kingWB: Hello Everyone. Big ups to everybody contributing here and I'll really appreciate it if someone can help me with this problem. So I plan to start processing my travel and study soon but there is something that's been bothering me. I would like to work and possibly continue living after my studies in canada but I have a degree in psychology and I'm pursing an msc in the same course but apparently you have to have a PhD to practice psychology which means I most likely won't b able to secure a job after graduation. I would pursue PhD also but I only have funds enough to sponsor msc and would like to start working asap. My other alternative is to pursue a pgd in human resources management but I heard pgd don't get visas approved and also that lambton college is 27k c. a.d Anybody in canada that has any pointers would really b helpful. Thanks What you said about PGD applicant is completely FALSE. Aspa your intended program I will advise you go for your Msc, don't worry much about your PhD for now as you can get full funding for that when the time is right. I am not yet in Canada but that's my little take in this, hope it helps. NB: concerning you bot being able to practice psychology with your Msc I can't say about that, people with experience should be able to explain that |

Cc: CanadianNurse, I also concur to @Cscd1234 view. You can go to the airport tonight with your family members (1 or 2) then you wait. Your family members' presence will help tackle your boredom and it will be fun too, also it saves cost. Have a safe trip in advance bro. |

CanadianNurse: find the person checking you in small change at murtala muhammed! They will check it in
Please my flight is by 6:25 AM, I can't meet up by that time from lekki
Anyone knows a reasonably cheap hotel around the airport? Though I live close to airport road but won't be around tonight. The last time I checked the least I saw for hotel there is 15k(you hardly find any cheap hotel around that axis due to the easy access to the airport. I will advise you come around airport road today around 5pm today to book a room so you don't start rushing all the way from the island 2moro morning, try hotels inside Ajao estate as they will be less expensive compare to the ones on the main express to airport) |

Kindly treat as urgent please. I have misplaced the number but once your friend gets to alagbon let him/her ask for Alhaja's office (should be the 2nd office structure and the 4th office on that same block ). your friend should start bargain from 3k (it wont exceed 5k) |

jnyuwa02: Is there an official CIC policy on it, instead of taking someone's word on it on this forum? It becomes contentious though, just when they accuse you of misrepresentation to respond in 15 days and just after you've done that, then ask to withdraw simply because its taking time. They will just slap you with a five year ban. My advice is wait. Yes u can cancel ur application or request for your passport but it means automatic denial |

[quote author=maziude post=59237683]Hello bosses,
Sorry for the silence. I have been busy with settling down and meeting deadlines.
So, a quick update.
Got my Social Insurance Number (SIN) on friday after many persuasion from my supervisor. It is a 5 minutes process atleast in my case. So even if you dont ger to do it at your POE, you can always do it at any Service Canada office closest to you (they are everywhere).
I dont know if I mentioned this earlier, please hold enough cash when coming. This is your first time in a new location and settling down might be abit on the high side until you get stable.
For those renting apartments, usually landlords require the first and last month rent before they lease. So if your rent is 450/month, you will be required to pay 900 instantly, then subsequent rent will be monthly. Now, you see where having cash at hand is necessary. You might use your ATM, but be sure that ATM is working to avoid stories. Better still, have cash at hand for immediate needs and some in your account.
Spending tips... use discount offers if they are being offered, spend when necessary, look for items on sale (even the people wey get the land sef dey look out for discount and sales...so no go dey form).
Lastly, if you sabi bone well, you go need to adjust your face oh to accommodate smiling, because dem sabi smile well for here even for the offices.
Safe journey to those landing this week and the coming weeks.
For the TRV hopefuls, goodnews is around the corner.
@dere, @yomalicious and those delayed, I salute your never giving up spirit. God go do am.
Regards everybody,
Mazi. Thanks for the tip boss, we will join u soon God's willing. |

jnyuwa02: Attending school this September is the benchmark he/she put on timeframe is the problem. Getting the finances okay is the better route. EE can come when it comes. Someone here testified correcting a denial based on insufficient funds, reapplying and getting approved in two weeks. I think she said she intend resuming 2018 fall. so she has enough time to have gotten PPR before then |

I know MUN is affordable, but is it easy to gain admission, esp . for Nigerians? MUN is fair when it comes to giving out admisison, there lots of Nigerians there. Just make sure you meet up with the school/department requirements and you will get admitted (not forgetting prayer as well) |

Teeyme: Winter (january). Rounding up service this year November. Yes he made that clear in his declaration of sponsorship and in the study permit form under funds available. Good, pls try if you can to include your own statement of account (especially the one you use to collect your allawee), it's not compulsory but I think you should I Clyde it since you earn something in service(hope you have some cash in it? no matter how little ) |

Teeyme: Good afternoon good people of nairaland. I am new here, and have gotten lots of information from this thread right from part 12, which am still reading. I am about submitting my application tomorrow, but would like to showcase my document for review. It goes thus; Online route Course progression: Bsc Business administration-->> MBA Alll CIC forms Passport data page Passport page with UK visa Police clearance Birth certificate Admission letter Nysc call up letter Acceptance letter from ppa Nysc ID Undergraduate Cert Undergraduate transcript Neco result Sponsor(Dad) SOA with closing balance of 12m Sponsor's shares about 30m Sponsor's land asset about 5m Sponsorship letter Affidavit Declaration of sponsorship Semester fee receipt of $7500 from dom acct Digital photo And SOP addressing (career objectives, goals, purpose of visit, and why I choose Canada). I am currently undergoing my nysc. And I am bothered about the situation of home tie, as it seems I lack one. Your family is enough to be your hometie. Your profile looks good to me, but when are you resuming and when are you rounding up service? Hope you will round up service before going for the program? if yes try and state it in your sop. Your dad also needs to specify the amount he is committing for your studies . Lastly try and include your soa as well even you don't have large sum in it(just I case), |

cecechi: Please is there any space on the form to give reasons for denial. Yes there is (but it's optional). Also try to explain it on your sop cos I have seen here where applicants thick that they have been denied visa only and cic said they misinterpret so if possible try and explain any denial on ur sop so you can have something to hold cic to in case anything like that comes up |

John991: Guys am new here, will need alot of help.have been rejected a US study visa thrice now am thinking of Canada, which schools can I apply to and hope my US rejection will not affect my Canadian visa. The program you intend going for will determine the school to attend, try and use Google to narrow your search. As for your US denials it won't affect your Canada application, but make sure you make it known to the vo when filling your form and writing your sop (also state the reasons you were denied and how you have tackled it in your Canada visa application). Best of luck |
