Xanderone: From what I've read here, hisense' performance is better than LG's. But I don't think Hisense has at par energy saving options as LG has. I haven't even come across any hisense special names for AC the same way LG has (smart inverter, dual inverter) or Thernocool (Genpal)
Hisense ńa just Hisense. 😊
But it is always way cheaper than LG and thermocool which basically market their already established names. Not just their ACs but most of their appliances.
As per that deal, I hope they find buyer soon jàre. I don't like the way I'm seeing that AC everyday. It makes me mad with myself each time I see it or use it.
If una find anybody wey dey interested sha. I'm even ready to foot the logistics bills to the person. That's true. I got a spec sheet photo of the LG Dual inverter spec

Xanderone: So I checked on them Monday and explained my situation. But it isn't all good news jàre.
On the AC, they said they can't take it back cos it's been installed already. But they promised to help me get a buyer in no distant time. They said something however that caught my attention. That their AC sales (demands by customers) are mostly Hisense and that before they get to sell one unit LG, they've already cleared like 10 units Hisense ACs. That's a good deal if you ask me. Could it be because Hisense is cheaper than LG and works just as well especially for those not particularly interested in energy efficiency? |

Blaqq2: So guys I made a huge mistake while ordering a PC screen and ordered a slightly different model I disputed and they requested I return it Can I return through speedaf and any idea on the cost? The rule of the game is not to attempt to return packages to China. The reason is simple, the cost of return may often make it unprofitable. Try for other means of resolution that doesn't require a return unless of course you've checked and shipping to China is no longer expensive. Speedaf do not ship to China from Nigeria. Your options are NIPOST, DHL, FEDEX, UPS, etc. |

Trippledots: Let me relay my personal experience. For the CC I use, 24v system accepts max Pv input of 100v so I used a PV of 105v. If the app breaker is turned off during high sunshine and turned back on the CC goes into an error mode. But if allowed to wake normally in the morning as the sun rises, it works well since the load on the CC keeps the input value sub 100v. This is very interesting update. So if one mistakenly turns off PV during midday that's it for the day. Lol. Good one. Thank you. |

Namzy: I thought they phased out this model? I did same mistake in 2020 when I thought gen mode will mean lower watts, only for me to be seeing more than 1000w in gen mode for extended periods. The painful thing is that I watched a review on same lg inverter AC by an Indian and his lg inverter ac can be set at different power levels ranging from 40% and so on with considerable lower watts. The gen mode is just a scam. But I read here that newer LG inverter ac now has that different power level options that has been present in other countries for years. The newer remote control has an "energy saving" button unlike this older model That's interesting. @zeestone99 can you share a picture of your remote? |

PotatoSalad: I followed the hype on AC thread and got the thermocool AC in 2020. Below average performance. In terms of power efficiency, LG beats Hisense, plus you get other orishirishi smart features like ThinQ. But if you own a solid solar setup and just want all round AC performance at a good price, I always recommend the Hisense inverter AC with R410A gas. Mortuary Standard AC. 1 hour on 20°C and you're running to get your thickest hoodie.
But if money na water, just get a Panasonic. 😂 Not in Tinubu regime isangjohnson: LG is more power efficient than the Hisense. LG dual inverter is better than LG Smart inverter. Definitely going for the LG Dual inverter, the reviews are great. I had my sight set at Thermocool due to its energy efficiency. Though my main aim is to get a very efficient ac, one should not get something that doesn't work as I have seen many say Thermocool just doesn't work. zeestone99: It's sad that he got the wrong type of air conditioning unit. I too did not know LG makes different inverter ACs and energy saving is optional in some model. I have a 1.5hp LG inverter ac that consumes about 400w plus after a while especially at night, I have seen it do 395w thereabout at some point. During the day it ramps up about 900w plus then drops to around 550w plus to 600w thereabout. Please which model of LG inverter AC do you use? 550-600w for a 1.5HP AC is super impressive. |

Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by mctfopt: 6:04pm On May 18, 2024 |
Xanderone: Thanks so much.
I believe the consumption can drop as much as 650w sef, so long as the set temperature is reached. Right now at 5:56pm,it has dropped to 831 watts with the room temperature at 27 degrees. That's the thing with inverter tech. But I don't believe it's comparable to the reviews I got about the LG dual inverter and maybe the Thermocool Gen pal series, whose consumption can drop to as low as 400w after cooling is achieved. That 250watts extra alone makes much difference when you're running off of batteries at night. I mean, my Thermocool inverter freezer alone uses 200w at it works well overnight. The balance of 50watts can still power a TV for another 6 hours before you retire to bed.
I assume the "Gen mode" is meant for the dual inverters or some other models close to it that has LVS (low voltage starter) and AVS (Automatic Voltage Switch) features in them, something which my model obviously lacks.
I don't think this can be returned. My request was for LG INVERTER AC and that's what I was provided. I wasn't particular about DUAL cos I was even ignorant about a dual inverter version anyways. The merchant and I both have a nice relationship and I wouldn't wanna strain it by rubbing my own mistake on them. Although I may explore the possibility sha, but Shey I will tell them that I want to return what I bought ni? 😂. What of the pre-filled gas that has already been used?
I feel if I can just do a garage sale to a willing buyer with about 60 to 80k off the original price. You can ask to return it and maybe add some money to cover some of üse"you have done. So its dual inverter for the win. If this is the USA you can totally return this without any issues My total load sometimes is less than 250w at night, so every watt counts |

Compliant: Same thing happened to me some days ago here in abuja. My 3.5 inverter just went off during the lightning while my 2.5 inverter installed beside this 3.5 is just working normal.
I had to call the installer to get explanation as to what happened because i have a surge protector installed.
He came around to check ONLY for us to see that someone had removed the surge protector and the only person that came around to do maintenance work was his boy, we called him and he said he saw the surge protector there but did not touch it, meaning a ghost came to my house to remove surge protector guys.
Today i was told by the repairer that the board is bad and a new board is around 140,000 to 160,000 ( i dont know true this is) These guys have a whatsapp group for charges as a friend just paid a similar price to fix a 3.5kva. Sorry about that |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by mctfopt: 5:27pm On May 18, 2024 |
Xanderone: So I tried the Gen mode on the remote. Result is disappointing. Apparently the Gen mode button isn't supposed to work on this model. It appears this remote is universal for some models of LG ACs, so it's not every button on it thar works. I simply pressed the button and watched out for any changes in the power consumption, but nothing worthy of note happened.
I checked the manual and it seems everything that has to do with "energy saving" is optional for this unit that I got, except maybe the fact that the "inverter" model it is makes it to ramp up slowly.
So the jet mode ramps up to 1010w, cools the room from 31 degrees to 28 degrees in about 30 minutes and the the jet mode deactivates. By then, the consumption had dropped to 957 watts.
It's s currently down to 944w as I'm typing.
This has got to be my saddest gadget purchase in a very long time. The only thought filling my head right now is how many premium solar panels I could have secured with the almost 500k price tag on this useless AC purchase, and my spirit will be happy with me that my power generation increase is guaranteed for another 10 years.
Really mad at myself. Sorry about this experience. But I thought I have seen someone say their LG inverter AC power consumption can drop below 700w. As Gen Mode button is not working on this model, which model does it work for? Any possibility of return as what you got is not what you want? Once again sorry about this experience. |
