you can program outside of Maxi? You are only limiting yourself to BMW and MB if you are sticking to Maxi. Of course if you don't have Autel's sub, you cant program with Maxi, but not with their pass through. How many MB come to your shop for programming? There are more Japs on the road, and Maxi Sys are useless with those.

And if you have many MB and BMW customers, why not pay for Autel's sub and charge accordingly?

It was setup cost that triggered this debate.

Have you by chance used this tool. I thinks you mixing things up. I think you should use this tool so by then you would be able to change your mind set. Most European vehicles the maxi Sys elite would confidently work on. Not to forget the online programming capability does not require a pass thru for that. You need the autel subscription for this. With this you have two subscription to deal with. Autel and the dealership subscription. Not to forget the maxi Sys family has got a wide variety to choose from.

You don't need Maxi Sys Elite to program, but you need its J2534 box. This can be installed on most WinXp and Win7 laptops and hooked up to the vehicle's OBD. Apart from Mercedes and BMW, Maxi will not fare well. You cannot program Hyundai with Maxi; you will need their software on a PC, and subscription. Those OEM programs don't run on Android, which is Maxi's OS.

My point here is that with a good pass through, PC and subscription, you can program. Leave Maxi out of the equation. Discounting the subscription, hardware will not cost 3500usd like you stated. Autel's pass through is 800usd, which can be purchased alone. Add that to another 700usd for laptop. That is 1500usd. Then you pay for subscription. You can even do pay/day or week or month for some manufacturers. Since you have the device, (and most likely a laptop), you are almost there. You don't need Autel's update subscription to program.

On the amount to charge, it depends on your business model, but on-the-fly programming (where you don't need to pay subscription) will cost you, the technician around 43k per job, irrespective of brand. There are other details.

The bolded is very wrong. Maxi Sys comes in various how do you intend to programme ICM for bmwF10 without autel's on line subscription. You would never get that possible. How do you intend to programme an ism for Benz GL450. With out the autel's subscription you would never be given access. It's something am currently facing now and that's the reality. Only using my BMW icom for beemar jobs now

Not sure where the 3500usd came from. Drew Tech that is arguably the best is below 1700usd.

If it has to be done, it has to be done. There are problems you CANNOT solve without reprogramming. At some point, you will just start offering the service. If you don't want to spend money buying your own hardware, there is a way around it, but your customers end up paying more.

Maxi Sys elite with 2yrs free update sells for 3500usd inclusive of the j2534 box. After expiration of the free update you pay 1350usd . To navigate through the delearship server you pay the appropriate fee depending on what service you need. Ford for instance do not joke with this. Each time you log in you are charged exclusive of getting a pass thru software from their server. With the aforementioned what do you think should be an appropriate fee for this service on the Nigerian soil

If it's a hyundai vehicle all you need is a Gscan scan tool to do that. I have an autel j2534 pass thru tool but I can't confidently say if it supports hyundai and kia. I might need to get back to you on that

@AutoElectNG, please pardon me for not updating this post as often as i should have done. Please put yourself in my shoes. (I've replaced 2 front wheel speed sensors @30k, ABS Pump Assembly @65k, 2 transmission VSS @25k each, the transmission itself @100k + 2 4 litres of WS Gear oil @34k and the Instrument Cluster @30k). Bros, i needed time to recuperate...

Well, the issue was actually the Instrument cluster... After replacing the instrument cluster, everything worked fine - meaning my old transmission and everything else was working fine.

It's really hard troubleshooting these modern semi-complex electrical and computer controlled vehicles. If this is the case with a small 2010 Toyota Corolla, then what would be the case on more complex brands like Mercedes Benz, BMW, Audi and the likes...

It's a learning curve and I'm sure someone out there will see this post early enough and not have to go through what i went through.

How do we move from here?

1. The speed sensor input (wiring between the Skid Control ECU and the Instrument Cluster aka combination meter) needs to be checked, see picture 1

2. The speed sensor output (wiring between the Main Body ECU, the sliding roof ECU, the ECM, and the Instrument Cluster aka combination meter Junction Box, the navigation receiver assembly, the radio receiver, the tire pressure warning ECUs as well as the Stereo Component amplifier) needs to be checked

To my mind, this is where your problem lies and not in a transmission replacement


3. What makes you certain that your vehicle is Canadian? Did you run a VIN check?

Even if you run a VIN check, it may be necessary to run the VIN check against manufacturer databases of vehicles of your make/model with known faults? So please send me your VIN via WhatsApp or Email so I can run a check as I earlier requested, I do not recommend posting VINs online.

I strongly believe that the transmission was not procured pro bono, neither was it installed pro bono. I stand to be corrected though.

Is your ride installed with a V6 engine. If yes then it come with a 1MZ-FE engine.1MZ-FE engine notorious for sludge build up when you use the wrong oil. You might want to check up for sluge build up. Would advise on both banks if your engine comes with 6cylinders

Is your car equipped with a smart key system. I hope the wiring diagram helps you in tracing your car's problem. Good luck

I doubt if this wiring diagram is meant for your car. I see no circuit down to the "combination Meter" and this is still one area you haven't checked.
