What could be responsible for this burn and cracks? This is a 6yr panel but two of my panels suddenly one after the other developed this syndrome.
Is this panel by chance still functional?
Low quality, often cheaper than premium PVs, are prone to failure after some years of service. This failure is attributed to low quality part used to make the solar panels which makes them cheaper than the premium brand. Most that I know of fails after 3 years. This one even tried to get to 6 years.
I wouldn't use the solar panels if I'm you. Best to discard it to replace it.
On the other hand you can always check to see if the solar panels are correctly installed. Check out a good case of bad connection that may lead to catastrophic failure here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fD01tMkJDbg&t=4s
I wish people who build houses could give provision to having the house powered by renewable energy and thus make provision for some of these things like output DBs, input source and PV conduit point. Your people had to go through hell to provide this. Good job especially on the wall cracking which was just enough as was needed.
kristien4: Please @all, i have a little problem with my battery. They are 2 pieces of 10kwh lifepo4 connected in parallel, when being used, they dont drain uniformly, one battery could be at 87% the other at 95% . Is this normal?
Increase the size of the parallel cable or use a busbar to do the parallel.

ANTIFA: I don't even understand, at first they said Lagos air, now they said they came but I wasn't around... No call no nothing but it has updated.
Go to the NIPOST office nearest to you and pick your package. NIPOST don't do home delivery on AliExpress packages. When you see "unsuccessful delivery" it means your package is in their post office, it doesn't literally mean they tried to deliver and you weren't home
BigDickProblems: Can you share the temperature of your room via your phone app. That can actually give a clue as to such a high temperature. Bro in 35 degree celcius, you’ll sweat in a not-well ventilated room not to talk of 49 degree. Battery health is paramount.
The temperature is not the room temperature. It's the temperature of the component inside the inverter (MosFETs).
Haykay2001: Not just those 2 model at all.. Will advice ppl to stay away from sako for now.. I have been having issues with their inverter and battery.. . One of the cell in their battery is very low.. Been asking for solution how to balance it but nothing is forth coming.. The inverter itself have been giving issues since the day of Instllation.. That was early Nov 2024 less than 3 mths ago.. Now battery is no longer balance. I was told i need a load to lower the high voltage, which i know nothing abt.. I dont build battery. For the last 3days now they stopped responding to messages. I asked for their service center in Lagos so that i can send it for repair still no reply at all.. Items of less than 3mths and the customer is messaging me every single day.. Always on my neck.. 6.2kva paired with 10kwh battery. Anyone with solution should kindly help me out abeg.. 🙏 🙏 🙏
What is V1 to V4 readings? Batteries are out of balance. I wish their BMS has an active balance function. Also most of these batteries are welded, not bolted or screwed on, so servicing them is super hard without special tools.
I have a problem with my 8kva felicity inverter and my installer isn’t even coming to check it.
It trips off load all the time. I bought 8 unit of 600W panels, only 7 was connected, 1 was broken. At 100% capacity, it supposed to give me 4.2kW but I know that it’s not possible. I’d be receiving 3.5 - 4kW but I don’t get up to 500W total wattage from it. The 4 wet batteries are starplus products.
Now it doesn’t work effectively except I connect it to NEPA, but I should not be on NEPA because I’m not paying for it. I was even disconnected from NEPA which is very much ok, my solar energy system is supposed to be sufficient for me without NEPA.
The installer has refused to show up. What do you advise?
I’m in Lagos, in case you suggest another experienced installer and you can share their contact with me.
StarPlus is a low-quality tubular battery. That being said, I think you need another installer to check what the other installer did on the roof.
If the 8kVA is of the Felicity hybrid type, and the VoC of the solar panel is below 50V, the 7 panels should be connected in series. Before this is done, the installer should check each individual solar panel to confirm they are okay. You should get at least 2.5kW from this setup if positioned on the south-facing side of the roof, and the roof inclination is not too steep. The best roof inclination angle is one that is almost flat.
kristien4: Anyone has any idea on any good servo stabilizer, bought prag 30kva, and it got bad within few months, has anyone used himel or Mercury brand of servo stabilizer??
zenith4biz: The guy should have consulted, he can get 3000w pure sine wave inverter on nairaland for that amount even on AliExpress
Chinese are masters on deceptive advertising. They know how to hide details by careful "omission". They paste pure sine wave everywhere on their pure sine wave inverters, and then on their modified types they don't post anything. Crazy way of doing business.
vicarsenal: My TEMU order of a 3000w Pure Sine wave Inverter took 13 days to arrive at my pick up station in Ado-Ekiti.. TEMU means business... Kudos to them. Paid via bank transfer.. Just easy shopping...
Wow, this looks cool. Also you may need to recheck if this is truly pure sine wave, because from the little I know of China and their antics, is when they "omit" some details on a package just know that package may very LIKELY be lacking the attribute.
Notice the absence of "pure sine wave" anywhere on that package? That may deliberately mean this is not one. Anyways you just gotta crosscheck and confirm if this is the case.

Please if no trouble, kindly share a picture of it. How much did you get it?
Teophilus96: My findings is that my Felicity MPPT is not set well, I believe. The controller reads my battery as full, whereas the PWM keeps charging it because I was able to set it better.
My panels are 3parrallel connection of 200watts panels. It’s a LifePo4 battery. I am not just getting the settings of my MPPT controller yet. Can you help?
Especially with the Absorbtion voltage and Float voltage. It’s not like I don’t know these things I have set the values appropriately (14.4V and 13.6V respectively) but they didn’t help. I have tweaked in a lot of ways but still experiencing the same thing.
So what I do now like I saw someone here do too, was use the MPPT to charge it fast to that point where it will no longer charge the battery, and then continue charging with PWM for full charge and then connect back to MPPT for proper voltage regulation. This is what I’ll keep doing till I get it right.
But I’ll really appreciate if you can help me as well as I have seen you have such a vast knowledge on these things. Thanks.
MPPT tends to perform better if connected in series. If you mentioned your MPPT max VoC and your solar panel VoC that could help. PWM on the other hand tends to perform better the closer the PV input voltage is to the system voltage.
fuckboys: he didn't start using renewable energy today, HE CURRENTLY SWITCHED TO A LIFEPO4 BATTERY probably after previously using some older battery technology.
