Tolu is highly insultive and should be condemned. We should not allow the so-called western civilization erase our moral values. Agreed, some fathers might be high-handed, but it is not enough for a child to resort to the use of invectives on his dad. I am beginning to wonder on the views of most Nairaland users. They are continously being negative in their contributions. The truth is that if our fathers were exposed to some of the technology of today, they would have been genius. It is a fact that, inspite of the harsh terrain and difficulties they undergone, they persevere, remain focused and highly determined. So we should accept whenever they told us of their performances during their schools days. No matter what, such stories should be viewed as inspirational rather than insinuating negativity as we have seen in most posts here. As far as I am concerned, Tolu stands condemned, and should be told to his nose. |

Pretence is key in the life of most ladies and as a result, every effort to woo them would need a little push. However too much pressure tantamount pestering. Exert the pressure when the need arises but dont allow your emotions to becloud your sense of sound logic. |

The recent fuel scarcity has further exposed the wicked attitudes of most Nigerians especially service providers, traders amongst others. The have shown to us that being in business is mainly for profit making and have taken this to the extreme thereby making themselves profiteers. Profiteering is a word of contempt. A profiteer is someone who makes profit out of the difficulties of his countrymen. He takes advantage of the needs of his fellow human beings and makes them pay higher prices for his goods and services thereby reaping gold harvest. This situation is often made worse in a country such as ours where there are no price control agencies. Profiteering is considered unpatriotic and even inhuman. From a rational point of view, it brings about a general breakdown in the life of the people. Unlike a situation where government do control or stop profiteering, ours is more or less abetting this evil. What do you think of this problem and why are fellow Nigerians are so greedy. What is the responsibility of government in a system that is deeply involve in profiteering; And the way forward? Please Nairaland users, SPEAK your mind. |

Electricity is one of the most important factors in the history of modern civilization. Almost all the modern comforts of life, which we enjoy, are due to electricity. This includes development and growth. Electricity is an invaluable gift of modern science and technolgy, and therefore any country that refuses to address any power related problems should be best described as uncivilzed, backward and not worth a state in the comity of states. Nigeria's problem as far as electricity is concerned is due to man's inhumanity to man. The so-called govt officials are the clog in the wheel of constant electricity in the country. It doesn't need any magic wand to turn electricity around in this country. Just put the money and monitor it. Involve the experts. In all, do the needful and see how things will turn for good. Let it be inculcated in the head of the so-called leaders that we can't do without it; ELECTRICITY. It is this important! |

Online dating does work seldomly but it is much easier to make ordinary friends than dating online. One of the barriers is distance; call it logistics. However, I have once dated a babe online. She was at Ado-Ekiti poly and I was here in Lagos. She traced me down to Lagos. The magic wand at this point in time was my ability to move her emotions to a point where she longed for me uncontrollable. So in online dating you must be percieved to be honest, constructive, lively and romantic. |

Why Adenuga, What has this man done? Why not mention Dangote's name? This man was given licence to build a private refinery since 2002 but instead chooses to buy the ready made ones. Not only that, he has bought over virtually everything that belongs to the state. Is Adenuga therefore worse than Dangote? |

How can B.E be a waste of dough. I can't hesistate to disagree. Wait, have u been to one before, How was the atmosphere? Men, it is usually something to dream of. Bachelor's Eve is an occassion that tends to remind you of the responsibilites ahead and the life you are about crossing over. While the fun lasts, there are usually moments to recall, the guys and the babes u were very free with and how you intend to relate with them going forward. To me, is worth it. The powers that be would have been advised to keep the peace. Making arrests will further heat up the polity. Therefore i don't foresee any arrest at least for now. |
