TonyeBarcanista:Made in Nigeria is not a new phenomenon in global market. Congrats to Akwa Ibom for the pencils, it adds another success story to our global footprint. Tonye, look on the skirt on the assistant VP. Thats Adire, an invention in fabric styling that originated amongst Yoruba (pre-Nigeria). It can be counted now as a Nigerian success no doubt! |
Nightmareo07:Durotimi is what is shortened to Rotimi. Its a Yoruba name. Giwa is not a muslim name in West. That will be like saying Danladi is a muslim name in North. Giwa had been in use in Yorubaland before Islam. It is in same class for names like Agiri, Seriki, Dauda, Gbadamosi, and so on.... |
In response to this article, it must be said that prior to a Nigeria, Ibo women did not have much social rights to begin with. The most obvious of social and cultural privileges were denied to them by the customary laws and ethos of Iboland itself. Since the begining of Nigeria, incremental improvrments have been made to improve civilization and social norms of Ibo, latest of which was passed very recently by Supreme Court recognizing, in opposition of Ibo culture, that women can inherit their deceased spouse and daughters can inherit their deceased fathers. These push to civilize and bring the group to modernity is typically championed by civilized groups external to it. The British for instance introduced Ibo to urban settlement. They also gave it centralized administration with introduction of warrant chiefdoms. But it's the Yorubas that have played a larger role as surrogate and taught the Ibo a standard of its language and helped promote cohesion among previously disparate and non-relating communities. Yoruba also brought and instituted Christianity into their midst and which helped to shape and refined the custom towards modern civilization. When osus in Iboland discovered that what is denied to them and forbidden for their children were accessible without condition or status in Yorubaland, they began a new wave of migration to escape persecution in East and find liberty in West for them and their children. The migration continues till today. Many Ibo elite today gained social status change in Yorubaland and fearful of returning to East and stripped of their liberty, have vowed never to return to Iboland. So Ibos have capacity to change their fortune and that of their land by simply acting within its own customs to redefine and rebrand for modern civilization and stop waiting on outsiders to give it relief against self-defeating and non-advancing static existence. |

Here is recommendation: 1. Debar him 2. Find out if he had been having sex with the child while he was still police service. If yes, give him a dishonorable discharge backed to the date when she first became his victim. He owes the Force all retirement and salary payments paid to him since the date his dishonorable discharge begins. 3. Prosecute him in court of law 4. Enter a child sexual offender record on his passport and driver license so he will never ever be allowed visa to travel to any community that protects child safety. 5. Forward his profile to Interpol just in case he tries to beat the restriction and sneaks through other countries to abscond from Nigeria. This is a motherfvcker for real! This ba3tard is worse than Yellow. ![]() |

ObiOkpor:The bold is key! Should not there be an entry standard upon arrival to first conduct a bio and medically certify candidates? If there was one the process would have detected his exhaustion and put him in quarantine for few days recovery. Then return him to the test again to validate readiness. Because of the rigour of cadet training, no candidate should proceed if they failed bio twice, back to back, that student should be advised to withdraw. |
Emeritusseun:RIP to the soldier. Animals wanted to play, he was telling them he is tired. This boy didnt know when he walked through their gates he left behind the world of humans and entered that of beasts. He completed mission to join Army. The parents should insist he is buried as a soldier, in an Army uniform. Ogbeni, NYSC is service to Nigeria. Army is service to Nigeria. He didnt need NYSC since he was going into military. |
peteregwu:Foremost, who is the id10t that believes Nigeria will loose almost 8million jobs in a span of 2yrs under this administration? If you are here please raise your voice for identification. 8million is the number of registered voters in five states of SE zone. Atiku says about that many people lost jobs and income in less than 2yrs....and the economy is still buoyant? What a creep! It is advisable in a credit ranked economy to take loans to improve rating and build trust with creditors. We all know Nigeria has credit rating. Lagos State grew its own economy and became best in class by incrementally improving its creditworthiness through loans. |
Which country? This cannot be Nigeria....must be Federal Republic of Biafra! |
AutoReportNG:Op, you have no imagination. Can't you see this is a ritual? Zoom in and look closely at the broom, then zoom and inspect the rug inch by inch. This is not ordinary broom, this is APC broom! If they used vacuum cleaner it will corrupt and leave patterns in its tail plus rip fiber strands out of the fine, high quality weave. Using APC broom ensures that the surface is not corrupted but remains rich and consistent. ![]() |
Franchise21:You are in Yoruba zone now, be objective. We dont pull numbers and scorecard out of our @$$. What criterias are you using to rank them? |
Ibos have a shot at 2019 afterall. Nigeria will have an Ibo as President in 2019 if all Ibos in Nigeria will support Anyaso to win the primary and become PDP Presidnetial candidate and then queue behind him to win the election in 2019. This is your chance, Ibos must not blow this one. Update... Never mind! He is a small boy with small god. He wants House of Assembly seat. |
Ndonu101:So you gave me 500naira to hold for you and that you will come back at a future date to get your money. I used the money for something else hoping when you return for your money it will be available. The money got stuck and I am unable to retrieve it on time. You showed up to get your money. I told you give me few more weeks to produce it. Eventually I produced the money and give back to you. Now, tell me how quick and ready you will be able to trust 500naira in my care again in future. During election you are dealing with emotions, sensibilities and perceptions....not court rulings. You can take your court rulings to an academia for scholars to ponder on, but the electorate have a different way of scoring candidates and credibility is one of them. Saraki is not well trusted in public opinion and when you bring out SGBN issue you further erode his credibility, whether or not a judge ruled in his favor. To take you back to my 500naira example, I am a risk to give money to hold in trust. I returned your money to you, did I not? So why am i a risk on future trusts with 500naira? So yes, Justice Nyako may have given SGBN a clean bill but the people still hold grudge against his family for destroying their trust. LOOK, all im saying is you will do damage than good with SGBN and SARAKI mentioned together. Drop it! |
OP, You opened a can of worm by attempting to clear SGBN with these lies. There are records in public domain as far back as 1990 and even earlier about this bank operations in Nigeria. With the kind of bad acts and criminality perpetuated by the Sarakis you are better off not mentioning anything SGBN during his campaign. Even if your opponents bring it up find a way to dodge it....dont engage them trying to put up a PR show. We are in age of internet. |
The last may not have been heard of the reckless Boardroom manipulations that crippled the once beloved Societe Generale Bank of Nigeria (SGBN) as exclusive details of the charges to be preferred against some of its directors by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) under the leadership of the Former Chairman, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, an Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), at the time of collapse obtained exposed a can of worms in the board management of the bank. Sources within the anti-corruption agency disclosed that specifically, the chairman, Council of Elders Northern Union, Dr. Olusola Saraki who is also father of the Kwara State Governor, Dr. Bukola Saraki and other directors of the crippled bank had been investigated and were due to be arraigned on a 30-count charge before high-power politics and maneuver swept off Ribadu and his team at the EFCC who had sworn to ensure that persons who played any role(s) in the alleged looting of the bank are brought to book. As the July 31, 2008, deadline of a two-month extension granted to the embattled SGBN by the country's apex bank, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to enable it tidy its merger arrangements, draws near, it is apparent the submerged charge sheet which is key to the roots of the bank's troubles is very much relevant. The suit, had it proceeded, would have held at the Lagos, Federal High Court, and would have been between the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Dr. Olusola Saraki, joined with nine others to wit :- Robert Mbonu, Hafiz Bakare, Toyin Idowu, G. A. Oyenola, Yinka Fagbemi, Kennedy Izuagbe, Dele Iluyomade, Noah Olopoenia and Lana Haastrup as accused persons. National Daily gathered that Ribadu intended to prosecute Bukola Saraki but could not because he enjoys the immunity clause bestowed on serving governors by the constitution of the country. The trial of Bukola's father and his accomplice would however had commenced pending the expiration of the son's tenure as governor but for the tenacity of Bukola Saraki who as a member of President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua's kitchen cabinet worked round the clock to ensure that the suit got thwarted and Ribadu disgraced. Bukola was also identified as the man behind the ouster of Ibrahim Larmode Documents made available to National Daily revealed eight of the 30-count charge were directed at Dr. Olusola Saraki alone, and three solely for the defunct bank's MD Monu. The charges hinged mainly on transactions without collaterals spanning periods from 1999 to 2003 include that Dr. Olusola Saraki while being Director of SGBN Plc between 2002 and 2003 at Lagos the Lagos Judicial Division of the Federal High Court and having personal interest in the grant of a loan facility accounting to N210,000,000.00 (Two Hundred and Ten Million Naira) granted by the Societe Generale Bank Nigeria Plc to Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kwara State Chapter and failed in his duty to declare the nature of his interest in PDP and the loan to the Board of Directors of Societe Generale Bank Nigeria Plc and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 18(11) of the Banks and Other Financial Institutions Act Cap B3 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004. That Dr. Olusola Saraki while being a Director of Societe Generale Bank Nigeria Plc between 2002 and 2003 at Lagos in the Judicial Division of the Federal High Court recklessly connected with the grant of a loan in the sum of N210,000,000.00 (Two Hundred and Ten Million Naira) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kwara State Chapter with no security in contravention of the law being in force at the time and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 16 (1)(a) of the Failed Bank (Recovery of Debts) and Financial Malpractices in Banks Act Cap F2 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004 That Dr. Olushola Saraki while been a Director of Societe Generale Bank Nigeria Plc between 2002 and 2003 at Lagos in the Lagos Judicial Division of the Federal High Court negligently connected with approval of a loan in the sum of N210,000,000.00 (Two Hundred and Ten Million Naira) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kwara State Chapter with no security in contravention of the law being in force at the time and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 16 (1)(a) of the Failed Bank (Recovery o f Debts) and Financial Malpractices in Bank Act Cap F2 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004. That black box with blue label in center is a new age pbx. Compare with legacy pbx managed by operator in third picture in first set posting above. The new age pbx is using SD-WAN (software designed - WAN access) connection to do packet routing.

alfa0:The old telecom system used a technology called relay-switched connections. This was in the 60s when they used cathode ray tubes and electro-mechanical toggles as signal relays in Teleco Central Office. In the homes people had rotary dial phones back then - see first picture. In the office operators were hired to manage pbx - see second and third picture. In the 80s and early 90s a new technology called circuit-switched connections came into vogue. Telecos installed switches made from integrated circuits with transistors. See second set pictures, Teleco switch in first. Touch tone phones were in vogue then - second. In office, pbx is smaller, no criss crossed cable, instead of operator they are managed by receptionist - third picture. By comparison it cost less to make calls on the touch tone than it did on the rotary. Technology brings cost down. From about middle 90s till now we are on new technology called packet switched communication. All packet switched systems use IP addressing to communicate. Within this we also have wireless and optics (fiber) serving as transport mode...but they all use IP addressing and packet switching to signal and deliver media. In the new technology individuals have extended their home or office phones into their pockets with mobile devices. The devices still use touch tone input (called dtmf), whether its keyboard or touch screen, whether with finger or pen style. See third set post for a modern pbx and its relationship with other devices. In comparison calls today are significantly lower than the previous two legacy systems. In the age of time division multiplexing (TDM) you can't make international call everyday and not end up broke by end of week. Back then you place international call and wrap it up very quickly to minimize cost. It is not so today. TDM has been replaced by a new signalling platform called Asterisk and another one called Freeswitch. These are offered under open systems internetworking agreements. You can place international call now, spend an hour on phone, and do it everyday and still have plenty changed left in pocket for weekend. So when new technologies are deployed, regulators have to study impacts and come up with guidelines to get paid by licensing, levying or taxing. Law enforcement also review for criminal coding to protect society. Then you also have interest groups that will lobby government for power to protect consumers and subscribers...example Consumer Protection Agency. Sonetimes this is a function under regulators. So in a nutshell, each time technology improve expect rates to drop on your calls. Before i make international call i go online and make screenshot of my mtn balance. After my call i look on my phone and see how long i talked. I return online and check my recharge balance again. They know me at mtn now, they do not mess with my bills and recharge. I became a pain in their neck. I would have told you how much a call "truly" cost per minute of setup and talk time, for both domestic and international but i cant do it without divulging additional secret that in actuality could bankrupt some telecos if made a public knowledge. The info you have here is sufficient for knowledge. Remember, under packet switching and asterisk signalling you are better off getting your originating number from abroad delivered to you than having it masked by a local number (DID). It costs less! ![]()

feldido:Telecommunication calls are complex and involves different layers to make it work smoothly. International calls are transported over carrier trunks. To get from abroad to Nigeria it will go through Interconnection Carriers. There is Originating Carrier and Terminating Carrier. The carriers make money by tolling the calls in their switch and settle the billing with the originating carrier. Originating carrier are paid by the person that made the call. The call is charged for setup and talk time. International calls nowadays are cheap compared to years ago. When a call enters a Nigerian Toll switch the carrier for that switch will do a dip in the signal to obtain originating number and terminating number. This number can be handled or processed in a number of ways. It can be delivered as anonymous, it can be delivered with a name and number, it can be delivered as just name or just number and they can strip the originating number and forward it with a new but local number. If they do that, two things happen on the billing side. 1. The international call is billed 100% by their toll switch. 2. The receiver of the call in Nigeria is billed by the local number that delivered the call to their phone. This double billing and thats their gain on the call itself. They also gain by remitting less tax than the accounted calls demand. On regulatory side (NCC), government two things happen also. 1. Accounting is wrong 2. Forensic investigation to tail an offending caller or criminal events is affected. On the user end it is frustrating because like some of you said it erodes credibility and muddles up international relations. |
Hopebringer:Since you are in contact with Dapo get us info on Tinubu's holdings in Alphabeta. Im beginning to doubt Tinubu has any controling equity in Alphabeta. |
captainking:Open the bonnet. Let somebody sit in to start and put car in gear (stationary with foot on break) and observe the engine. J2381:Kardashians are immoral models to reference for any girl brought up in a Yoruba home. |
byinks:Dapo has hinted that he is ready to be an open book as well. No doubt he will be incriminated. You cannot be Deputy MD and later MD/CEO of a money laundering company for 8years and your hands are clean. His mere signature on statement of account and audit reports is consent and approval for whatever financial crime was going on. Ultimate responsibility rests on him as CEO, not on shareholders. Alphabeta LLC and Alphabeta Partnerships are entities separate from investors and owners. The owners have immunity but not the CEO. Go and review case of ENRON in US, it serves as a global lessons learnt. I dont think he received proper legal advice before stepping out with this info. Yoruba say "kaka ki eku maje sese, afi se awa danu". That's what we are dealing with here. |
Destroe:What is Tinubu's share of Alphabeta? A company can use Tinubu persona for branding in exchange for a share ownership in the company. It is possible. This is how Trump brand spread. Not every building or company associated with Trump is owned by him. Most properties under Trump are brandings only because the name Trump sells. In exchange for % share or just royalty payout to Trump you can use his name and call your hotel, Trump Towers. It has value. Tinubu is same way, he has built value and brand for his name. Let's not get too excited to demonize Tinubu, this could blow back and end up working in favor of Tinubu' political ascent. We need to know the arrangements. So far three things are known. 1. Alphabeta was originated by Dapo 2. Dapo owns 30% of Alphabeta 3. Dapo is disgruntled for his losses We need to hear more. Dapo so far has talked about him and his relationship with Alphabeta but has not shared arrangements and info about other owners. |
magoo10:How can Alphabetta belong to Tinubu when Dapo told you he owns 30% and his attorney claimed Alphabetta is an idea that originated from his client, Dapo? |
