Hello Everyone,
Since I received my PPR in October, I have not gotten any update on my children's application.

I have raised webforms and sent emails but still nothing.

Does anyone have a suggestion on how to go about this?

Thank you.
Check @whizqueen's post, it might help your case

I read this again and saw you mentioned 'a family member in immigration passport office'. That's excellent. And 4th January is an early enough date. Remember, this year is as good as spent; IRCC will go on holiday on Monday, I think. So it means no communication from then until 4th, I think (please don't mind me, I think a lot). If that happens to be so, it means PPR will likely not be coming earlier than the date you'll start your passport renewal process. So find out from your 'family member's how long it will take for the new passport to be out——one, two or three weeks?
Since she knows someone there, I think she can get it same day.
@awys how soon did the person say you can get it if you apply for renewal?

You have nothing to worry about, just wait till January and renew it. If IRCC need a new passport they will say.

Thank you for your prompt response.
I’m truly new to this application process and I’m using an agent.

I have a 2.1 from my previous degree, but what if I want to get a second first degree. Do I need to put that on my school application that I’ve done a first degree?

Thank you
You better run away from that agent immediately. You have good grades, so take your time to look for masters admission or at least PGD. DON'T LET ANY AGENT PUSH YOU TO MAKE A MISTAKE YOU WILL REGRET FOREVER.

Good day everyone,

I am planning on applying for a study permit next year for a program that starts in September.

My International Passport expires December next year.

My question is if I go ahead to use this passport, will it be an issue when I apply for Visa?
You can only apply with a passport with at least 6 months validity, so if you're is supposed to expire in December and you apply before June then you are good to go, but mind you your study permit will be issued based on the validity of your passport then once you renew it you will get the full permit to cover the entire duration of your program.
In other word, if your program is supposed to be for a year, you will get your first study permit (on arrival in Canada) till December, then once you renew the passport you will get the remaining part of it.
When do you intend to apply next year? If it is before June then you have nothing to worry about

Thank you brother.

For clarity; he should pay using his account and also send me 10k CAD before applying for Visa.

If you don't mind asking, what could be a convincing reason that I should use in his SOP.
Also what are the documents I Will be needing from him cos he said I should bring list of documents I need so he can start getting them for me

One reason cold be: he is your maternal uncle and he promised your mom he will sponsor your university education if you secure admission to any school abroad. It is a promise he made to your mom long time ago and he hopes to keep it.
He needs to show his source of income (his business or payslip from work), anything to show how he earns his money will suffice. If he owns a business then he should show his tax receipts, company registration...etc. If he works for another company, his employment letter and payslip will do.
His SOA will go a long way as well, he should state the number of dependents he has and how he hopes to take care of them after spending that much on you (he just need to say he has more than enough to cover for your studies and still be capable of taking care of his own responsibility back home).
His ID(international passport)

Dear All,

I think I've reached a crossroad on this Canada stuff, here is why.
Cambrian College gave me an admission after two days of applying and expected me to pay 8k plus CAD before January 1st.

The issue now is that my uncle (same surname) is proving stubborn to help but I got another rich man(mother side, not the same surname) that is ready to spend and provide all necessary support.

How do I prove to VO that I am related to the person?

What are my chances of getting visa if I use this person?

Please help abeg una. Getting tired already.
The best proof of relationship is him paying your fees. All he needs to do now is state in his letter of support why he is sponsoring you. The same surname means very little without commitment, if this new uncle is willing to pay your tuition and also send you the living expenses then you are ready to go.

Good afternoon guys, hope everybody is doing fine

Please o I have few questions

1). Must you pay your full tuition before travelling?

2). Are they asking tuition receipt from pple who have started schooling from Nigeria or is it applicable to everyone even though u are starting school in january? I only paid tuition deposit and my school has not said anything about me paying my full tuition. I even mailed them about it but no response

3) for pple who are to resume in jan and haven't paid their tuition, in other words, haven't gotten their enrollment letter will it be a problem?

4). Has anyone who used another airline to get to Canada bn asked for the enrollment letter? Cos it seems it's only pple using Ethiopian airline that has shared this experience.

Please, abeg make una help me answer these questions. Make person for know wetin to do bikonu

1. It depends on your school policy, if they ask for full payment before resumption then you have to do that before they enroll you.
2. If your school gives you the enrollment form before you pay your full tuition (which is almost impossible) then you only need to show proof of funds that you can cover the other part of your tuition and living expenses when you arrive Canada.
3. Without the enrollment form, no airline will allow you board (due to current situation).
4. All airlines ask for it right now
N.B: Almost everything here depends on your school policy, so get in touch with them to know the best way forward

Yes they do, but very rare. Hopefully they will call back, but don't worry too much about it. Let her check her profile if there's any update

I tracked my passport and got the following update: The decision envelope for your application, tracking ID No. XXXXXXX has been collected from the Canada Visa Application Centre, Abuja on 2020/12/16. Does this mean that my passport is now with DHL? cos I did a 2-way courier service with DHL and I tried tracking the return WAYBILL NO, on DHL's website but it's not showing the package has been received.
Do I get in touch with DHL or Abuja VFS?
Patience bro, patience. Give them some days then check again. Or send an email to DHL to remind them

You can apply with your family, but I always advice people to apply alone first then use their family as home-tie. You can always apply for your family after getting yours. Decide on which is preferable for you

PLEASE I NEED AN ANSWER URGENTLY.

I applied for SP on the 7th of Oct, I didn't get any NSE letter but my eligibility review started 1st of Dec, after which I went to do upfront medical which as been updated to passed yesterday. My concern is that my proof of fund, what my sponsor had as closing balance was not so impressive, the only thing impressive about my POF is my sponsors Letter of employment which stated his annual salary and me as his dependent. My question now is that my sponsor can get his closing balance now up to 10m, do you think it's necessary I send another bank statement to them or I should just leave it and be hopeful.

Ps; Previous closing balance was 4.5m and after my application I paid part my tuition fee which was around 11,450CAD

Thanks smiley smiley smiley
You can always update your application at anytime, so please hurry and send the proof of payment (tuition fee) and updated(improved) SOA of your sponsor. Both will go a long way to helping your case.
Best of luck

Hello Chynwayy,

Yes, you can. However, you have to demonstrate that you will be able to meet his welfare in Canada and hr won't be a distraction to your study.

You may have to demonstrate with evidence that you've booked for a daycare in Canada and show sufficient funds to cover for both of you in the course of your study.

This has been addresses on severe occasion. For more info, use the search bar up in the page to research for more hints and answers.

All the best

Hello,

The eagle finally landed a few minutes ago. I didn't get UPS tracking but I knew it was in transit after the full day phone wahala with VFS on Monday. I got 5 emails from them in the last 48 hours and my application status changed twice on the VFS platform during the same period.

I got a call just before 9am and I knew it was the UPS delivery man. I cut off an international call (with a friend in New Zealand) to pick up. Lo and behold, I was right. I rushed to the street junction to meet him. I only showed my ATM cards and old national ID and he was satisfied. After I signed for it, I went to the ATM and dashed him "5 Pieces of Cowries". The guy wanted to disappear into thin air.

To God be the Glory. Montreal here we come! To those expectant, your joys shall be fuller very soon.

#It Has Finally Ended in Praise - @Frank and Frat...@Kim, I sight you all!

@Justwise, we have also called for a thread that is specifically meant for "new students arriving Canada". The "living in Canada" thread is not directly relevant to our situation post-approval. Most of the time, discussions on that page are for PR folks. Please help look into it. Gracias, Chiefo!

In as much as I like your idea I think it will reduced the number of people coming back to this forum to share their landing experience and other things those who are yet to secure their TRV will like to know. Hearing people's experience will give hope to those still waiting for their TRV.
N.B: I am not trying to talk down your point, just saying it will reduce the number of students who have gotten their TRV coming back here to share their experience with those still waiting.

Hello People:

Please does anyone know if IRCC will be closed for the year and when? I sent my passport to Abuja on last Friday, got an email from VFS that it's been sent to IRCC Abuja for processing on Monday. I am planning to book a flight for January 3rd, not sure if this is a great idea.

When are you supposed to resume?
I will advise you don't book your flight until you get an update from IRCC, you never can tell when the passport will get back to you.
Another option will be to book your flight for January 3rd with the option of changing the date of you don't get a response from IRCC by then, but most airlines will charge you for changing flight (so you have to consider that when making your decision)

hello everyone, please I have a question, I want to apply for study Visa but will love to include my daughter (she's 18 months old) and my husband. my father will be my sponsor as my husband is not financially buoyant. will it affect our application?
Your dad can actually sponsor you and your daughter if he has enough fund for it. Using your husband is also a great idea, but since he can't afford it there's nothing wrong in using your dad. Make sure you provide proof that he is your dad.
It is much easier to applying alone, but since your baby is still very young you can apply with her but will have to show that going with her won't affect your studies. This means you have to make preparations for getting a nanny that will help out whenever you have to go to school or have some other engagements (show funds for that as well). But if you can't afford that, then apply alone then use your husband and daughter as hometie

and later he realized that he didn't merge that document in his Client Information..

The names he bear, Surname is Constant but his names were not arranged the same way in some of his documents

E.g Arturo, Michael Semedo in some documents

Arturo, Semedo Michael in some other documents.

Though the names in his Admission Letter, his CIC Profile and Birth Certificate are arranged the same way
Jz wanna know , is there anything to worry about as regards this ?
Thanks

Thanks all for your feedback and they are all useful. For clarification, the $24,000 is per year and is recurrent throughout the duration of the program. It is clearly stated in my acceptance letter. $7,900 is the total yearly tuition fees without accommodation.

I already replied . Since your funding covers everything, just get your flight fare and you are good to go. You can do that by asking your company to pay the money into your personal account. They should also state in their letter of support that you will resume work immediately after your program.
With the above, there will be no need for them to give you any company papers (just leave and letter of support + refrence letter)
