A graduate of Chemical Engineering from the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT), Nwanya Odichukwu, has been sentenced to 12 year imprisonment by a Federal High Court, Enugu over offences bordering on fraud and internet scam. According to a release signed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Spokesman Mr. Femi Babefemi, operatives from the Enugu zonal office of the Commission had on 20th August 2009 arrested Odichukwu at Logon Nigeria Multi Medis Cybercafé located at Chime Avenue, New Haven, during a raid. The statement said he was caught sending scam emails. Investigation shows that Nwanya was soliciting information on the financial status of unsuspecting victims. A thorough search on him and his residence led to the recovery of a parcel containing an international cashier valued at $2 million, a Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) draft valued at $500,000 in the name of one Mr. B.R. Butler, a United Kingdom International Passport bearing the name of one Jaxkson Phillips Dennis as well as scanned United States dollar documents. The suspect was subsequently arraigned on a six count charge for committing offences contrary to Section 5 of the Advance Fee Fraud and other Related Offences Act No. 14 and punishable under Section 1 (3) of the same Act. Delivering his ruling on the matter last Friday, a copy of which was obtained on Monday November 9, Justice Abdu Kafarati sentenced Odichukwu to two years imprisonment on each count charge , bringing the total number of jail term to 12 years. The prison term will run concurrently. |
on another note, he and TB Joshua seem like a duo made in heaven. |
the day you need John Fashanu to validate you, that day is the beginning of your end. how can you be validated by a crooky, name dropping, title loving sweet talker, are you kidding me? i'll rather hear this validation from Chris Uba or Tafa Balogun. Ambassador of sports indeed!!! i beg e, |
nellaluv:you are a low life. i will not stoop to your low levels. |
this thread was spoiled by that ebony beauty phrase spoilt the entire thread. people i know who were her mates at varsity said she was always fair, just that she has gotten a lot fairer. it is nobody's business i she bleaches or not (at least she is doing a better job than Akala). my view is just that anyone who bleaches, call it bleaching or toning is insecure and deserves a seat in front of a shrink. |
any man that beats a woman is not worthy of his manhood. there is no ifs or buts there. secondly, as much as the man seems the guilty party here,i wish to remind you all that marital issues are complex, complicated and hydra headed. you will never know the truth until you here both parties. even after hearing both parties, you can still never be sure. you will be surprised to find out that some couples would rather serperate and divorce than reveal certain parts of a story. As long as the Segun Richards guy shuts his trap, lets let them live their lives, for the sole reason that a child is involved. |
I am not a saucekid fan but this one is a certified banger. |

the amounts mentioned here are dizzying. i need a break. this some unknown officer in a subsidiary of 'ordinary' Wema bank o! imagine what happens with the big cats in banks with more cash and muscle. yet we complain of our politicians? i am almost convinced that our politicians are no different from the masses. |
2nd page and Suraj is no where to be found? bros, you are slacking o!! come and defend your hero. i have a simple question and i will appreciate answers from the house; so they were not making provisions for the loans in the past? is that negligence or presenting an incomplete and deceptive picture of performance? |
i am waiting for NDans like Ibime to comment before i say my own but the truth is that i am getting very tired o these militants. |
can we just substitute Uba's name for Omehia and read out the same judgement for him? i am begining to wonder if all these SANs hypnotise their clients? |
those issues aside, my major grouse is with a man like Uche Secondus. He and Odili chose Omehia, he was never a party to Amaechi's fight for power now he has the guts to talk crap in public. talk of AGIP. |
i repeat Blaise all the way. Kel is too fake for my liking. hearing that her fake accent irritates my ears. As for Kemistry, it is all good as long as she sticks to Radio and does not show up on my screen. |
this is the result of excess weed. |
what is she doing that other girls are not doing or even doing worse? i believe the guy ruined himself sha. the story seems true cos someone that knows him confronted him with the article and he simply said 'don't mind them, i am not broke'. |

Rebarobyn:the reason why people are eating out more now is due to the low quality of life in cities. you leave home by 6am to beat traffic and stick around the office till after dark in order to beat the same traffic. on weekend there is so much extra curricular activities that by the time you realise it, monday is upon you. when there is so little time to pause and catch you breath, how then can you cook indoors so much as to avoid these eateries? people get back home so tired and fagged out that even conjugal activities are being negatively impacted talk less of cooking. |
Addressing newsmen in Abuja, the National Organising Secretary of PDP, Chief Uche Secondus, said: “By the decision of the Supreme Court, they have shown that they are the only hope of the common man. The apex court has done the right thing because, fundamentally, Governor Rotimi Amaechi contested and won the primary election in 2007. Celestine Omehia did not contest that election.” He explained that it was unimaginable that Omehia, who is a lawyer of several years standing, could “contemplate going back to court. Today's decision of the Supreme Court has shown that the Judiciary is the backbone of democracy. This judgment is final to the contest of who is the governor of Rivers State. "The justices of the Supreme Court should be commended for the uprightness. For this, it has saved the people of Rivers State from anarchy and bloodshed. The absence of what the Justices of the Supreme Court did would have resulted in anarchy.” He said that the people of Rivers State are happy with the level of performance of Amaechi, stating: "The governor is performing and the people of the state are happy with what he is doing. So what we needed in Rivers State is peace to enable the governor to bring back the dividends of democracy to the people." politicians are scums of the earth. the same Uche Secondus that was Odili and Omehia's right hand man. Now puff puff has turned to buns and he is talking crap and acting all righteous and democratic. I have only one question for him, is there no honour amongst thieves? |
…Says ‘you can't turn court to musical chair’ The Supreme Court of Nigeria yesterday put a final seal on the ambition of Mr. Celestine Omehia to return as governor of Rivers State. It dismissed his application asking the court to overrule its earlier judgment which made Mr. Rotimi Amaechi the governor two years ago after a prolonged litigation. The apex court also said the application was “an abuse of court process, frivolous and contemptuous”. The court, presided over by Justice Aloysious Katsina-Alu, has as members Justices George Oguntade, Fedode Tabai, Adekeye Olufunmilola and Tanko Muhammed. Just before the short ruling, counsel to Omehia, J.C. Esike, told the court that he filed a motion on October16, 2009 and that having served other parties, it followed that he be allowed to state his reason why the earlier judgment of the court should be set aside. He said the judgment delivered on October 25, 2007 was a nullity on the grounds of lack of jurisdiction and competence to make the order not sought for, saying that the court was wrong. The court then asked whether it had jurisdiction to hear the appeal in the first place and Esike answered in the affirmative but insisted that the court in the judgment in contention departed from its jurisdiction. It resulted in a heated argument between Esike and the court. Justice Oguntade said: “If a court has jurisdiction to hear a matter, does it not expand to the right to make a judgment on it?” Replying, Esike, who alleged bias, said: “In the course of exercising your decision, you departed. Section 22 (1) of constitution provides for parties to nominate candidate and in your judgment you found that the suit brought before you by Amaechi wanting to be a candidate when election had been concluded.” It was at this juncture that Justice Oguntade advised that it was not enough for the applicant to allege that the apex court granted an order not sought for without telling the world the whole story as it relates to the case. He said there was a primary election of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state; Amaechi won by about 6,000 votes; and Omehia never contested. Along the line, Amaechi was alleged to have committed a crime and was stopped from contesting through expulsion. According to him, “all parties agreed to abide by the decision in Ifeanyi Araraume’s case (that it is a party that contests an election and not the individual) and you all came before the court and it has a duty to do justice in all cases and that was what was done. “Once we have given a judgment, whether right or wrong, your action is futile and you cannot get anything at the end of it.” Esike replied: “The law is that political parties should nominate candidates but by your judgment, you have amended that law. The final decision is yours but the lesson of history is different. Let me make my decision and you can overrule me; then I would take my medicine as a man. “With regard to equity, none of Amaechi’s claims is equitable. The court departed in that judgment. The issues brought before you was mute and you amended section 22 (1) of your rule.” Justice Katsina-Alu ordered the counsel to sit down and said: “In my view, your action here is a serious professional misconduct. We have given our decision two years ago and you are here asking us to review it. Even if we stay here till December, you will get nothing. At best, you can attract punitive damage. Whether right or wrong, that judgment stands. “You are threading a dangerous ground. We have no right to sit on appeal over our decision. Our judgment is not a nullity and you can go on and appeal to God. One thing I know is that God is not your client. If you persist trying that path, you won’t go home today. You don’t talk as if you are talking to some juniors in your chambers. You accused the Supreme Court of making law.” Then Justice Oguntade intervened: “We are not sitting here as individuals; we are sitting as the final court of Nigeria. We don’t have any friend among you. We would leave here and retire to our villages but the Supreme Court and the law live forever. What we did was the best way we can safeguard our democracy.” He stated that it was wrong for the litigants to want to turn the court to “a musical chair” that could be swerve anyhow, asking whether the applicant wanted the court to start replacing the governor with every application asking for it. Ruling, Justice Katsina-Alu said that it was a frivolous application, “bound to fail and it has failed” and consequently dismissed it. Justice Oguntade seized the opportunity to implore lawyers to always perform their professional duties by advising their clients correctly. After the judgment, the PDP commended the Justices of the Supreme Court of Nigeria for dismissing the suit, stating that if the judgment had gone otherwise, the state would have been thrown into anarchy. The absence of what the Justices of the Supreme Court did would have resulted in anarchy.” He said that the people of Rivers State are happy with the level of performance of Amaechi, stating: "The governor is performing and the people of the state are happy with what he is doing. So what we needed in Rivers State is peace to enable the governor to bring back the dividends of democracy to the people." |

cvibe: bollingjoe:these are the two pieces of advice you need. what do you need Sanusi and CBN for? get serious and i these two options do not work, come back here and i have a piece o advice for you.one that will never fail but first you have to implement these two posted above. |
Naijaking has a fundamental problem with Sanusi, hence he sees nothing good in him. He at the other extreme of men like Suraj. on this case, i think it goes to the heart of my question at the height of this issue;why was the board not sacked at the same time as the executive team? i see no reason why CBN should rescue ailing banks with billions and still have the interim mgt team reporting to the same inept board that were partners in destruction with the sacked executive team. i am not a an of Sanusi but i believe that his actions will drive the fear of God into those cowboy bankers that think acting with impunity and recklessness with depositors funds is akin to hard work and God's grace. After all this grammar, i am still waiting for the CEO apologists to provide a coherent argument that Sanusi witch hunted the sacked guy.in order words, that they are innocent of the crimes for which they were sacked. all i hear is that they are not the only ones.to that i answer that, we may not be able to catch all the thieves but let us start somewhere and if you happen to be a scape goat, too bad for you. for all the billions the CBN put in those ailing banks,it deserves to have oversight responsibility over the banks and not the discredited boards. if all that happened could happen under their watch, what is the guarantee that same or worse will not happen with the interim CEOs? let them report directly to CBN, so that if they fail, their will be no one to blame but the CBN. |
agathamari:my problem was with your wanton generalization and Christian bashing. every form of belief comes with a measure of faith, even atheism. anyone hoping for or claiming certainty before belief is delusional. to each man his own faith and belief but it is impossible having believed not grow in your certainty of your belief. if you believe your faith is the same like every other system of belief or way of life, then you of all men most miserable. you must come to a point where you believe that the path you are travelling is the right path and in forsaking other paths, you believe that they are wrong.Yet you must be matured enough to believe that not all men will walk your path and it is not by force. even if Jesus appeared today to the world in physical form and erased every doubt about his sonship of the Godhead, there will still be unbelievers.same with other deities in other faiths. |
but there is a possibility that can happen in new york. i dont think halloween can ever be in naija. too "demonic" for africans, they would go crazy and do crazy things! neither is it a naija thing.
you can't be sure it is not demonic. can you? i don't give a hoot about halloween and all sorts, even if my faith and belief sanctioned it. i've got more important things to excite me. there are two extremes that are equally dangerous. some african who see the devil and demons in everything and westerners who deny the existence of the devil itself. both extremes are different sides of the same coin. |
@ poster we will celebrate Halloween in naija when they celebrate new yam festival in New York. |
