FamilyRe: Why Fathers Are Neglected In Old Age. ( A Must Read For Guys) by mctowel01: 2:00pm On May 23, 2017
AstuteJay:
Let's not kid ourselves, the most important factor is the financial muscle. Once this is intact, the father rules his entire life.

Even when the kids are all grown and doing well, they dare not mess up with him because they still need his goodwill and contacts. If and when the mother messes up, the father (a typical African man) marries another wife and moves on with his life.

Dear men, let's do everything possible to build our financial muscle so as to continue to wield the big stick our entire life!

Power resides where money is.
What if you become unfortunate with a medical condition and your kids are making escuses from seeing you, simply because they have no connection with you, simply because you have only been useful as a moneybag. See, it will be the new definition of miserable if you keep "bossing" insensitively all your life, cos if that money dries up, or if even the kids prosper so well and eventually don't need your money, you will hate your years.

No matter how strict my dad is, I still love him and will not neglect him when he gets old.
Thats because he was able to balance when to be strict and when to be soft. Many Nigerian men don't know this, hence they are seen as sadists by their children... terrible.

Having an erection is a biological thing and does not have anything to do with money. Life is a choice,if a girl decides to date a broke guy then she has made her choice.
Another thing I have observed lately is that Nigerians worship money and that's a very bad trend. Nobody wants to work hard anymore. Them ladies always on the look out for already made men to take care of their problems.
The actual god nigerians worship is money. They are slaves to it, no values at all.

Broke or not, respect each other. Money does not make anyone.. You can have all the money in the world, and still be unhappy. Money is good just like everything else, but if you're a miserable person, you will remain in misery no matter how much money you have.
I wish everyone on earth become billionaires, so that people will see that money does not solve all life's problems

Secondly, its equally essential for a woman to have money just as it is for a man. Making Money is not exclusively what a man should aspire for. Women should also hustle their way to the top. Men are not money making machines. Men are human-beings just like women, so why should it be their job to make money for you?
Regardless, everyone needs to have it at the back of their mind that, MONEY WILL NOT BRING HAPPINESS. Once you accept this, and you know what money means to you, go out there and work hard to get it
Very mature comment. Surprised its coming from a lady.
RomanceRe: Ladies, 10 Ways To Keep Peaceful Relationships With Broke Guys by mctowel01:
Whenever I read ladies or guys calling men broke, I get irked, not because I think they deserve to be, but because I ve seen enough to know that we do not control 100% of circumstances and situations in our lives. I ve been lucky to achieve something very worthwhile and its not like I didn't work hard, I did, and so is every other person out there. In actual fact, some circumstances beyond my control went in my favor to help, which some might not be priviledged to have. Yes there are some lazy persons, but at least 8 out of 10 guys I see out there are hustling it hard. Lets respect the dignity of our struggles, lets refrain from demeaning them with words like "broke, poverty stricken"..etc

I can especially when he produces RESULTS. I respect the hustle o, even i am hustling too(not broke o) but we live in a result oriented society. Relationships are investments.
Blunt and straight. Thanks for your honesty. Amazing that those who say otherwise, end up doing the same thing, yet, they won't admit it.
But you do agree that fortunes change, and sometimes, life takes a full turn on people, even after making plans. For example, after the recent oil dip, some workers were laid off, and many have been really struggling from there, especially with the harsh economy. Many other examples abound. Will you then leave such a person, being result oriented? I ll like to know your opinion.

What of a guy whoz got a plan, ambition, works very hard and is paying his little bills, but is broke, I mean financially, can you date such person?

Important info to you guys using online plagiarism checkers.
.
Some of these online checkers save a copy of your document after the scans. This remains in a public database which EA do have access to. It means that it is possible that EA will run a scan on your work, and find high similarity, just because a plagiarism software has saved your work online. I advise you avoid it completely. Since you ve written the CDR in your own words, be confident that there is no issue of plagiarism. Using online checkers can cause more unnecessary issues.

Yes, that it what it means, at least with the current rate.

Abi Mctowel01 wetin you feel? huh
E no dey possible again. They ve cancelled including parents into visa application. They only allow child dependents below 23 or above 23 with some disability that prevents them from working.
The only viable way I know with regards to having children who are residents, is through sponsorship, where they pay $5k for 3years and $10k for 5 years. The total maximum possible stay is 10 years. The parent(s) is ineligible to work and must have provide insurance. Na wetin I know for the parent visa, there may be other alternatives, i dont know

@bellong and other seniors in the house

I have a family friend who is very keen to move out of the country and Australia is one of the favorites. He has 15 years of work experience while the wife has 10 years and they have both managed an agro-based enterprise together for the past 10 years. He has HND Accountancy while the wife has BA/B.Ed English.

The major concern is their ages: The man is 52 while the wife is 45 so having the required points is almost impossible. I have personally reviewed visa subclasses 132 and 188; the required net assets are very high!

I estimate the net assets of the couple to be about 185,000 AUD. What alternative routes do you think they can take? Any suggestions?

cc: WellEndowed
PR eligibility states that applicant must be below 50years at the point of applying. So i think he is not eligible for subclasses 189/190

Dear Team,

I really your assistance concerning which of the assessment authority will assess my credentials. I am a graduate of Electronic/Electrical Engineering but currently working as a network administrator. is it EA or ACS? awaiting your swift response.

regards
Write the the CDR as a telecoms engineer. It suits your work experience and qualification. EA hardly give Electrical engineer especially when you lack some specific roles done in power. Such roles are rarely done at undergraduate level.

Ok , then why engineers Australia has written that an engineering manager should typically have 7 years of experience as civil engineer before he can demonstrate sufficient abilities as engineering manager, and then he should have 3 years experience as engineering manager. You are right that I should keep calm but I don't think EA will defy what they have written themselves, so they can't ignore my experience as civil engineer
I understand what you mean. You re saying EA might include the civil engineering years along with the managerial years, due to their stated requirements . Truth is this will be depend on the understanding of the assessor of your application. So just leave it and await the decision.

Hello everyone, can someone please guide me regarding engineers Australia assessment system, I have applied as an engineering manager, in msa guide of EA, it is written that an engineering manager should typically have seven years of experience in his basic engineering field to show competencies as engineering manager, I have submitted episodes in which I show 7.5 years as civil engineer working on sites and 5.5 years as engineering manager, a total of 13 years, my question is that if this assesment comes through can I claim 15 points for experience as engineering manager or will I be only able to use 5.5 years of experience? I believe that it's overall experience in the occupation plus the related occupation, please apprise, regards
Well, since you ve already applied, there is nothing much you can do. Besides, your management experience is about 5.5 years, and in my opinion, I dont think EA will consider the non managerial roles. I advise you just keep calm and await the assessment outcome, you dont know if some years may be deducted or added to your already claimed 5.5 years managerial experience. I can't tell and I doubt whether EA will consider the non managerial experience, but who knows.

Just apply as a civil engineer. Inude all your work experience along. Since you have 7.5 years experience as a civil engineer, it should not be a problem.

The answer is NO, but.... If Holy ghost fire really fired people, then we would all be dead. This is because someone, somewhere, somehow had invoked all degrees of holy ghost fire to devour you (yes you reading this) and you are not an exception too. You've asked holy ghost fire to burn your enemies. Everyone has an enemy. Everyone is an enemy to someone. So, we'd all be dead if Holy Ghost fired all the enemies in the world. (Sorry it's long. I haven't commented on any post since morning....I went From church to my house, then straight to the TV ( i watched man utd vs Chelsea game. #GGMU). I went to celebrate our victory with homies. I'm just coming back. Who asked me all this?... No one. I just talk too much.... Okay yeah! You can't talk with your hands. I write too much. So, i'm kinda bored, anyone willing to chat me up? Anyone? Just mention me... Lemme know how your own day went)
This post is filled with so much wisdom. Only illiterates think that some people are specially reserved as enemies. And such illeterates abound in Nigeria. They are many in churches. That your enemy is a friend to someone and you are also an enemy to another person, whether you are aware or not.

Nice one OP. I ve mentioned it before, though there are many unintelligent men and women on this Nairaland. No matter how much you scream no broke guys, they will still be available. The brokeness or richness of the population is largely dependent on the overall economy of the country. Its not like the americans/australians chase broke people away, or they are more hardworking than Nigerians, its their their economy which is better and with a brighter future for men to look up to. Irrespective of what people think, the abundance of broke guys will largely depend on the nation's economic structure and policies. Good one Ontarget
