naijaboy756: Please can I cancel an order on Aliexpress and get a refund?
I did something foolish by asking a friend in the UK to pay for items worth $124 thinking it will be done at official rates. Now I have to pay back more than I budgeted and I’m also seeing that custom duty may apply
What is the best way out pls?
Our people in the diaspora knows more about black market rates than us here
Tochex101: Much regards...I dont particularly mind shipping fee....I just need to check for quality assurance. I'll balance the cost on subsequent bulk purchase.....I wanted to be sure I can get a shipper for little quantity at first.
This is how it works, chat seller of item. Tell him what you want to buy, then chat Nonikings for their Chinese warehouse address. Give the seller the address to ship the items to, after telling him you have a forwarder in China. Pay for the item, shipper will ship to Nonikings (in this instance) and Nonikings will ship your items to Nigeria. Get tracking number of goods when shipped within China and send it to Nonikings.
FYI: This is a disclaimer that I am in no way affiliated with this forwarder, just have used their services in the past and they delivered. Do your own research and decide if you want to use em or not. Cheers.
Tochex101: Co ask....want to try small purchase, once I'm satisfied with quality...then I order bulk.
The biggest challenge is shipping. You may get the goods cheaper, but sometimes the shipping is just too high.
I'll give you an instance, I once ordered an item sold at AliExpress for $25 for $8 at Alibaba with $3 local shipping to a freight forwarder in China. I bought 4 and ended up paying ₦25,000 as freight fee. Dollar exchanges for roughly ₦600 then in parallel market. That means I paid $41 as shipping. Had I bought one, I would've bought it higher than what it's been sold at AliExpress.
So check your shipping and check AliExpress and see if the purchase makes any sense. Also don't forget to check Nigeria too. Sometimes we have people selling these in Nigeria. My major problem is the items I usually buy is not sold here, so I got no choice but to buy in China
TheLoneCitizen: If I ship from sellers that allow single purchases, is it seamless like Aliexpress?
With 1688, how much extra fees did you pay? Which third party did you use?
Seamless depends on the seller and how you managed the transaction. By that I mean how well you communicated, your freight forwarder, the type of goods you are buying, the willingness of the seller to sell just a piece at a reasonable price, etc.
The third party I used is no longer in business as this was three years ago.
KingCassy: Hi all.. is there any thread fr alibaba because alibaba tends to be cheaper
You do more work buying things here because of some of the following reasons:
1) The site is geared towards wholesalers, most sellers won't even deal with you if you are buying only 1 piece
2) Sellers won't ship for you, when they do the cost is usually super expensive when compared to AliExpress shipping cost.
3) You have to chat up the sellers to confirm the actually cost of items listed. Don't be surprised seeing an item listed for $70 is actually being sold one for $150. That $70 is the cost when you buy 5000 pieces or more.
4) Unless you know what you are doing, reviews at Alibaba is not as great as reviews at AliExpress, so an uninformed buyer may end up buying low quality items.
Now to the upsides, if you know your way around via doing your own personal shipping, verifying quality of items, negotiating with the sellers, etc you'll end up with a better deal than AliExpress. But often times you only get this deal when you buy at wholesale.
Since most buyers here only buy like in retail quantity, that may explain the lack of a thread for Alibaba shoppers.
Got these items from top deals. All three for just $11.9 with shipping.
Bank rate is around #491
The quality of these items may be questionable. Chinese actually know how to make their quality goods pricey. A Bluetooth earbud I got for $77 two years ago still works. The type I got for ₦5000 while waiting for it to arrive failed under two weeks; you usually get what you pay for- most of the time.
NiyiOmoIyunade: Topup is in response to low water levels in a battery cell.
If none of your cells are short of water after a careful visual inspection then there is no need to topup.
Beware that any flotation based battery water level indicators are indeed working correctly and not deceiving you hence I said after a careful visual inspection of the water levels per cell.
Once the above checks out and you satisfied yourself that you are charging at a proper voltage for your battery then you are good to go.
That floatation thing sometimes get stuck. Then you are O.Y.O
bigrovar: Jinko only has one distributor in Nigeria ( based on their website) they do have presence in Alaba. They also happen to be the official distributor for JA, and Longi.
You can reach the +234 803 373 1860 (as displayed on Jinko website)
jonescosmos: If your question is weather Amazon is delivering items to Nigeria, Yes they are but if and only if the item seller has marked the item as deliverable to Nigeria.
If your question was weather Amazon is still kicking off the Amazon Nigeria Warehouse as they propsed before, Yes they are but it will take some time. Jumia, Konga and some other Nigerian Online merchants are being fingered as sabotaging the project big time.
Konga and Jumia can only do so much till the tsunami carries them off.
Kaybaba5: I need advise I have 110ah lithium battery Have gotten 2kw inverter and 60amps charger controller. I was told to get 600w slolarpanel Am. In Delta I saw one 320w polycloud solar panel on jumia don't know if it's OK. Thanks
odimbannamdi: Please, be very careful with this installation. One mistake and the fan won't work.
I got 2 units from a seller on Konga via offline sales. My installer made a silly mistake and the first one didn't work. We had to watch a video from YouTube (link below) together and we corrected the mistake in the second fan.
I had to reach out to the seller who then directed me to the distributor at alaba international who finally directed me to their service centre also.there in Alaba and it was repaired. It was not a palatable experience. I spent the whole day on that move.
