I wonder why people don't like to hear the truth! You were offered the best advice on the cost-effective courier to use for your shipment, yet you're still telling stories! Since you know that the carriers you mentioned are the best and fastest why complaining about huge customs charges?

No doubt about it, Speedaf and Nipost are the cheapest logistics for deliveries coming into the country. Where Speedaf is not available, Nipost automatically fills in the gap. If you're not comfortable with them (Nipost) , and you feel their service is too slow, you're free to go for any express courier of your choice and then be ready to pay through your nose when your items arrive.
I guess some things are better experienced than explained. My explanation may not look good. Let experiencing it help.

Update on this review:
I recently installed 2 more of this CC : one for my use and one for a friend. Both CCs behaved different from previous installs.
1) They get much hotter than the older make. I suspect the fan speed. The new ones have fans that are very silent but not as efficient as older variants. Temps of the new ones got as high as 65°C despite the fan being on!
2) The temperature sensor gauges differently on the old and new variants ans could be off by almost 5-10 degree
3) On a good note, harvest seems better than the old variants
How do you know which one you got? The OLD variants had a light that constantly blinks in the fan recess in front.
My second mppt controller is this type of MPPT. I have one still working since 2014/15 The thing is a beast.

I saw them installing over 650 number of 550w longi panels today in Justrite supermarket across the road, right in front of my Estate. That's over 300kw of pv . Big companies are turning to solar to power their businesses
The last 3 years have really got big firms keying into solar power.

The item I bought on Aliexpress, the seller shipped it using FedEx, FedEx sent me a mail to pay 37k for Customs duty and clearance. I have never experience this before since I have been buying on Aliexpress, the seller already charged a huge shipping fee on the item.

Please what do I do in this scenario, I never prepare I ll pay any additional fee.
You have to pay. No other way. Next time inform seller not to use FedEx or DHL. Let them use normal mail or Speedaf. No issues with custom duty that end.

Someone mentioned few posts back that appliances may stop working if put in storage for a long time without use. Is this why you made that statement
- (deform for lack of use)?
This is very true. My 8 x 18650 charger/analyser that I bought and never used have failed to work.

My Reolink 5MP camera I bought and kept for like 2 years (forgot I had it sad ) has gone bad too.

Same thing happened to my heart rate monitor I bought and never used. Remembered the other day I was doubting the rate my watch gave after an exercise smiley The thing no longer works.

All these devices no longer works after about 3 years of it been left in their pack

Can anyone explain why this happens?

These days I'm now using every electronic I have. Don't want to be caught lacking again smiley

Your responses have been helpful. What about custom fees and the like? I heard that's a huge problem. If I send $6k worth of Lithium Batteries, the custom dues would be crazy.
Never paid ₦1 as custom duty for all the sea shipping I've done so far. Must've been factored into the shipping cost.

You can always buy from China and ship it direct to them. Sea shipping rate is not bad, just takes more time with ETA between 45 to 90 days.

So your friends in the US use those companies to send you products? I thought your friends were buying stuff and sending them to you. Anyways, looking at that growatt, it's Kinda cheaper buying it in Nigeria than buying it in the US. So I don't see the significant gain here in that one example. Tax break is just 30% and it's for the whole system not just for an inverter. Except I am not really understanding. I am happy to discuss more about this with you.
Just providing you the companies you can use to ship things down from there...you don't really have to buy a single Growatt from US to ship down here. It may not be the most cost effective things to do.

My inverter was actually included in a big purchase from Signature solar and their warranty covers it.

It won't be cheaper to just source Chinese product from the US unless there's a deal to be had.

Sometimes I do buy things like phone, power tools, etc from the US, I use heroshe to ship it down or have a friend bring it down when they visit Nigeria, which is often.

From punch newspapers..... At least AYM SHAFA petrol filling stations almost always have electricity.... NIGUS is the same company responsible for the 5 abi 7 mega watt solar setup in sebore dairy farms in adamawa... The farm was started by murtala nyako the former governor or adamawa state... But his son aminu is running things, if you have drank "admiral" yoghurt, know that you drank yoghurt that the manufacturing process from milk collection to bottle packaging was all solar powered... If am not mistaken thier battery is like 7Mwh.
I was about to ask who's bankrolling em, then I saw former governor and it all makes sense.

Got myself a QCY HT05, wasn't expecting much from it. But I'm blown away by the mid and bass and clarity. Also it's sure has a faster connection to my phone compared to my previous 1More earbud that I bought for thrice the price. Found it be super light especially when compared with my Edifier. ANC not too bad when you come to think of the price range.

Give QCY a chance if you are in the market for good earbud that won't break the bank.

It's a solid 5 star from me smiley

Feb 2025 Update: Earbuds still rocks smiley

Excellent wind noise reduction, can converse on the outdoors when cycling and still get heard by the receiver.

Will buy again.

I wanted a 4 battery pack that I can use to jumpstart the car and if I am very adventurous, I can use it instead of the LA battery in my car.

I just need 4 cells and a BMS.

Hence the expression jumpstart pack
I bought grade B 100AH Sinopoly lithium cells in China 4 years ago for this. Battery still in use for such practice till today. Crazy thing I'm using it without BMS. smiley

Yes, those white wires are part of the sensor wires to check the individual battery voltages. Maybe another image attached will help.

Update on the AC:

° Another one hour and I noticed that the consumption had ramped up to 271w and stayed there. Since I wasn't at home, I couldn't tell what was going on. I came home after 2 hours and noticed that the external unit had kicked in, and was probably responsible for that ramp up to 271w from the initial 15w. The room temperature remained at between 26deg to 27deg. It's four hours after and the consumption had further dipped to 267w

It seems there is something "energy saving" about this unit after all. Although I assume temperatures still get to as low as 18 deg with these ACs, the 26 degrees notwithstanding is adequate for a lone me in the room.

NB: Pardon the long story. I just felt being detailed enough helps to inform readers, and maybe prospective users, better on these things.
This is good to hear.

It's best you follow the manual of the one you bought. Here's a 48v battery balancer from PowMr. May or may not be the same with the one you have.

I will share with you my personal experience with these servo stabs.

THEY WORK AT THE BEGINING BUT WILL GRADUALLY FAIL.

Yes, they will fail because the movable parts on that huge toroidal coil will interact with the dusts that are settling on the spindle and coil. After a while, the dust might create a short circuit on the surface of the coil and then the stab will start dropping breaker or fuse due to the explosions from the short-circuit.
I have had this issue with more than four different brands, same issue ooo. Service center guys will try to file off the affected surface and it will work well only for the fault to return after a while.
I eventually stopped taking stuff to the service centers and started opening them up first damn the warrantee, see what went wrong and decide if I should go through the hassle of lifting heavy stabs to service center every now and then.
So during my quest, I discovered that DUST IS THE WORSE ENEMY OF A SERVO STAB.

Then I switched to a relay version and I have been using it for more than 5 years and counting without a single issue.

My Advice: If you must do a servo stab, make sure it's dust proof.
I have been using a servo AVR for 8 years now. Yeah, dust is an issue, as long as the coil is great, you are good to go. Mine was even bought used. I don't think I'll get the regulation I get from this from a normal relay AVR as this beast can handle crazy NEPA low voltage (which I hardly use). A relay AVR will truly struggle to do what it can do.

So I don't wanna make another terrible error, this time with a central stabilizer. I may need to get one anytime as I was able to secure a prepaid meter that has for a while been installed but not used cos it had some error codes which made me unable to load a key change code and credit. The issue has been resolved. So I discovered the voltage supply is a terrible regular 160v and seldom 180v.
Stavol by Matsunaga is a better make. Go to JiJidotng and search for Stavol AVR or Matsunaga. They do make awesome servo AVR

I saw a Bluegate 20kva there too, that stabilizer can boost 130v to 220v.

Quick question for all the gurus in the house...

I'm seriously looking at changing to lithium batteries. My challenge is the cost. I've also seen people advice that you can start small and add more later.

My questions are

1. Can multiple brands be coexist? for example, if i get a good deal on a 10kwh felicity battery today, and a deal on a 10kwh blue carbon tomorrow, can I add them?

2. can multiple power capacities coexist? say I can only afford 5kwh today, and tomorrow i'm able to buy 10 or 15kwh, can I add them together? or will I be stuck with 5kwh increments?

3. What's the maximum period between such additions? if I buy a lithium battery today, Can I add another maybe in a year or two? for tubular batteries, people usually say that it's not advisable.

Thank you.
Not recommended, but you can if you don't have a choice. Anyways when you do experiment of such nature, this may likely void the warranty on any of the product. As a DIYer, you sometimes just gotta do what you gotta do and damn what follows.

But if you'll love to do this, isn't it better to build your battery? I built my battery so I can do whatever I want.
