queenfav: Good evening house, pls is there any protective device i can get to protect my inverter and solar set up from thunderstorms?
1. Install a lightning arrestor on the electrical system. This device will divert the lightning strike away from the inverter.
2. Install surge protectors on the electrical system. These devices will absorb the surge from the lightning strike and protect the inverter from damage.
3 Install grounding rods around the inverter. This will help to dissipate the electrical charge from the lightning strike, reducing the risk of damage.
Namzy: When I see people advertise these "solar DC freezers" at exorbitant prices, I wonder what's the usefulness since the watts used is similar to an ac freezer minus the starting watts for compressor. I'll even get an inverter ac freezer over the solar freezer as I see no advantage
Almost most of this solar freezers are so frail as the importers usually buy the cheapest with zero regards to quality. You are better off buying reputable low wattage AC fridge and freezers.
Please has anyone ordered Drone with good camera, stable control & affordable from Aliexpress, i need recommendation & store if possible from the pros here, its really important & urgent
Thanks@all
Buy any DJI product. Mavic Mini, Mini 1 or 2 is a great way to start. Avoid any other make you see, forget their 4k and 6k bogus camera specs and wonderfully edited pictures and fake 5-star reviews. You will regret it if you buy any other make. I bought mine from Alibaba though. 3 years and no regret
aking123: Everyone is talking about Gotok but no one is talking about Pyypl. Truth is, pyypl is better than gotok... very small deposit charges (0.01BUSD) compared to Gotok (1% of amount).
Coming from someone who has used the edifier tws 1 pro, what would you consider an upgrade for me in terms of sound, battery life and general longevity. I love the earbuds but someone greater seems to be using mine recently.
Try 1More Comfobuds. Battery life is like 5hrs approx. Great sound and really comfortable to wear. Who is that someone greater that is using yours?
Bossman: Another video showing the setup with starlink. You will need to factor in the cost of all equipment to see if it's worth it. You will need 2 of the devices beam one to the next, plus a router at the 2nd location as well. Other things to consider are the electricity issues, reduction in speed, etc.
Stanley08: Watch my Starlink Unboxing & Speedtest Video
The problem also is that Starlink USA ships it to Starlink Nigeria and uses your name as Care/Of C/O. So please make sure you contact DHL and update your information with them IMMEDIATELY you get your tracking number.
My friend has Starlink and we are brainstorming on how to extend it to another house on the same street 2km away. Got any suggestions? Thanks
osayuwamwen: This is the Felicity charge controller I bought for 105k, is this one good also, pls u guys should also help me with the name of a good 12v 1.5kva or 1.7kva inverter I should buy and a good flooded tabular battery
osayuwamwen: This is not about saving money, I went through all the store that I know today I did not see that jinko, saw this choice, vip and sunflex or something like that,
Jinko seller will do interstate shipping for you. You don't even need to physically visit their outlet.
mangolpupa: Bros before you confirm you're disappointment with the panel. Can you ensure
1) it's not "backing" the sun and is on an axis that harness sunrise and sunset in your location.
2) if you already have no 1 sorted. Please consider optimising the tilt angle of your panels. This often overlooked factor can mean the difference between generating 100WH and 130WH in the same position.
Try this first before concluding (this is assuming you've not tried it).
All the best my oga.
He employed a solar meter to assess the energy generated by the solar panels, so it's likely he found the most suitable angle and sun position to get the best results since the panels are probably on the ground.
Babalegba: I'm hesitant for the moment because the company is an immigration specialist and they've been building the brand for a few years. I want to give them a bit of leeway to make things right. If nothing is done by Saturday then I will know they are acting in bad faith and will put into motion efforts to warn Nigerians about them so people don't fall into their trap. I'm trying not to be too hasty especially as they gave me a call yesterday to tell me they are working on solving the problem
Ok, didn't know they are on it. Thought they ignored your complaints.
Babalegba: Everybody should avoid Vesti dollar card. Once your money is in their dollar card ,you can't use it for any purchase big or small and they keep telling you they are working on it. but you cannot liquidate your money so it's effectively trapped. Im mulling reporting them to FCCPC as well as other relevant agencies.
Blaqq2: Hi guys So I funded my gotok account today and tried to order something of $50 but was canceled by aliexpress and requested to appeal I appealed and they said I should provide my card statement but gotok card no get bank statement !!! So how do I do about it abeg
Used same gotok yesterday to make payment with no issues. You have to appeal. Maybe take a screenshot from gotok showing card details ( black out some numbers in the card).
The screenshot should show the exact amount debited in AliExpress. I guess this should do it.
GloriousGbola: A partner wants to go all in on PV installations so I did some research. Felicity solar are the only lower tier solar who have a proper website and proper documentation of all their products. They also have very wide coverage. Across Africa.
Most of these solar products Google searches takes you to jumia and ends there. Or the company ends in Ikeja.
We also went to felicitys main office in okota. They have a workshop filled to overflowing. Whether that is a good sign or not depends on you.
It's a good sign, at least it shows their after sales services is not just on the paper.
Trippledots: I recently repaired a felicity hybrid on warranty. It's cooling fan failed and something roasted inside. It has been installed back and working welk so far... I think Felicity is trying in that regards.
That's true, I've had them repair a friend's inverter too free of charge. I was shocked, the friend only covered transportation cost of sending it to their office and back. They are trying.
earthrealm: hahahahhaha, i have been on both sides of the table at different times, so i have an unbiased perspective.
errrm, but lemme ask you....since we all know that these chinese products are substandard, why do we still buy them?...why not go for premium products that cost an arm an a leg like victron or morning star?. the morning star 60amps charge controller is 650 dollars...wch is about 500k plus, then seller factors in profit..its heading towards 600k for a bloody charge controller -- but it comes with a robust 5yr few questions asked waranty, they sent out a replacement unit, sharp. but we all prefer the elcheapo 100k charge controller and still expect a world class performance. .
for these chinese products, most sellers are middle men and dont have the willpower & muscle to push for waranty from where ever they bought it from, only felicity, growatt , aedunamis to some extent, have i heard honor waranties. i would advice if you must buy these chinese products ..buy direct from the big distributor in nigeria, 2nd best option buy from the manufacturer/or big seller in china. they usually have a 1yr waranty, felicity i learnt does 2yrs waranty...Deye offers 5yrs waranty..but costs over 2x that of the average china inverter....so the avg nigerian runs from it. victron offers 5yr waranty, but costs about 4x the cost of avg china inverter .- na so people dey pick race, .....
I've had a Chinese seller replace my Fangpusun charge controller after 18 months by sending another charge controller free of charge and even used DHL to waybill it, I bought the charge controller then $276 in 2016. It may not be premium, but some sellers still know how to honour a warranty. They gave me 2 years warranty. Still using the replacement till date, got no reason to give it up, it simply still works
durodee: I recently had an inverter that stopped working less than 3 months of purchase. Next i was slammed with a bill of 120k for repairs. Reason: the components inside failed, hence it's not covered . This then begs the question of what exactly is covered?
The last person that tried this had to share the cost of the repairs with me as I had to insist they tell me what exactly they cover in their warranty and how I voided it. You'll be surprised to see they have nothing to say!
NpvnStar: I exactly asked myself this same question. and asked the person as well. what else happens to a stabilizer asides a burnt component? after sales service for Nigerian establishments who just order components and couple in the country.
Keep pushing till they tell you EXACTLY what their warranty cover, it'll be interesting to hear what they'll have to say.
earthrealm: , cos this wretched country called nigeria manufacturers almost nothing and are relying on the warranty support&spares of the chinese, and the chinese knowing the end user countries have poor quality standards, ship in all sorts of cheap low grade devices that the average african can afford.
They know the products they are selling is substandard, the least they could do is offer a real warranty. This is the reason I don't take warranties from here serious as only very few will honour it when push comes to shove.
NpvnStar: I bought it February this year. It just smoked without any warning or even protecting itself. The lead never even exceeded 60%. Even if it's a load issue, it claims to have overload protect
I've contacted the marketer I bought it from on their website and he is saying that their warranty does not cover burnings of components but that I should still send them the stabilizer
Do you have any idea how long it takes for them to fix it?
What exactly does their warranty cover? Paint chipping off the container? WTF is wrong with most Nigerian establishment and their crooked warranty clauses deliberately done to shy away from ever offering any meaningful warranty?
futurenix: I have few qties of 1.2KW Top One hybrid inverter available with: 3.6KW peak power 15A AC charging 40A MPPT charge controller Lithium battery charging option Toroidal transformer 12V and 24V available 160k
A friend uses this make of an inverter. 3 years and counting. No issues. Bought his in China.
