Oh Benin city it's Lagos I have the contact I don't know where they do it in Benin other people might know and I think it's just Alagbon IRCC recommends am not sure please don't let them give you another thing on the IRCC website it's Alagbon Ikoyi Lagos they recognise that people should go
@Tre20 That's why it is high, but even at that it is too expensive.
The thing is, the station in Benin will collect your finger prints and send it to Alagbon, Lagos for the report.
As it is now you can bargain with them or if you have time and feel like visiting Lagos you can go to Alagbon yourself to get it done. It won't take more than 15 minutes to get it done( 3-5k).
N.B: Police report is actually free, but we know how bad the system is in naija.
Another thing is this, you can decide to apply without the report (if you think you can't afford the 40k and can go to Lagos to get it done yourself).

Goodevenin everyone
Pls is police certificate supposed to cost 40k? They said they will also take my finger print and also the certificate doesn't expire
Runaway o. Will the police officer follow you to Canada? If you are in Lagos you can get as between3k (if you bargain well) and 5k in Alagbon (that's the best place to get it).

Bikonu, ejòò, please someone should come to my rescue before I submit my application.
If you have made tuition deposit and intend to switch school after getting your TRV, I doubt you will get a refund of the 8k paid. So please think about your moves before making them.
Most schools can only refund your tuition or part of it when your visa application is rejected(you have to show them proof), so get to know your school's refund policy before taking your next step.
Good luck

Morning guys,

Pls i have a few questions.

My tuiton fee is $11,000 yearly, course duration is 2 years diploma.

Am I going to be showing POF for the two years tution plus living expenses or just for one year?

Does it make sense to do a court wedding few months to visa application? I want to get married to my fiancee and include her in the visa application.

If my fiancee will be following me, is it proper to have a sponsor who wants to pay for my tuition? While I'm responsible for the living expenses of the both of us?

Thanks?

If you are sponsoring yourself then you have to provide fund for the two years, but if you have a sponsor then he/she can show fund for one year and show proof he will be able to sustain the sponsorship beyond the first year(this can be done by showing account of enough money to pay the 2nd year or show any other means he intended to use in funding you)

godguy:

will this not amount to lumpsum in your account?
No it won't, it becomes lump sum when the you and the sponsor refuses to explain the transaction.
All you and your sponsor need to do is explain it in your SOP and letter of support respectively that the said amount was transferred to your account as your tuition fee and living expenses (to show commitment from your sponsor).

Pls I need help on this

1. Yes anyone can sponsor you as long as they give genuine reason(s) why they are doing it.
2. The best way to convince the vo is for the sponsor to pay your tuition fee or transfer the entire fund(tuition and living expenses) into your personal bank account.
NB: The above is mainly if the sponsor is a 3rd party(not your parents or siblings).

I finally got a nod from a Supervisor to apply for admission after waiting for a whole year. I have reading the mail attached over and over again. I understand I am supposed to now apply for admission but the funding is what I can't really grab. Can anyone explain further? Thanks.
My view:
It simply means, if you apply for admission and got accepted (which is almost sure cos you have a supervisor that will plead your case on the admission board), you are guaranteed 16k(for tuition and living expenses). There's a high possibility of getting more funding from the other sources (later on).....check the school funding page to know which you can apply for.
Try to apply ASAP.
CONGRATULATIONS
N.B: The guaranteed 16k will not be sufficient for your tuition and living expenses, so you need to source for other funds(self or scholarship). From my calculations you need additional 10k

Hi All,

Question: I live in the USA and I want to sponsor my sister to study in Canada. Can I do that or must the sponsor be someone living in Nigeria?

I appreciate it if anyone will answer my question.

Regards,

You can sponsor her from any part of the world

Please, someone should respond smiley
The information you gave is fund related, so if at the time of applying you have enough funds to cover your tuition and living expenses for the entire duration of your program then you are good to go.
But if you are using a sponsor then he/she will have to show funds for at least the first year of your studies, while showing proof of how he/she intends to continue paying your fees(for subsequent years).

I also want you to know approval goes beyond just having funds, some other aspects needs to be as solid(purpose of visit, home-tie,....etc).

CAN SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP WITH THIS
As long as the account belongs solely to your sponsor then you have nothing to worry about. The issue is not just about the money, but how accessible it is to you(the applicant)

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen in this forum.
How please how and what is q detailed way to respond to the attached image. It looks like something very delicate to the admission decision. Your response will be highly appreciated l. Thank you
They are asking how you intend to fund your studies/the source.
If you are sponsoring yourself state it(with how you were able to save up if possible). if it is your family that is sponsoring you state it also with proof.
From the program page you should know or have an idea of how much it will cost to fund your program (tuition and living expenses), state the estimated amount as well.
Good luck

Thanks for the support and feedback.

Will I accompany him? Or what do you suggest.

Plus are they school that wont require IELT for master in Environmental science. With low tuition.

Let him apply alone first while he uses you and the kids as his home-tie, once he gets his TRV he can apply for you guys to join him.
Yes there are schools that don't request for IELTS score from Nigerians. Let him search for schools offering his intended course and see their application requirements.
Good luck

Happy new year family.

I need your help and guidance here please.

My husband is 32yrs just completed his bsc last year.

And I am 26 with just Ssce and vocational certificate.

We want to study in canada.

But the issues here is this.

Should I the wife apply for undergraduate studies or my husband should apply for masters.

What are the chances that we might scale through.

Plus any school that dont accept application fee before you submit applications?

Kindly help it urgent so we could plan ahead.
Your husband should apply for masters as that will be less expensive and lesser time (he will spend max 2 years).

I want to know how to write a convincing Sop, and as you earlier advised I don't want to hide the Masters certificate, I have 9 years working experience .
Pls if you can help or you know anyone that can help for the SOP.
Thanks
I don't have time now to go through SOP, but you can draft one first then ask people to go through it and see where you need to add or remove something.
For your intended program, do you intend to start your own company/business relating to the course after graduation? If yes, it will be a great reason for the change is career.

Chocs:
If he/she hides the master’s, they’ll have to hide it for life because IRCC no dey forget. It’s good to take note of that.
@AbionaT please, like @chocs said, DO NOT HIDE YOUR MSc. You can either go for express entry (since you have masters and working experience). But if you must go the study route, then you can go for PhD or another masters.
As for you having an admission for a diploma course, hope it is advanced diploma (in science, which is different from your current field)? If yes, then you need to explain to the go why you want to change career(mind you, you have every right to change career but you MUST convince the vo why you intend doing that at this stage of your life).
N.B: I want to re-emphasis this: DO NOT HIDE YOUR MASTERS DEGREE, PLEASE!!! It is better you let them know then explain you want to change career, maybe due to wanting a new challenge or something that holds water.

Defer your admission 2 days to the deadline. I don't think you will get approval and stamped passport between now and 18th because you haven't been asked to go for medical yet.
Ask your school for the deadline

Pls for those that have traveled to CAN, what number did you use for the ArriveCAN App?

Is one able to get a mobile number at the Canadian Airport?

If you have someone in Canada, use his/her number. If you don't have, I think you can use your Naija number (not too sure though)

Hello House

Kindly look into the below scenario

I got an admission into a university in Canada (UG studies) and applied for visa. while the visa processing is on going i saw another school (cheaper) and i applied again.

Will it be possible to use the visa (for the first application) to attend the second school or one has to re-apply?

Thanks
Is it the same course?
You don't have to inform IRCC now, once you get your TRV you can then change school.

1. The company isn't sponsoring me, I'm just using there bank statements for the visa.
2. From a friend but borrowed
Showing fund isn't the main goal, the main goal is to show funds and give evidence the funds will be readily available for your studies. If you are borrowing the money just to print statement of account then it won't fly, but if you borrow the money to pay your tuition fee then good. All you need do is explain the source and show evidence of it as well

Good morning guys I need your suggestions on this thing.
1. I got a company who's willing to give me reference letter, bank statements, sponsorship letter.
2. I have my parents sponsorship letter, land documents and a huge some of money in my account (10m, but I have about 500k before ) but the senders name is not my parents name, also I have a letter stating that my parents sent the money to me as my school fees.
3. There is a guy who's willing to give bank statements and others but his 29 years old and his into forex.

Which do you think I should go for.
Your questions are not too clear, I guess that's why no one has responded.
1. Is the company providing you the said papers only or they really want to sponsor you?
2. If the money didn't come from your parents, where is it coming from?
You have to be specific if you want the right answers/suggestions.

Hi team,

I arrived in Montreal 23 hours ago - on Turkish Airlines after stopping 8 hours in Istanbul - but spent the first 6 hours at the YUL - Montreal airport. A mix of Covid-19 protocol plus the crowd of students coming in this period made the queue too long. I can't do much reporting now as I am still jet lagged but I just wanted say thanks to everyone who has been and continue to be a part of this journey. In a few days when am well rested, I will return with fuller gist of the lessons from this trip.

NB: my phone and laptop batteries dried up while drafting this message initially some 15 hours ago. I have now been able to sort the recharging/plugging problem with the kind help of Frater.... So I add my voice to the advice that those coming next should quickly find a way to plug and charge their devices before or upon arrival.
Thank God for journey mercy

On a serious note, nobody owes anyone anything in life. So if your aunt refuse to assist try to do it yourself or get help from other people and let her see you could do it without her(there's a fulfillment that comes with that).

Thanks for the information & enlightenment.

Actually my intentions is not to work.
I have some certification & training (which is closely related to the program am going for)I wanna do, most especially online but low availability of Power Supply & Poor Internet in Naija is not making it go seamless for me

I will try consider some factors before crossing the I's & dot the T's.

Am also trying to consider July 2021 aswell.

Thanks
like @awys said, you have to think about the step before taking it.
From what you just said, I think you can explain to the immigration officer you want to know the city more and also intend to run a course that will give you an edge before school resumes (you have to show proof of it as well).
Mind you, all these means more money to be spent, so you need to make proof of fund available just in case they ask you.
Also, your family friend can write a letter stating he will cover all your expenses within that 3 months and the said course will be online.

Can someone clarify this.

A letter won't cut it, let them transfer the money to your account and write a letter of support stating why they are sponsoring you before you apply.
