mikeerrr: The full funded uni will give him more chances of getting the visa though
Just my opinion but it’s up to him So what happens if they don't accept him then or day they are still processing it due to the Corona virus thing? No one knows when all this Corona virus thing will stop |

Kinzeerichy: Thank you all for the advice and guidance. If I’m to apply now, how difficult is it to change school if another Uni with full funding gives me admission by mid-end of April?
I should be able to do it myself. If I’m to wait till April ending, is it too late to apply as resumption is August 27?
Thank you again. Switching schools is the easiest part of whole thing (don't think about that for now). Yes you can wait for your other application to be approved,. it what it doesn't get approved then? Don't you think you would have wasted precious time? Apply now with what you have since you have funds to cover your tuition and living expenses already, except if you don't have the said fund you talked about initially. |

Kinzeerichy: Greeting all, I need help.
I’m new on this thread and I seek your advice on my application. I just gained admission to the University of Victoria for my Masters in Law commencing August 27, 2020. I got my Bachelor of Laws here in Nigeria in 2017 (Service in 2018/2019 in same law firm I work now). Tuition fee for a year is approx. CAD$7,500 and I was given 2,000 from the School as funding for now. My uncle (presenting him as a brother) is sponsoring me.
In addition to immigration documents, below are the documents I intend to submit:
Profile
Statement of Purpose Diploma in Law Certificate (Distinction) LLB Certificate (First Class) Call to Bar/Qualifying Certificate (First Class) University Transcripts for both Diploma and LL.B 2/3 Pictures of Awards NYSC Certificate Acceptance Letter Letter of Employment from law firm I work Letter of Recommendation from work Office ID card Birth Certificate Police Report Data Page of Int’l Passport/National ID Letters from Stanbic IBTC Pensions Evidence of Tax Remittance
Financials
Sponsor’s Personal SOA with 16m Sponsor’s Letter of Sponsorship with his company letter head Sponsor’s Affidavit of Sponsorship His Company’s Certificate of Incorporation Tax Clearance Certificate for himself and the Company Data Page of Int’l Passport Deed of Gift (he will transfer like 5/6m to my personal account immediately before application in partial fulfillment of his sponsorship) My Personal Statement of Account with like 1.5m with 5/6m from sponsor making 6/7.5m Pay Slips for 6months
Home Tie
Father’s CAC documents showing I’m one of the directors Study Leave Approval from work giving me just 1yr Inclusion in my SOA that I will return as I won’t be qualified to practice as a lawyer in Canada but will return to resume work in Nigeria where I’m qualified.
Although I applied to University of Saskatchewan and Calgary which usually come with full funding that will cover tuition and living expenses. However, University of Saskatchewan sent an e-mail that due to COVID, decision will be reached in mid-end April while I haven’t heard at all from Calgary.
Questions
Are those documents above sufficient?
Should I proceed with University of Victoria and leave Usask and Calgary in the interest of time? or chill till April? and apply with a full funding?
What are the roles of these agents? Should I engage them or do it myself?
I look forward to receiving guidance from you. Thank you. Your profile looks very cool, so you can apply for TRV now and if the other offer comes with full funding you will switch to it(hopefully by then CIC would have approved your application). As for using an agent, DO NOT TRY THAT. You are smart enough to do it yourself, so since you have gathered all documents come back here to ask specific questions whenever you feel confused along the line. Good luck |

Akannitommy: Hi all,
Good to be here once again. Gurus in the house, am here to learn from your wealth of experience.
My profile: I hold a Nigerian Msc (2010) and US Msc (2012 - studied on govt scholarship). I now have a funded PhD offer to resume Winter 2021 (January). I didn't write a recent GRE/GMAT or TOEFL/IELTS during my admissions application and my admission is not conditional on any these. It is only conditional on receiving my original transcripts which are already arriving at my Canadian school. I have also visited Canada for a week (same city as my school to present paper at a research summit) about 10 years ago.
My question #1 So I was wondering if I need to write a test of English Language prior to my TRV/SP application. I have enough time on my hands to do this but wouldn't want to waste time or money if not really necessary.
Thanks You don't need TOEFL, IELTS or any other language exam to apply for TRV. You can submit your application as soon as you get the unconditional offer (I mean when the school confirms that they have received your transcript). Good luck |

Davidwali360: But some others are getting a refusal 4 days after the bvl. Why is mine taking long? It's getting to 2 weeks now and how do I ask cic for update. I did it through maple education. I also paid a huge amount of money too. So sad. Then maple education will be in a better position to answer. Since they applied on your behalf they should contact CIC |

Davidwali360: No one wants to answer me, because it seems not important. They sent me my bvl on the 17th of February and ultimately till ow I havent gotten any other letter. I am asking how long does it take to get a refusal letter if a bvl has been sent. Please if no one wants to answer me, I need Frank to answer me . I am getting depressed. No one answered cos they can't tell you the specific timeframe. You just have to wait it out, I know it's not easy but you don't really have a choice here. It is only the vo/CIC that can tell you when they will update your profile. But you can also send an email to CIC to get update on your app. NB: You have every right to ask CIC for update on your app, but people prefer not to take that route and ask here |

Nuelgram: I have shifted my admission to fall because they don't do dinner intake for my course Great, if you have someone that lives in Canada ask him/her to help you apply for your gcms note (it is faster that way), but if not then you have to apply for it yourself from Nigeria via a third party company (search on Google to get their names/sites) and it will take at least 30 days to get to you. Try to apply for it now (if you haven't already) so you can reapply for your TRV on time |
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by mcobex: 7:01pm On Feb 28, 2020 |
@Nuelgram sorry for the delay. Though it is very rare to get denied after medical request, but it has happened in the past(CIC guys can be unpredictable sometimes). As for the way forward, what reason did they give for the delay? I doubt if it will be meaningful but please try to know the exact reason behind it(you can only know that by ordering your gcms note ASAP). If at the end the reason isn't meaningful the. reapply using same document you used in your first application and it will be approved. I have seen 2 cases like this and they got it in their 2nd attempt. N:B When are you supposed to resume? If you don't have much time to apply and wait for your gcms note you can reapply for your TRV and hope you thick all the boxes. Good luck |

SoniaBillion: how expensive can the tution fee be for Canadian university You people should stop asking some certain questions here, if you can't do simple research yourself then you have no business studying in Canada. Why wait for others to do a simple research on tuition fee and schools in Canada when a simple Google search will give you what you want? All I see here is people asking repeated questions and questions that can easily be gotten themselves online. NB: @All, please we should stop encouraging people who come here to ask repeated questions by referring or asking them to read previous pages(it is not too much for someone who intends to study). |

Gninea: Please be patient with me...I still have a question..can I have 2 cosponsors..my brother in Canada wants to give the 10k Canadian dollars then my uncle in Nigeria who has assets and property....then I have about 4million in my account but no property...I hope am not sounding confused...then would I need to fill a form b4 submitting the visa. You can have more than one sponsor, but what is your uncle bringing to the table here? what is he offering? if all he has is the 300k and hasn't showed any form of commitment, then it will be better to use only your brother that paid the 10k to your account as sponsor or you can say your uncle is one that gave you the 4mil as support |

Gninea: Thanks very much....it’s a one year program and am also considering the fact that his Acct balance currently is low at 300k It won't affect your app since he has paid for your upkeep and it is a one year program. The 300k isn't bad as long as he has a source of income (salary or business) to sustain himself and his other dependants while you are away. |

Please help me. Let your uncle be the main sponsor, while you the co-sponsor. Him paying the 10k is a big commitment and his assets and source of income will go a long way to convincing the vo he will be able to pay beyond the first year of your program (I want to believe your program is more than a year). |

Thanks Have you done your medical? If yes, then send the receipt you got from the clinic to CIC immediately. Also contact the clinic and remind them to send your result to CIC (though I feel they might have sent it cos it takes around 5 days for them to send it across to CIC).
