FamilyRe: Why do men find it difficult to tell their wives their salary? by McDoe(m): 9:08am On Apr 17, 2007
There is nothing wrong in letting your better-half know what you earn. Infact, it facilitates planning for the home. The idea of shielding same from the wife is now very unpopular. My advice to men and women alike is to learn to cultivate trust and build on marital vows.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: 1st Class And 2.1 Is The Best Grade. 2.2 Is God's Grace Anythng Else Ur On Ur Own. by McDoe(m): 12:56pm On Mar 27, 2007
duttyarb, Will you learn and stop being naughty. Many posters, experienced guys for that matter, have advised you to stop living in fantasy. There is more to life than you are presently seeing. In our daily reflections, we should look at life from both the physical and the spiritual. Life they say is what we make of it. There are people who did not attend the University yet the are living very fine through their efforts and ingenuity. There are also those who are even willing to grab third class if the opportunity is there for them. Therefore for someone who went to to the ivory tower to study, I think, is a remarkable achievement. From my personal experience grades only counts if you want to remain in someone's employ throughout your life. As far as I am concerned, in anything we found ourselves doing, put in your best, remain focused and determined and leave the rest to God. There are people who got distinctions but could not live to enjoy same. When there is life, there is hope

Busta, But there is this maxim which says "praise the powerful to make them stronger''. This is not politics. Seun truely deserves our encomiums. Can't we even organize something like a get-together among Nairalanders and confer an award on seun and some other notable names/contributors in this forum. Let me however leave that to you guys. Express yourself!
Nairaland GeneralRe: Say Something About Seun (the Ruling King) by McDoe(op): 4:28pm On Mar 23, 2007
tonim, that's not the reason. I am just praising a worthy contribution to Nigerians. Don't you think so?

Nairalanders, I registered with this site not quite long ago and I must say that the experience has been very rewarding. For a Nigerian to have this ingenuity and generosity to create a forum like this, such a person deserves all of our praises. We know what money means to Nigerians; for any invention, they would want to recoup money invested. But here is a guy who gave us this opportunity to interract, share views, seek answers to difficult problems etc via this laudable forum. He must have invested so much in it, yet it is free. Please, this worthy son of ours deserves our praises and encomiums. Just say something good about Seun here.
FamilyRe: I Need To Leave My Matrimonial Home by McDoe(m): 11:22am On Mar 23, 2007
If I may ask, is there nothing interesting about the guy. Do u mean he is totally negative? Otherwise, I will advise that you study him carefully, and know those nice traits about him and develop your love on those traits. The issue of divorce should be the last resort because as young couples, don't even contemplate it. There are certain actions in life, once started, hardly can you abstain from them. Marriage is meant to be an enduring thing irrespective of emerging problems between the husband and the wife. To crown it all, develop positive thinking towards this guy, introduce communication as earlier advised by this forum, and take your matter to God through prayers. I can assure you of divine intervention which will crumble all the negative thoughts in your mind. Wishing you a happy married life.

kafero:
Admittedly we all need the GRACE of  GOD! Guess what- people who ve good grades without a life purpose end up working for peolple with poor grade who discovered their purpose in life: it is a law of Life!
dttybarb, did u get kafero right? To add, education is simply the training of the mind and character for life's challenges. Ordinarily, a well educated person would not post a thread like this, knowing fully well that, grades are not realistic yardsticks for measuring brilliance. Better get this into your mendula oblonganta.

Seun:
I doubt it.  Any business that treats its customers badly cannot be strong.  Aferall, UBA wasn't stronger than STB!
Seun, have you entered any FirstBank shop lately. If you do, you will experience real 'customer service' at its best. First Bank has transformed in terms of service delivery. What I expect them to also do is to look at staff welfare with a view to harmonising same with other operators' packages in the industry.

I am down with Femi Pedro. He sure knows where he is going; and has what it takes to transform Lagos. Although I have not watched him debate on television, I have listened to him on Rhythm FM. He articulated his programmes in such a way that the are buyable. Let's vote for him.
PoliticsRe: Who Is Telling The Truth? by McDoe(m): 2:25pm On Mar 22, 2007
In all honesty, these guys (so-called leaders) cannot tell us the truth. They were in one cult before the bubble bursted. Their oath of secrecy is still intact. What they are doing is mere fooling Nigerians. Until the oath is broken, they will continue to drive us in a 360 degree circle. But somehow, I am forced to believe Atiku than Obasanjo.
PoliticsRe: Ugandans: 'Beware Of Nigerians' by McDoe(m): 9:11am On Mar 22, 2007
My brother, take their unfriendly posture as acts of both cowardice and lack of civilization. Because If they are civilized, they would want to live together with everyone and seek to improve one another's condition. But you know very well that at the sight of Nigerians, they will all tremble. Carry on with your life and be less bothered with any ga'dem guy under your foot.
PoliticsWhich Is The Best, The Guardian Or Thisday Newspaper? by McDoe(op): 5:29pm On Mar 21, 2007
Which is your favourite, Guardian or ThisDay Newspaper??
PoliticsWhich Is The Best, The Guardian Or Thisday Newspaper? by McDoe(op): 5:27pm On Mar 21, 2007
The Nigerian press is highly relied on for what I could describe as "solid and undiluted" information. And out of the circulating newspapers, one is usually referred to as the flagship of the Nigerian press(The Guardian). It happens to be one of the few existing old papers. The title it has been enjoying is attributable to its content, vibrant and thorough reportage. However, the entrance of ThisDay newspaper about 12yrs ago has brought about serious innovations to the print media. Maybe, as corporate responsibility, the paper has introduced amongst others, awards to deserving Nigerians including various entertainment programmes such as ThisDay musical show, ThisDay National Debate etc. This has to a large extent spurred a host of us to hardwork and re-awaken the spirit of relaxation among Nigerians. The Guardian on the other hand has contributed immensely in its exploratory journalism via its scientific reportage, reliable news, jobs info, unequalled editorial opinions etc. Considering the different contributions of these papers, which is now qualify to bear the title of "flagship of the Nigerian press". In other words, which one is the best Newspaperhuh

So far so good. I must say that women are now themselves. You have put up a good defence on this issue. As far as I am concerned, you ladies deserve nothing less but to be accorded your rightful place in the society(ies). Despite all the vituperations, I still doff my hat for you. Thanks to the various contributors.

j-girl & Nite Angel, From the way both of u sound, it is clear that you are some of the women rights activists. But you should undersand that, God has given man dominion over all creations including woman. This so-called fight for equality is unreligious, illogical, baseless and criminal. A woman who is a helper cannot claim to equal the man. For instance, countries like Britain, Germany, Indonesia etc which have promoted this rights to the extreme by making women their leaders have not been able to rise up from the consequences such moves had earned them.

mystikal, If you truly love your babe, do to her what would please the both of you. However, whenever she notices any clandestine move by you, try quell such suspicion by being open to her. Finally, being jealous is a natural thing especially with ladies. I advise you stop hopping around
