Jejelaye01:You are actually right. Also, the applicant is not using his company as the main sponsor as he already has funding from his school that will cover his tuition and living expenses (from my calculation), so your suggestion is okay. Another option that can cover the "paid" leave part will be the company transfering a certain amount of money to him and state it will be for his flight (their way of supporting him) NB: The applicant didn't structure his question properly, so that's where the misunderstanding is coming from |

I recently discussed with my boss about my admission to study in Canada and if the company (my employer) for the past three years will stand as my sponsor, he agreed because I got a full scholarship and Teaching Assistant-ship job, with plans that I will return to Nigeria. My question is what documents do I request from my employer and what should I ask them to do to ensure my visa application is a success. Thanks Details: Tuition fees per yr = $7,900 Scholarship + TA = $ 24,000 My personal account is N200, 000 @Frankrobbn1 @Justmellow @Naijaforeigner @mcobex or anyone who has an answer to this Is the $24k per year(if your intended program is for more than a year)? If yes, then all you need is for your employer to send the cash they intend to sponsor/support you with into your personal account (so as to raise it above #200k that is there already and you explain that will be for your flight). If the $24k is for a year, then you have more than enough to cover for your tuition fee and living expenses, so the additional fund from your employer will just be then supporting you(which will really help convince the vo that they are investing in you cos you will come back). Another important thing is, your employer needs to present a letter of support, it should boldly state that they will be expecting you at the end of your program and that your job back in Nigeria is secured(more like them giving you study leave).
I recently discussed with my boss about my admission to study in Canada and if the company (my employer) for the past three years will stand as my sponsor, he agreed because I got a full scholarship and Teaching Assistant-ship job, with plans that I will return to Nigeria. em3kae88:Any particular reason why are you going for a diploma in IT(apart from the 3 years post study visa)? Because you can also get that as long as you are going for a program with at least 2 years duration. Back to the main issue at hand, you stand a better chance going for a course relating to your previous course of study or your present job experience. i.e you should go for masters or PGD in electrical electronics engineering related course or construction/building engineering. That way it will be much easier to convince the visa officer of your plans 1 Like |

Anon123:I said from the two options he gave. Also, who says one can't switch from one field to another? Also you have to know this person in question though studied industrial chem but has been working in the marketing/business industry for years, so that's also enough reason for him to stick to it. All he needs now is write a convincing sop and explain his reasons and he should be good to go. 1 Like |

xprimate:If you are seeking for people's advice then you should give full details of your case and stop keeping your cards to your chest. Telling us your area of specialization at the moment won't invade your privacy, so kindly tell us that. If we don't have a clear picture of your case then how can we give precise answers. That aside, if you tell the vo you are working then you need to show proof of that and you can only do that by showing your ID, payslip/SOA showing your salary enters the account, employment letter, leave letter(depending on what you are saying in your SOP) 1 Like |

Tonyodg:1. Yes 2. Yes 3. Include your brother's CAC documents if he is also sponsoring you, but if he is bringing nothing to the table then no need including it. Just show your mom's proof of income and you should be good to go. Since she buys and sell properties, I want to believe she has receipts and other documents to show for it? Is she renting any of those properties? If yes, then let her show proof of rent payment by her tenants, it will go a long way. |

jpepper:Taken your courses online for the time being is not compulsory, but if you insist on not taking it then you can defer your admission to next available session for your course. They suggested the online thing due to the Corona virus thing so students who have secured TRV don't loose time. Once there's free movement the students can move to Canada to continue. NB: There's a high possibility that the airports will be opened before the end of the semester |

Lekiboboe:Nothing to worry about, just make sure you include the proof of payment from the bank and also your tuition receipt. The proof of payment from the bank should bare the name of your dad, while the receipt from school bares your name. You and your dad should explain the payment in your SOP and sponsorship letter respectively. Good luck 1 Like |

Faith243:Sorry about the rejection. First, I will ask you to speak with your brother about the reasons given by CIC. Ask him if he did anything that might have jeopardize your chances, if he hasn't done anything wrong then I will advise you appeal your case(that's if you have the time and resources to go through it). These vos are human and sometimes times make mistakes. First speak with your brother and hear what he has to say about it. Good luck NB: There's nothing wrong in you going for MSc or submitting your own SOA as well(as long as you showed enough funds to cover your tuition and living expenses and your sponsor showed her source of income) |
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by mcobex: 11:20am On May 11, 2020 |
Lekiboboe: 1. He can withdraw from the account as long as the amount withdrawn doesn't affect your tuition and living expenses when it's time to pay(CIC can ask for updated SOA anytime they like, so you can imagine if they do and there's no money there). 2. Use all accounts if possible, but importantly his personal account(the one with money) 2 Likes |
