PoliticsRe: Before We Lost Kwankwaso In Aso Rock. by MeAboki(m): 12:10am On Sep 09, 2014
adconline: It's either you're arithmetically challenged to see the huge difference in number of kids going to school in Kano vs number of kids going to school in Anambra-- or maybe you are a beneficiary of the status quo- deny them education! Niaija has one of the highest child illiteracy rates in the world- all thanks to this type of ur denial.

Let me break down the numbers for dunces like you. The ratio of Kano to Anambra population is 2.3 : 1. So every 2.3 pupils going to school in Kano, Anambra should be sending 1 pupil, but the reverse reverse is the case.

Out of 66k Kano students only 18K got 5 credits and above with a pass rate of 27% while Anambra that registered 52k students, 34k got 5 credits and above with a pass rate of 65%. Makes you wonder if Boko Haram is going away soon?

Education budget: Kano 2014=N20.8bn; Anambra=N7.172bn. Explaining the numbers for dunces again! For every N3 Kano spends on education, Anambra , spends N1 : Ratio: 3 to 1.
Percentage of educational outcome: Kano: 27%; Anambra=65%.. It means that Anambra state is 38% more efficient and productive in training younger ones for university education than Kano with 1/3 of Kano's budget.
My friend, get off your high horse.

Yes, the disparities may be there (as per the figures mentioned) but there are also more to them than meets the eye - and evidently less than apparent to you.

First of all, Kwankwaso is trying to reverse the trend by introducing free education for state indigenes, building several schools through out the state, including a university, also as mentioned sponsoring over 1000 students on scholarship to study abroad (on various courses) - all within 2.5 years of his tenure.

Of course the impact of this human investment would take many years before coming to fruition (a point you would rather ignore); he also introduced other measures, like the law to stop street begging in an effort to curtail truancy.

No, the disproportionate higher budget by Kano compared to Anambra Vs the educational outcome does not necessarily translate to greater efficiency or having less dunces by the latter; as the budgetary differences can easily be explained by the above mentioned activities by the Kano State Governor; while the issue of scholastic performance could also be partially explained by a more sinister reason e.g. exam malpractice in all its ramifications; after all we hear of stories like a whole family numbering up to 40 sharing 1 certificate; while some examples are even more spectacularly prominent - as seen in our current very own first lady, madam peace a.k.a deris God O! grin

Lastly, neither does exam performance equate to intelligence as there are many PhD holders with low I.Q., in fact one them is currently in Aso Rock - shey you understand cool
PoliticsRe: Military Commander Who Recaptured Damboa Transferred Out By Military Chiefs by MeAboki(m): 9:44pm On Sep 08, 2014
Collynzo16: We will side Ihejirika because the allegation against him is absolutely baseless and childish. There are Igbos who have lost family members in suicide bombings, who lost their sources of livelihood in the north and had to start all over again, those Igbos will never support a sponsor of boko haram. Until he is proven guilty, we will all remain solidly behind him as someone who served Nigeria very well.
If you don't like it, hit your head on that wall behind you.
Igbos, united in bigotry: so Ihejirika is innocent until proven guilty but Modu Sheriff is guilty until proven innocent; even though both were jointly f!ngered by a completely neutral detribalised person with nothing to gain by his revelation.

The argument trying to absolve Ihejirika by his kinsmen, on the basis that he lacks motive because he is Igbo and a Christian in view that these groups were victims of Boko Haram, is as insincere as it is myopic - in fact, all groups are victims; majority (and still counting) being by far Muslims and northerners; while the latter are the least affected.

Whereas Modu Sheriff could have been motivated by anything; Ihejirika could only have been motivated by one thing, as clearly pointed out by his accuser: MONEY, MONEY, MONEY - what is so difficult to figure out, after all is he not Igbo? What would Igbo not do for money?

Bunch of mother fvcking hypocrites Mtccheeeww!

BlackTechnology: Yes because he fits the profile after saying that it was the 13% oil derivative that rendered the NE poor causing BH to rise
Sharap! Don't you think that Ihejirika also fits the same profile but for a different reason: MONEY; after all is he not Igbo?
What will Igbo not do for MONEY; including selling or killing his own mother, father or even children - if you doubt that, then pls take a stroll to NL's own Crime section, you wouldn't have to go far before you will find real life examples - there are many of them.

Igbos are simply being hypocritical and tribalistic by coming out en masse trying to protect their kinsman; who unfortunately has been clearly f!ngered by a neutral and therefore more credible source.

Lets see how he would come out and defend himself; though I doubt if anything would come out it, as all the alleged culprits are within the ruling party PDP or close to the President.
PoliticsRe: Olisah Metuh: PDP Accepts Dr. Stephen Davis’ Revelations On Ihejirika by MeAboki(m): 11:33pm On Sep 04, 2014
See as how PDP woefully failed to refute any of the allegations against them by APC or any of their members fingered in Dr Davis revelations by only beating around the bush without making any point at all - shame on them.

PoliticsRe: Ihejirika And Boko Haram by MeAboki(m): 10:29pm On Sep 04, 2014
LOL, see as how Igbo youths are falling all over themselves, spamming NL with so many threads, trying to defend their kinsman, some are demanding for concrete evidence linking their man to Boko Haram; yet same many would gladly accept any story, no matter how unlikely, linking northern leaders like Buhari, El Rufai, Sanusi et al to Boko Haram without any question - what a bunch of hypocrites.

Some are foolishly even questioning the obvious i.e what did the former COAS, Ihejirika, stood to gain for his his alleged involvement; even though the answer had been glaringly provided by his accuser: MONEY - besides, why is it so difficult to guess, isn't he Igbo after all ?

What do you expect when you put a bush man in Aso Rock, see the crude way in which he exposed his ignorance (on a matter of national security, which as the C-I-C, should have been at forefront of his thoughts and of utmost concern); compare that with how someone like Obama would have ensured he was well briefed and therefore on top of his game before hand; unfortunately all our man from Otuoke could do was to draw from his crude creek mentality and utter the words,"Where is Gwoza sef?" SMDH. cry

ISpiksDaTroof: The real enemies of the Ibos are the Ibos themselves.
When you go to someone's home, you obey the rules.
You dont go there exaggerating your worth and insisting you want to start making rules for them too.
Worst of all is that they always seem completely oblivious to the fact that they are even more annoying and irritating when they do that to others than they realise - literally behaving like tenacious parasitic fleas to a dog.

redsun: Kwankwaso should contest for islamic or talibanic state north, not for a rational nigeria. That guy is way too backward mentally to rule normal people. In as much as nigeria is not a normal country, but the southern part still have hope of getting out of the abyss with a bit of miraculous inspirations and steering.
Pls prove in anyway why he should be deemed him backwards - BTW, spare us the usual hearsay or innuendos but facts, plain verifiable facts, if you will pls; or STFU.

meforyou1: Even Japan, who didn't commit up to one-tenth of the war crimes gowon, obasanjo, awolowo and adekunle committed, has apologised for their 2nd world war atrocities. Gowon is just postponing the evil day, because one day he, his children or his grand children must apologise to the igbos for the genocide he committed against us. We are igbos, we never forget. And so we say, never again shall such evil be meted against us without a ten-fold retaliation.

PoliticsRe: Murtala Mohammed's Son, Joins Kano Governorship Race by MeAboki(m): 11:04pm On Aug 20, 2014
KnowAll: I think he grew up in lagos. His mother is Yoruba, I doubt d hausas would take him as one theirs. Someone already said he has a ridiculous accent. huh
Its not about him being mixed blood because Kano voters are more politically matured and liberal than that; in fact two of their past governors (Sabo Bakin zuwo and Ibrahim Shekarau) were not only non state indigenes but also not Hausa, so the issue here is not about tribe; but about connecting and identifying with the ppl.

Yes, you are right, he grew up in Lagos; though the State Government build a house for them (along Ahmadu Bello Way) soon after his father was assassinated; instead the family chose to cut all ties with Kano and remain in Lagos, leaving behind the house uninhabited and derelict for years - in short, they are now complete strangers to Kano and Kano ppl and he consequently does not have a hope in hell of being assimilated or blending with the movers & shakers of Kano politics.

So much for American foreign policy, completely destabilising the Middle East and Islamic Countries trying to impose their so called democracy: Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Somalia, Israel/Palestine; everywhere they go they leave behind death and destruction - how many lives being lost daily and still counting due to their interference?
The Libyans got what they deserved, they are paying and will continue paying for Ghaddafi's blood; let this be a lesson to those who still believe and continue to worship the Americans.

AMvanquish: It would be hard for him>> Dude doesn't even have any visibility in Kano... But kano politics is always full of surprises..
He is a no hoper in this race, the dude never lived in Kano let alone develop any real connection with the ppl; in fact he can hardly speak Hausa and what he can muster comes out with a ridiculously bad accent.

I doubt if his political backers did any research, its no brainer their speculation is based on theory only and not on the reality on the ground because evidently they have grossly miscalculated, their money is as good as wasted; unless they have a hidden agenda, e.g. throwing him in with the pack as a spoiler, to divide and spoil a targeted opposition's votes.

In fact, Abacha's son has a much better chance than him; but all of them are currently dwarfed by Kwankwaso's Kwankwasiyya's brand of APC politics - no one can touch APC in Kano, thats a fact.

Probably when airlines begin to apply for licences to ply the Dutse route you may also want to support the idea of diverting them to Enugu airport as your former aviation minister, Stella Oduoh, tried to do with Emirates Air and Ethiopia Air from the Kano route.

For the benefit of doubt, maybe you didn't understand; what they said was that it was illegal (against the law) to start electioneering (campaigning) before the ongoing ban is officially lifted by INEC - now that you may have understood, pls point out what was wrong with that; yes, they also added that it was insensitive given the ongoing security challenges of disease and insurgency.
