Politics › Re: Rivers State Crisis: A Balanced View By An Indigene by mbulela: 11:39am On Jul 15, 2013
The shameful incident at Rivers state House of Assembly is an ignominious and reprehensible indictment on the electoral process that begot those legislators and also shows the calibre of men(boys) that the governor and his former chief of staff - Nyesom Wike imposed on the people of Rivers state. These two political gladiators handpicked these members when the going was good. Most of them (except the very few well bred likes of Josiah Olu) are inveterate thugs and intellectual invertebrates, lacking in core and substance.

May God bless this man.
I have said it repeatedly, there is something fundamentally wrong with an polity that throws up retired and practising thugs as political and elected leaders. Something is fundamentally wrong. We do not need saints but we surely must do better than these thugs that habit our legislative chambers and executive mansions. If you go to the NASS,the case is not much different. Either the females are women of exceeding lose morals (in a society or world with acceptably low morals) or the men are convicted felons. Either they have never had any identifiable means of livelihood apart from feeding at the trough of our collective destiny or tales of ritualistic wealth have trailed their lives.
Are these the band of robbers and barbarians that will deliver development and progress to a nation?
Politics › Re: Rivers State Crisis: A Balanced View By An Indigene by mbulela: 11:15am On Jul 15, 2013
In all these, my fear is that I do not see the change agents in the Nyesom Wike camp. The resurrection of the Restoration Team, the same folks who under Dr. Peter Odili recklessly plunged the state into a steady decline on all fronts, portends nothing better than danger for the state.

This is the part that myopic folks are not seeing. For all the wrong you can attribute to Amaechi, with Wike and his band of clowns, i see Rivers people entering a 'One chance' bus. They will be begging to be dropped at unknown locations while also being uncertain of the final destination. The options are too scary to contemplate.

securi: This guy unlike Bipi does not have any special relationship with Jona or Madam, he is one of the guys that feel due process should be the guiding priniciple of the house especially in the issue of Obio/Akpor.
so invading the house with thugs and attempting to impeach a speaker with a minority of 5 members is the right way to address illegality?

ow11: PEJ is repeating Turai's behaviour and somehow believes (emotionally) that she wouldn't be a non-entity in a few years time. Quite amazing given that she was very close to the action when Turai pranced around Aso rock with a false sense of superiority.
Simply put,it is a poverty of the spirit. It is a poverty that is not defined by the absence of material worth but the presence of a fallacious belief that acquisition will enrich the human spirit and ultimately set you apart from life. No matter how often her kind see others in similar position attempt and fail, they believe their own end would be different cos they consider themselves truly unique.

coputa: On the contrary,Amaechi should appreciate all what wike did for him..Wike was the LGA chairman of obiakpor when Amaechi was the speaker of the state house of assembly...even when Amaechi escaped to Ghana,he (Wike) was the only reliable person he had on ground...it was his perceived closenes to Amaechi that made omehia to desolve the local government council in the state....wike suffered a lot of political setbacks due to his friendship with Amaechi...Now that Amaechi has eventually become governor, wiike has suddenly becomes a bad person.... Amaechi only nominated wike for ministerial appointment just to take him away from Rivers state, because he is afraid of his rising political profile in the state..
Amaechi was told by sycophants to send Wike to Abuja as the sycophants, not even Amaechi himself were worried about Wike's all encompassing profile. Having Wike against you is like having Annenih against you in PDP. these are the bulldozers in local politics. Men who are willing to tread where others dread. If Amaechi loses this battle, Rivers state would have entered a 'one chance' bus.

The only luck these clowns have is that the PDP is worse. However ACN (or whatever present incarnation of theirs) are doing such a good job of closing the gap.
Politics › Re: Jonathan Plans To Impeach Amaechi With Five Lawmakers - SaharaReporters by mbulela: 4:38pm On Jul 10, 2013
The evolution of this Jonathanian mathematical formula can be summed up thus;

Jonathanian mathematics | 16 > 19 (16 is greater than 19 where 16 belongs to Jonathan | 5/32 = 2/3 (where 5 belongs to Jonathan)

Mind that this formula holds sway only when the interest of the president is at hand. If you use it in school you are likely to fail except the teacher specifically demands that you janglize the equation or says evaluate this according to the Jonathanian formula. We were promised a breath of fresh air by the president and no one can deny he is delivering on that. Our children must be told that the debts they will be repaying tomorrow are being racked up as we speak. Mr. President is in China to borrow more. We need more than enough money because 2015 is around the corner and we cannot trust mathematics alone. These are all in line with the transformation agenda of President Jonathan.

chidi that looked very sharp with his well starched white attire and cap. . . . go and watch the clip again. did he look like someone who had been in any ''battle'' or did he appear to have been ''rough handled'' by anyone? undecided

ya'll should quit the lies.

besides, two wrongs never make a right.

how can a ''law maker'' hit a human being with a stick on the head repeatedly ? undecided
How do you even attempt to defend 5 legislators who stormed the floor of the house with police men and thugs and proceeded to chase away majority of their colleagues? Or you think the red sea just parted of its own accord? Who provided the security that followed the 5 to go take over the floor of the house?

if you read up my other comments on this saga, you'll realize that i think both sides are wrong. Chidi's crime looms larger cos he was caught on camera. The same action you saw him indulge in was meted out to him minutes earlier. Every eye witness account confirmed this. Even before this video,i have always held a view that Chidi is a thug. The few times i watched their debates in the house i was so unimpressed as it looked like over fed boys were transported from UST backgate and choba park to come argue over a few bottles. very uncouth characters, all of them.

what if the man (so called thug) had slumped and died?? undecided

besides, the man in question did not look like a thug.

the chidi guy in my own opinion should be charged with attempted murder and locked up.
Far be it from me to defend Chidi Lloyd, but what if Chidi himself had slumped and died during the first phase of the battle when he was on the receiving end? The second phase was only made possible because Chidi survived the first phase.

Meanwhile the Rivers state executive of the PDP led by Obuah has congratulated Evans Bipi over his emergence as speaker;

These barbarians have no shame. We all warned that allowing the irregularity of Jang's election stand will be a prelude to all sorts. Now we are seeing it. Very soon, govs and speakers will be impeached while the house is on recess. How low can we sink. The Wike camp claimed they had Amaechi by the jugular and everything was going according to plan. Why the impatience and this poorly coordinated mayhem? Meanwhile, i listened to the Evans Bipi speak and i was overwhelmed by worry. How did we end up with these sorts of local touts? Dude could barely communicate well in English. How are these thugs parading as Honourable members able to process the complex needs of a state like Rivers state and make laws that will bring progress and development? Are these the best we can offer?

Prof Corruption: It's still a child's play.

Adedidu used thugs to impeach Ladoja in Ibadan. Eleweomo, a prominent NURTW thug was the speaker who pronounced Ladoja impeached. Things ll get worse in Rivers.
i wan die from laughter. The more i think about this Rivers case the more i remember Adedibu. Wike is just positioning himself to be a more educated version of Adedibu. People who insinuate that Wike wants to be governor are missing the mark. The man does not have the subtleties for such. He wants to control things from behind.
This fight will get very dirty soon. All these gloves will soon be removed and blood will spill, if God does not intervene.

The next industry you guys should watch out for to produce very young CEOs is Mobile money. Sharp and coded henchmen had already cornered the operating licenses. It's still incubating, but check it out in the next decade.
Meanwhile, if Seun turns the corner by taking NL from being a hobby to serious business before he hits 35,
he could get it listed and become the young CEO of a multi-million bucks company.

McLuhan: Before we get ourselves all agitated and worked up in support of one side or the other, perhaps we should ask ourselves whether it is proper and constitutional for the governor (as head of the executive branch of government) to march into the assembly chambers (of the state legislature) and seize by fiat the symbol of that branch of government, regardless of what situation subsisted in the chambers at that time. In my humble opinion, such an act is in itself an impeachable offence, for it constitutes a usurpation of the duties that belong properly to the serjeant-at-arms, who statutorily custodies the mace and whose duties also include maintaining order and security in the legislative assembly. Even more seriously, the governor's action, if confirmed, amounts to a display of contempt for the legislature, which, according to the law, is by no means inferior to the executive arm. It is just as if a president were to walk into the supreme court while in session and physically drag out the chief justice to prevent him/her from delivering a judgement that the president fears might be unfavourable to him. In quasi-religious terms, I would describe it as an abomination! In legalistic terms, I would call it an impeachable aberration. In ordinary parlance, I would say it is simply not done.
As the chief security officer in the state, it is his job to prevent a break down of law and order. Especially when the police has proven sectional and biased in the matters arising grin

If 75% of the governors (past and present) in Nigeria have been working tirelessly, I'm sure we won't be having the unnecessary population burden on Lagos today. This is my opinion.
