amaoadetayo:The response you got is based on the question you asked. Maybe giving more detail of your profile will go a long way in getting more detailed answer. That been said, getting masters admission with a 2.2 grade is difficult but not impossible. So many factors are considered when assessing your application: what was your grade for the last two years of your bachelors program? How many years experience do you have in your field of study /intended field of study?....... All these and more will play a vital part in their decision making |

efedhomav:You can order for your gcms note yourself via some third party sites(one of them is the one you posted), you can get more if you search. As for the case of trying New Zealand or sticking to Canada, it is up to you. Both countries are unique in their own way, so go for the one that suits your future ambition. I can't really say which course you should go for, but I have the following to say: 1. If you decide to go for something relating to what you studied in your bachelors then you will have to explain why you decided to go back to the field after 7 years away (there are so many reasons to give). 2. If you decide to go for your new found "love" field, you also need to explain why you (also, so many reasons to give). So the ball is in your court |

Anamekele:That's cool, since you have enrolled then you don't need to be in a hurry to book your flight so you don't miss or change date if IRCC don't send your passport before then(we don't pray for that though). If you must book your flight for 20th then make sure it is one with changeable date(just in case), that way if your passport arrive before 20th you can travel, if not you will just shift the departure date(it might come at a cost) |

Winner0718:Good step, but hope you sponsor have more than that 20k in her account? I asked this because I want to believe the 20k is for your tuition, she needs some money for her own upkeep as well while you are in Canada |

Anamekele:20th from today is little over a week. When are you supposed to resume (I mean your lessons)? It is possible to get your stamped passport before then if they don't have too much work to do, so consider that when booking your flight. If you are not so much in a hurry I will advise you don't book your flight for now or book for a date after 20th (if your resumption date is still far). |

davo99:It actually depends on how busy they are. Lagos centre has more work load/applications compared to Abuja. It usually takes between 3 to 5 working days to get your passport stamped, but it might take longer based on the number of applications being processed at the time. 1 Like |

lentomac:When you intend to travel? If not this month, then search between the last week of this month and early February (prices should fall by then). |
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by mcobex: 8:04pm On Jan 10, 2021 |
lentomac:Cheap in what sense? We need to know there are different factors that decides the amount to book a flight like the traveling date, period, date of booking and sometimes the airline involved. Thays why sometimes you get to see Egypt or even Air Moroc tickets being more expensive than the likes of Emirates and Qatar airways. What I will advise is to book your flight at least a month to your traveling date, that way you will get better offer. Also if you booking during busy season expect ticket price to be off the roof. |

Babyboy2020:It is possible to get PGD with HND if he has good grades. Going for ordinary certificate program might not be convincing enough as HND is higher than it |
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by mcobex: 10:01am On Jan 10, 2021 |
Blavkmaann:The date will determine how cheap or expensive the flight will be. Also, try to check the terms and conditions before booking any flight (if you intend to carry enough things from Naija) as some "very cheap" flight might not allow you to carry more than one luggage. Another thing you should consider is the stopover 2 Likes |

Amylew:First, don't hide your masters degree as it might come back to hunt you in future. Secondly, what area of law was your first masters? Is it the same as the second masters application? If yes, then you can say due to unforeseen (personal)circumstances you couldn't concentrate during the cause of the program and you intend to have a second run at it(in a more stable system). If no, then you can say you intend to try another area of law that interest you ( give details on how you intend to use the new area effectively in Nigeria after graduation). As for the PGD thing, you can also apply for it since your masters application is still ongoing and nothing is certain yet(don't put all your eggs in one basket). If you eventually get your admission then we can advise you on what next to do. For now concentrate on securing admission. Good luck |

Gorgeousasanat:I can't say if the amount will be enough or not because you don't know how much your tuition will be. Mind you, you need to show a living expenses of at least CAD10k for your first year(in all province except Quebec which is at least CAD11K) Since your husband has his own business/source of income, he can be a co-sponsor during your application. That way he can say your subsequent fees will be taken care of by him (if your 7 million is not enough). As for his application and that of your kids, the processing time as at the time they apply will determine how long their application will run, but don't be too concern about that for now. |

tracy0803409:Congratulations on your admission. As for whether to apply alone or with your family, it depends on what you want. My sincere advise will be for you to first apply alone while you use your family as your home-tie, then you can apply for them once you secure your TRV. As for NSE program, check the first page of this part to see the requirements, if you qualify for it then IRCC will automatically process your app based on that. The additional documents required for the NSE are as follows: 1. IELTS score of at least (6), general or academy will do. 2. SOA of at least CAD30k for at least 6 months prior to your application and the account must have been running for at least 1 year. If you already have the above listed documents then you can include them in your application and you will automatically qualify for the NSE processing time. Like I said earlier, try to read the first page of this part and also IRCC site for more information on documents to be submitted. Good luck 1 Like |

Simyowe:You can apply for PGD with your HND, but if you insist on starting undergraduate program then you need to ask the school/department where you will start from. They will have to review your transcripts to see which courses you taken already and how detailed it is compared to their own curriculum to know where to place you. Contact the school 1 Like |

Preeskaar:But there's money in it, right? The main account is that of your husband (the sponsor), yours is just to show you are working (no matter how small it is). Then explain the reason it hasn't been active for a while is because you haven't been paid due to the current global pandemic (which the vo is aware of). Focus more on your husband's account |

Preeskaar:Don't worry. I want to believe your account was active prior to the Covid issue, right? If yes, then you have nothing to worry about. Like you said, your husband will sponsor you. Your husband can either transfer the funds for your education to your personal account or leave it in his own account and write a letter of support to that effect. Make sure you submit your SOA(no matter how little the amount in it is) and that of your husband when applying. Also try to explain you were not paid due to Covid and that was your way of reasoning with your employer as he has been very good to you before now |

oyibo4real:Sorry for responding late. You husband needs to write a letter of support stating the account belongs to both of you and he is fully in support of your plans. Since it is a joint account, both of you need to sign his letter of support 1 Like |

blackyshadow:The main reason why you need to show funds to cover the entire duration of your program if you are sponsoring yourself is because you are "not" allowed to work while studying (even if you do work, IRCC doesn't expect you to make enough money from such to cover your subsequent tuition and living expenses). The only reason you can show fee for one year is if you show IRCC how you can pay for the second year without working or violating your study permit regulations. Hope you understand this gist now? |

RxOtunba:Yes it is good to use that as home-tie. Another strong home-tie is your family. Try to let the vo see how close and attached you are to your family and that you wouldn't want to live away from them for too long. Add all these to improve your home-tie claims |

I want to say this to all those interested in studying in Canada: If you have good grades but don't have enough funds to sponsor yourself, try to search for courses that comes with funding. That will help reduce the financial burden on you and your family. For those who don't have good grades and Money, don't be in a hurry. Take your time and source for genuine funds (by saving towards your studies), it doesn't matter how long it takes you to save up for it as long as it is genuine. Most of these "so-called" agents who come to promise you free SOA and other fake documents and assure you that it will workout are just playing with your future. When it is time for IRCC to BAN you the "agents" will be nowhere. No matter what, make sure you submit genuine documents for your application. God bless you all and best of luck to all those waiting for approval. 15 Likes |
