He will need a good reason why he wants to go now and not around July(ending) or August. Though he can say he wants to acclimatize with the new environment and visit places before school commence as he wont have time to do that when school resumes. One of the main downside of going too early is that as soon as he enters BILLS begin to pile up, does he have that kind of money to spend(without working)? I would advice he travels last week of July or first week of August. GbarukoBajo: |
It depends on you. Both ways aren't bad, depending on how you structure your application. If the whole family must apply together, then they will have to show enough funds and also give genuine reasons why they MUST go together. They should also try to show good home ties(reasons to want to go back to Nigeria after studies). If the principal applicant wants to apply first, it means proof of funds will be less and he/she can use the other family members back home as good home ties. So, pick which choice you think will be better for you. Ps: No two applications are the same, what works for Mr. A might not work for Mr. B. So, the ball is in your court. Goodluck Ashraf123: |
What was the reason for the ban? Because before the ban the applicant would be given some time to clear whatever concern the VO has. If the applicant can't convince the VO (with genuine proof) then ban comes in. As for how to appeal, the applicant will have to seek the service of a registered immigration lawyer in Canada and he/she will file a case on behalf of the applicant (applicant don't have to be in Canada as he/she will be represented by the lawyer. Ps: It'd be better if you share the reason of the ban here so I or other people can advise accordingly before seeking the service of any lawyer as it is expensive and some lawyers might not want to tell you the truth because they don't want to lose the money they hope to make from you. Wow! It has been a while. Nice to still see the thread waxing strong. Good luck to everyone. @Frankreuben how far? |
Deohlarh20:On and off campus, as long as you don't work more than the stipulated time you are given(about 20hrs/week during school session) |
TeeMade:Sorry for the delay. If you have the resources and time you can appeal your case(you have a strong case), but if you don't want to go that route you can reapply again (upon receiving your gcms note) with the same documents. |
lentomac:The letter will only be needed on arrival at the airport, so it doesn't concern IRCC. |
adeenzo:Actually you can, but very rare. Someone got PPR before medical invitation about a week ago. Though it is not the normal processing way but with God all protocols can be altered |
Amycanada:Medical invitation doesn't mean your application has been approved, but from experience it means it is almost approved (about 99.9%). |
adeniyi3971:I will strongly advise against abandoning NYSC if you are to serve this year. You can pursue both at the same time, because as it is now the earliest you will start studying will be in September (that is if you have admission already). |
OtunbaTee:Some applicants don't know how far these VOs can go and they take things for granted. Nairaland is very popular and some VOs do come here to read people's comments. When I see people saying they will out money in their account and remove it while their application is still active I just laugh. A WORD IS ENOUGH FOR THE WISE. Congratulations on your approval |
Makah00:On the same page you saw the admission requirements, there's a link for language proficiency requirement: https://grad.usask.ca/admissions/english-countries-institutions.php#EligibilityforExemption |
unilag100:Who is your sponsor to you? If it is a 3rd party (not your parents or siblings) then he/she needs to either pay your tuition fee directly to the school before you apply (but please get to know the school's refund policy before making any payment) or transfer the tuition fee and living expenses into your personal account and write a letter of support explaining everything. If the sponsor is not a 3rd party then they can decide to either transfer funds to you or leave it int their account while you use their SOA to apply. |
silvamania:The copy of your passport will be accepted, just tell them you submitted it along with your application, but make sure you show them proof (application slip). |
silvamania: |
silvamania:Why don't you use the platforms authorized by your intended institution? Just be careful so you don't hear stories later |
oyebode11:Yes they do, so it is better you declare it and tell them how the said issue came about. What kind of criminal activity was it that got you deported? If it is something you can explain then you might be considered, but if not I doubt they will allow you into Canada. But it is better you declare it and try to explain your reasons behind it and let them know times have changed since then, if you don't declare they will eventually know and that's around 5 years ban and makes your cases even more complicated |
femredhead:If you are sponsoring yourself then you have to show funds to cover the entire duration of your program because you are not supposed to work while studying (even if you do it won't be enough to cover for your fees as you are only allowed to work around 20hrs/week). But if you have a sponsor then he/she needs to show available fund for at least the first year then show means of getting funds to cover subsequent years. |
Makah00:If you can afford the application fee, I will STRONGLY advise you apply to more than one school (the more the better) |
mastmony:Hopefully you will get medical invitation soon. I will advise you book for your medical date ASAP (pending when IRCC officially sends your medical invitation). |
Queenmama03:Yes they still accept it since not all banks are offering the Mybankstement services |
Makah00:Are you going for post graduate program? Most schools exempt Nigerians from taking IELTS or any other English exams since Nigeria is an English speaking country and the language of instruction for schools in Nigeria is English language. I haven't checked McMasters if they exempt Nigerians, but I am sure Saskatchewan does. Read the pages well and you will get the information you seek |
PotentialNurse:Your mom's account in whatever currency won't be a problem. Building of account is for people who prior to the interest to study in Canada have account that is not active. In your case you have nothing to worry about since you mom's account has been active and has regular inflow/outflow. |
MsJanez01:Good idea, will be even better if your intended program is related to what the company is into |
MsJanez01:You don't really have to mention it in your LOE, but MAKE sure you thick "YES" on the application form when asked if you have ever applied or been denied Canada or any other country's visa in the past (also state the reason for the denial). Doing that on the form should be enough. N.B: To be clear, I said it doesn't really matter if you mention it in your LOE simply because the denied application isn't related to study and the requirement is different from that of studies. The most important place to say it will be on your application form, where you will asked if you have ever applied or been denied visa before. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU ANSWER "YES" TO THAT |
NOTICE!!! To all those trying to withdraw or return all the money in their account after printing SOA, please be careful so you don't come back here to cry. IRCC can be unpredictable and have the right to ask for another SOA after the first SOA, imagine if they do and there's nothing in your account. Just be careful, please o |
Makah00:Sorry I don't reply DMs for now, but kindly ask all questions here and they will be attended to as fast as possible. To have an idea on how to start kindly read the first page of this part and you will see the list of documents to submit and also links on very important steps to take. Also compare the information with that of www.cic.gc.ca just to be sure you are doing the right thing. For admission, check all schools offering your intended course and their requirements to see which fits you ( financially and otherwise). GOOD LUCK |
Damidolly:You didn't address my point, so what happens if the embassy request for updated SOA again during the process? Or you don't know cases like that do happen? Also, I can tell you for free with my experience I have seen cases where the vo stated in more than one applicant's gcms note the activities in the applicant's bank account after SOA submission because they withdrew the money after applying. That's an argument we have had on this platform some years ago and I don't think I will want to continue that now. Stay safe |
Deohlarh20:The stamp on your passport is a temporary resident visa(TRV) that allows you to travel to Canada, on arrival at the airport the immigration officer will now go through your admission letter to see the duration of your course, it it that duration of your course that will now determine the number of years study/work permit that will be issued to you. Getting the study permit at the airport doesn't take much time (you might be asked some questions about what's the name of your school, your course or asked nothing). DO YOU UNDERSTAND IT NOW? |
buzzme:The TRV is just to gain you access to Canada, on arrival you will be given a study/work permit depending on the duration of your program (at least 1 year) |
shawtylil:Traveling 2 months to resumption isn't bad, but with the current pandemic and the fact lessons are done online I will advise you travel 1 month to resumption. Another thing is, if you are going 2 months to resumption it means more expenses (rent, food and other utilities). So, think about it before making your move |
Ayokaq:Sorry about the delay. Kindly give your full profile to give us an idea, your intended program, previous education history (if any). While we await your response, please try to order for your gcms note immediately to have an idea of the vo's thought |
