Precisely! Tinubu's position further reinforces their false perception that they are "untouchable". He failed to hit them with the stick when they are caught in a compromised act.

You fvck em up first, and then you apologise much later.

Lets forget Tinubu and return to Amotekun.

The above excerpt is Tinubu's main position as regards Amotekun. He is a federalist and for him Amotekun would define and ignite that needed process toward federalism. All other statements there is to not alienate his Fulnani political mates.

I disagree with such approach. He doesnt want to alienate fulani political mates but his fulani political mates, one after another, are insulting his Yoruba political elders. What kind of reasoning is that?

The creation of Amotekun and the campaign should be extended to Kwara state capital Ilorin with immediate affect.

I agree. This should cover all Yorubaland.

Military politics is what changed the fortunes of many states in the NC zone. Kwara State used to be called West Central State. Military relabeled and made it North Central.

Under democratic politics their fortunes need to be realigned back to West.

Bruv, forget all this Frederick Forsythe plot you are weaving. Kanu broke virtually all his bail conditions and absconded to then make himself himself a fugitive from Nigerian law all Nigerians or visitors to Nigeria must respect. His criminal trial is pending and you are crafting impossible and elaborate James Bond plots. As if Kanu , according to the ruling of a competent Nigerian Court, is anything other than a jail-breaker and common criminal.

Kanu , the scammer and egotist, should simply accept that he will be unable to pay his final respect to his parents because of his own actions. In life, actions have consequences.

Most have but the vaguest notion about it. They know few details yet vigorously attribute to its opponents the most negative intentions.

I disagree with Tinubu on this quote and on many jabs he took against Yorubas on Amotekun.

Is the repeated assault on Falae a positive intention? The killing of Mrs Olakunrin, is that a positive intention? Is the opposition and threat by Miyetti to Oyo State a positive intention?

Positive intention is what Yorubas living in North do, in peace and with humility. Why cant fulani conduct himself the same way when in Yorubaland?

Here is my suggestion -
It is apparent Tinubu is only concerned about governance and unity, when caught between Nigeria and Yoruba Tinubu will choose Nigeria before Yoruba. Yoruba leaders need to write a strong worded letter, sign it and send to Tinubu and warn him to focus strictly on his personal ambition and goals, whatever they are, and not speak for Yoruba any more.

If our leaders are not careful Tinubu may actually be the one to implement Ruga in Yorubaland if he enters Aso Rock.

Personally for myself going forward Im delisting Tinubu as a Yoruba leader. He is an elder and a Yoruba politician but not a Yoruba leader.

ipressplay:
One thing I admire most about the north is apart from humongous foot soldiers who blindly obey without subjecting instructions to any lucid thought process, they are extremely strategic in their planning and follow-through.

They also have a small team of highly intelligent strategists who they listen to.

Unfortunately for most of our leaders in the south, like "cerebral" as we say we are, they can be incredibly asinine in the decisions they make.

Rather than make long term strategic plans which will ultimately benefit their people, they prefer decisions that will provide instant gratification to massage selfish egos.

The Buhari federal government recently tried to forcefully, subtly take over ALL waterways clearly with a subterranean intent.

The resistance and blowback are just dying down and yet they've successfully infiltrated at least one southern state, one with one of the largest water bodies in the south and unarguably with the largest water body in the South West.

Tinubu/Sanwoolu just made Kabir Ahmed a native of Daura in Katsina state the wait for it; COMMISSIONER FOR LAGOS STATE WATERWAYS!

I don't have a problem with a non-indigene being made a Commissioner. In fact, I welcome it cos it integrates our diversity and the non-indigene could in fact bring a fresh perspective to bear on governance but for Tinubu/Sanwoolu to cede control of Lagos waterways to an agent of the same person intent on encircling and locking down the south through its waterways boggles my imagination and my very small intellect!

They could've given Mr. Ahmed any other portfolio but it had to be that particular one! I guess the carrot Tinubu got in return was too tempting to resist cos I know he's very intelligent but as is usual Asiwaju has no qualms about denying his heritage for a selfish recompense.

If the untoward happens despite all our outcries, posterity will judge Tinubu et al, who have consciously, without being coerced constituted themselves into Afonja replicas against their people's interest very harshly!

I concede one point to the north however reluctantly.
They are very strategic, focused and tenacious.I may not like the ends those traits are used to achieve, but I do admire those traits, very much.

Mrs. Toyin BALOGUN

I endorse this message.

US has a very good visa screening system that can be used to separate North Nigeria from South Nigeria.

Each country has a visa quota.

They used it successfully in Iraq. Kurds were preferred and approved in higher numbers and with less stringents than say Sunni or Shia. The last two were seen as hostile to US interests. Kurds ended up using most of Iraq quota.

They should not punish all of Nigeria.
Terrorism and Jihadi is hostile to American value system.

Imagine the killing of that innocent Pastor and other Clergies and their congregations lost to bokoharam. The over 300 innocent underage girls kidnapped and raped, all in name of fighting for Allah.

This is what dan fodio in early 1800s.

Now think of 200yrs from now and that Abubakar Shekau is thought of the way Northerners think of Usman dan Fodio today.

Im sure many of you have not reflected on this.

What you witness Abubakar Shekau doing today in NE is what Usman dan Fodio did in NW 200yrs ago.

Lagos state has been the first state on the frontline of community policing.

No one is saying we don’t need AMOTEKUN but let it be a comprehensive all encompassing Institution, carry all stakeholders along, pass it through the House, let them debate it, loopholes of breach of etiquette blocked etc then pass it to law. Else soon Amotekun will be a shadow of itself, involving itself in extortion of Yahoo boys, Land dispute, Wife/husband snatching shit, abuse of power by the governors during and after election(Akeredolu was even saying he doesn’t care if he lose his second term bid...only fools will believe him. More attestation that the governors who are at the frontline of AMOTEKUN have ulterior motives behind.

Let AMOTEKUN be like the justice giver in the Land of Odua hence it must be sacred and without blemish, officers of Amotekun also must be men of integrity not like the Sars etc..

Take a look at the Lagos state RRS. I think they are the most professional of all police force in southwest.

I am on the fence until all stakeholders are involved sha
[/s]

The people you copied this version of democracy from dont always go to their legislature to pass laws.

Americans have 2nd amendment rights to bear arms. Yet for safety reasons you are not allowed to keep arms on you when you enter into certain places. This is because safety and preservation of life trumps everything else. While gun posession can add to safety its abuse can lead to dangers, hence some people who have been victims of gun terror will put signs outside their premise and not allow gun posession on their properties. Thats a clear violation of 2nd amendment right...but because good people with ideals can reason they do not force or push or litigate the denial and neither do they view it as peraonal vendetta.

So get your sense in the right place and stop forming Mr Democracy.
The Governors posess Executive rights to enact laws pending a debate. As it stands the Executives have exercised their powers, now the Legislature will next review it for acceptance and passage into Law. Amotekun can then operate. In cases of infraction the Judiciary will intervene to interprete the law.

Get sense!

The Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yoruba land and National Coordinator of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC), Iba Gani Adams, has declared that whoever is against the South-West security outfit codenamed Operation Amotekun (Leopard), which will be launched today, is enemy of the region.

He said that not everything people should be playing politics with. According to him, issue of security should be of concern to everybody no matter their differences, groups or political parties, as security of life and property ought to be their priority.

Adams stated this while speaking with journalists in his residence in Lagos.

Operation Amotekun is a joint taskforce involving OPC, hunters, other vigilante groups, the police, the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps and the army.

Adams described Operation Amotekun as a joint security force that would address the rising incidents of kidnapping, robbery and killings in the South West.

He said there was no better time to kick off the joint taskforce than now with South West residents having difficulties to access their farmlands or travel on highways due to kidnappings and other rising insecurity issues.

He said: “Operation Amotekun is a welcome development in our region and at the same time, it is an idea that is already belated because we have been expecting it longtime ago before it eventually came to reality. I was for one of the people who agitated for it. Without telling you the whole story, I can tell you authoritatively that Yoruba people are very happy with the operation. Anybody you see or hear criticizing this operation, it is either that person is a sadist or that person did not value life or even property.

“Amotekun is not the real state police we agitating for but it is temporary solution to some of the challenges facing our region.

“We are due for state police; we don’t need any security report to tell us that our region has been infiltrated by external criminals from the neighboring countries around us. Some external criminals have collaborators within. The president even made matter worse by giving foreigners free entry to our country. Operation Amotekun will address many issues beyond issue of Fulani herdsmen.

“There are many spots across the region that were den of ritualists; the issue of security challenges in South – West goes beyond issue of Fulani Herdmen but I believe the current move will address it.”

This is true but c'mon, we are talking of two parents. In particular he was very fond and close to his mother.

Here is what I think Nnamdi should do. Go into Cameroon and get cover in the Ambazonian territory. Have the funeral in Cameroon and say his goodbye to them. Transport the bodies back to Afara and give it a burial. Kanu does not need to step foot in Nigeria. Even his whereabout in Cameroon must be kept within no more than five people. Even close family and relatives should not know. No dignitary, no fanfare. Just him and his siblings and some personal associates. Dignitaries and everybody else can go to cemetry for burial.

Politics / Ss Says 2023 Presidency Is Its Turn. by MayorofLagos(m): 2:00am On Jan 21, 2020
AHEAD of the 2023 Presidency, South-South Elders Forum has said there will be crisis that could tear the country apart if the north should insist on retaining office of the President after the expiration of President Muhammadu Buhari’s tenure.

The South-South Elders also said it was logical and fair to allow the zone to produce the next president for another four years to complete the zone’s second tenure.

Speaking in an interview in Abuja, weekend, National Coordinator of South-South Elders Forum, His Highness, Anabs Sara Igbe, said the zone was better placed in the south to clinch the presidency in 2023.

He argued that the north may not be comfortable to support South-East candidate for now because of the civil war experience, where millions of the Igbo were gruesomely murdered, adding that Ndigbo are still bitter over the alleged marginalisation of the zone.

He also claimed that the north will not support the South-West judging from the position of the Miyetti Allah on the recently launched security outfit by the South-West.

Sara Igbe, who is also the National Publicity Secretary of Pan Niger Delta Forum, PANDEF, said South South would be the stabilising force in the country and would make the South-East feel at home.

He claimed that South-East was agitating for Biafra Republic and only interested in restructuring of the country and not the 2023 Presidency likewise the South-West.

According to him, “for us, the race for the presidency has started and it is a clear fact that there is an unconventional agreement that the presidency should go to north and south.

Currently, the presidency is in the north and they have completed their two tenures. It implies that the presidency will come back to the south. In the south, we have three zones — South-West, South-South and South-East.

“The South-West has had their complete tenure through President Olusegun Obasanjo, South-South had had one tenure through President Goodluck Jonathan and South-East has not gotten it in the new dispensation.

“But if you are talking about the whole of Nigeria, the north has ruled for over 40 years, South-West ruled for almost 12 years, the South-East has ruled for six months and the South-South has ruled for one tenure of four years.

And so obviously, it is right for the South-South to complete their two tenures, thereafter, in the south, South-East will have a clinch of it. “Besides that, South-East today is insisting on Biafra, they are not insisting on presidency. We in the South-South believe in the restructuring of this country but we are also interested in the presidency.

We want to complete our second tenure. “And considering our role in Nigeria, the current developed Nigeria, we believe that we are the hub carrying Nigeria, the nation should be fair to us by allowing us to complete our second tenure.

When we complete our second tenure, we will now believe that Nigeria is with us. “We are not interested in dividing Nigeria, but we are interested in repositioning Nigeria.

We can assure Nigeria that the present feelings of the Igbo, when the South-South man comes, he would douse it, because South-East and South-South are brothers. They are of the same mother and the same father.”

“South-West and South-South are also brothers of the same father but different mothers. So, we believe that when the South-South man is completing his tenure, he will talk out the Igbo from Biafra.

“Although the three regions—South-East, South-South, South-West in the south and Middle Belt in the north believe in restructuring, the South-South is willing to stand by restructuring but that does not mean that we will throw away the presidency.

So we are appealing to Nigerians to please do us that small favour of giving us the second term.” “We know that Nigerians can do it like when the Yoruba agitated. All the parties then, the Yoruba were allowed to vie for the presidency—Obasanjo, Falaye and co.

So we are saying all the parties in Nigeria should field South-South persons.” “Nigerians can choose the best amongst them. If a South South man comes it will help Nigeria, our oil production will increase, our gas production will increase, and we will also give intellectual contribution.

“We will carry everyone along, we will have intellectual think tank that will assist the president in ensuring that every part of this country is adequately managed, presented and favoured.

We believe in one Nigeria and that is why we are appealing that Nigeria should work with us so that we will not divide this country.

“There is no need for us to divide ourselves, there are misunderstandings which we can resolve.

There are complex countries in the whole world yet they come together, they work together.

Even America that today we are celebrating was not one country, it was an amalgamation of so many states and despite their differences but because they have fiscal federalism, because their economy is restructured, they have financial autonomy, everybody is on his own doing his own thing and that is what Nigeria needs.
