villybest: Meaning of illiterate---
an offensive term meaning not able to read or write
2. uneducated: having or showing little or no knowledge of a particular subject
artistically illiterate

3. making many language mistakes: full of or making many basic errors in the use of language
illiterate prose.
The last time i checked,Ifeanyi Ubah didnt fall into the above, because,if he cant read and write,he wont be where he is today.
but he falls into the second category. Which subject has he shown in-depth knowledge of?

crux84: The problem is that the bridgs are FAR in between. I stay in Ikate just beside Lekki Phase one. there is no pedestrian bridge near the bus stops. After lekki phase one roundabout, the next bridge is at Jakande. It's like having one bridge at law school bus top and the next at Lekki Phase one round about. I think they are under the assumption that everyone living around that area own cars. The government has to build more bridges, especially between lekki phase one and Jakande and one at Agungi Bus stop. I spend an average of 15 minutes to cross that road on my way back from work.
The govt has to build more bridges and the people need to encourage the govt by using the existing ones.
Imagine the ones built around Ilasa on the Oshodi/Apapa expressway, folks are still crossing the roads right in front of the bridges. Nigerians are inherently unruly, We need to change.
On another note,a bridge is long over due by that Anthony hilly Junction on the Oshodi/Gbagada axis of the expressway.

Christianity Etc › Re: ‘Touch Not My Anointed’ by mbulela: 9:21am On Aug 28, 2013
Candour: Beautiful written piece I must confess. Let us examine that ‘touch not my anointed verse again

Psalms 105:12-15 reads thus
'12.When they were but a few men in number; yea, very few, and strangers in it.13.When they went from one nation to another, from one kingdom to another people;14.He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes;15.Saying, touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.'

If you study the above very well, you’ll notice he was referring to the whole Israel as anointed so don't localize it to a pastor or MOG no matter how big. As long as you are a child of God, the same Holy Spirit that resides in the pastor also resides in you. God is not a GRAND FATHER. We all are children of God. That is what the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ did for us. Grace tore down the curtain hiding the holy of holies to give you and I an express access to the father. If a bishop can see God, so can you and I, if a pastor can talk to God, so can you and I, if a prophet can hear God, so can you and I my people. Nothing took away your brain and mouth the day you became a Christian so why should you give up reasoning to please a man of flesh and blood like you? That is blind loyalty to a man NOT to God. G.O was redeemed with the same blood of Christ so why should we be acting like the blood that redeemed the rest of us was diluted?
You can sense the spirit of manipulation when a pastor begins to tell you that there are certain truths you do not have access to but that he has access to due to some level of grace that he enjoys by reason of his relationship with God.
You know you are being seduced on the road to control when the pastor tells you that you can never rise higher than him or and that your destiny is tied to his ministry or calling.
These sort of statements are made to inspire fear in you and compel submission. Brethren, this ought not to be so. It is obvious that your service to God through a local assembly can be most productive through certain ministries at certain points in your life but to make people scared of leaving cos they think they will be out of God's will is pure manipulation.
The pastor has the same access to God like the new born Christian. Just like intimacy nourishes relationships,so with God. God has only one first born (Jesus),nothing like second born and third born. That is why we are Co-heirs with Christ. We all have equal access. This was the whole thing was what Luther's reformation was fighting against. At this rate we will have Pope's in the pentecostal set up very soon.
Christianity Etc › Re: ‘Touch Not My Anointed’ by mbulela: 8:57am On Aug 28, 2013
koastar: Every child of God is God's anointed. God referred to the children of Israel as His anointed and thus no one should do them no harm (Psalm 105:12-25). As Christians we are descendants of Abraham and by the blood of Christ we are made children of God so, the "touch not my anointed" covers every christians not only the pastors
You think they will hear? They are so manipulated and controlled that they just do not see the same blood of Jesus atoning their sin and the pastor's sin. In their eyes and mind, the pastor's redemption is a different work from theirs. Hence, his anointing is different from theirs.
If the pastor ought not to be touched and no harm done to him,is it the pew that is worthy of harm and touching?
Some Christians make me ashamed.

joel lala: This is the book’s message for all “rebels”: “God will divinely, displace and replace you with someone else. Your seat will be taken by another who is worthier than you. You will be banished into obscurity and oblivion. There will be a curse on you and your family.”

Who wants to go up against a curse placed in the name of God?
According to the Book of Acts, Chapter 17 verse 11, Paul of Tarsus and Silas preached at Berea, and the inhabitants "... received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
Most in the Nigerian church use Christianity as a form of insurance. Believing that once you pay your premium, all is well. They don't even bother to check out the content of the policy they claim to have taken out. Gross laziness is being exploited by hirelings masquerading as shepherds.
How in God's name can you spin the above truth and a sane mind accepts it as God's counsel?
Which God is even being referred to there?
There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love. 1 John 4:18.
How can the same God who gave his Son for you, curse you and curse you almost irredeemably because you rebelled against a pastor? Some people need brain transplants.
Christianity Etc › Re: ‘Touch Not My Anointed’ by mbulela: 8:43am On Aug 28, 2013
I have said it before that 1 Chronicles 16:22 is the root of most problems in the pentecostal church in Nigeria. There has not been a more abused scripture.
This scripture has been used to implement the SEDUCTION,MANIPULATION and CONTROL that is wrecking the church in Nigeria. The abuse of power alone derived from it is enough enticement for men and women of low self esteem rushing into the ministry under the guise of phantom 'calling'.
The only solution is knowledge and a balanced application of wisdom. Deriding men of God will be going another extreme but this trend just cannot continue. It is ungodly and has no scriptural basis.

But in the 'gossip news', CBN's SLS is also reported to be in line for sack alongside Odimegwu....what happened along the line?
SLS is better managed inside than left to 'roam' outside. The barbarians in power are not as daft as we think when it comes to self preservation. They will allow him finish his tenure and wave him good bye. He too is not interested in another term (he is too intelligent for that).

If you want to make a difference it is by acting not by being loud mouthed. methinks it serves him right, that is how as MD of a public liability company NBL he was brazenly involved in politics by joining OBJ'S third term bid. That time too he was politely shoved aside that means he has not learnt any lesson
I actually think he is too old to learn and the man comes across as arrogant. Such men are difficult to teach at old age.
Similar problem with Sanusi. I have never seen a reserve bank governor who loves the sound of his own voice like SLS. Credit to him,he has been toning it down in recent months. In most countries, you rarely hear a reserve bank governor granting interviews.His/her effect is seen and felt but not heard.Ours started off by hugging the limelight and fighting for publicity with amala politicians.

This man has a reputation of talking first and thinking later. For a supposedly intelligent man,his mouth is too loose. For a sensitive post like NPC, the govt should find a more pragmatic head for NPC or he should stick to providing strategic direction and leadership to NPC and leave the media talk to his subordinates.
You only dump someone or something you've used. That confirms the man used her, meaning he had extra-marital affairs with her. So you think that justifies the so called pastor? I beg to disagree. The guy should quit the ministry. His position has become compromised.
I don't agree with you. He should repent to his God and ask for the forgiveness of his wife and his congregation. He does not owe you and i anything.
In addition, he should stop manipulating his congregation to believe that he is anything more than a mortal who is saved and standing by grace.
This beatification of pastors is what i am against. The assumption that being men of God makes them assistant-Jesus is the root of all the manipulation and control going on in the pentecostal churches. That 'touch not my anointed' scripture has been severely abused in naija.
In addition, this Ese girl had better show one definite proof of her affair with the man. Be it bank statement, be it pics taken together in the hotel room or something. Else, she will be doing a massive disservice to other girls who are truly being used by pastors (and we know they are many). No one will give the time of day to such stories if she goes quiet without a shred of evidence.
