seunmsg: The question is not about structure but about the sense in ensuring school children have the proper nutrition on daily basis. Your twitter senator criticised the proposal and in turn suggested that all we need to do is pay teachers promptly. That is just silly if you ask me.
We need knowledgeable and well paid teachers, good structures like you suggested and well nourished school children. A hungry or malnourished child can never learn well no matter the structures put in place and that's why all reasonable people should support the feeding program of the government and not criticise it just for criticising sake like Ben Bruce is doing. was shaking my head for your last post and you still wrote another one chaii!! |
Politics › Re: Ben-Bruce: Give Students Biscuit & Don't Pay Workers, Get Biscuit Illiterates by meccuno: 2:01pm On Feb 10, 2016 |
seunmsg: Illiterate senator talking rubbish and thinking he's making common sense. He just goes about criticising everything just for the sake of criticising.
Primary education and paying schools teachers is strictly the responsibilities of state and local governments. Federal government is only supporting the efforts of the state government with the feeding program by ensuring school children are properly fed before classes. Students will never learn well when they are hungry so, there is nothing bad in federal governments plan.
Paying teachers promptly is good but not the major solution to the problem in the education sector. Most of the primary school teachers in rural states are not even qualified to teach and like the saying goes, 'you can't give what you don't have'. We saw the reactions of teachers in Ekiti and Edo state when the government wanted to administer competency test on them, they revolted and even voted out the Fayemi government in Ekiti and Edo state had to cancel the plan. What we should do now is for states to sieve the list of their teachers, sack the poor ones, invest massively in training the good ones and bring in fresh graduates just like the federal government is proposing with its plan to employ 500,000 teachers. in your mind you just made sense? You think its by writing long and meaningless post? Wake up dude!! |

How can a right-thinking person suggest that Yorubas outnumber Igbos in northern Nigeria?
Are we talking of Kano metropolis alone with an estimated population of over three million Igbos or what do we say of Zaria, Kaduna and even Katsina?
Why are you guys making fools of yourselves arguing blindly for the sake of argument?

Politics › Re: North Will Never Discover Oil In Chad Basin – Shehu Sani by meccuno: 11:47pm On Feb 08, 2016 |
chuksoyo21: KADUNA – The north will never discover oil in the Chad basin of Nigeria even after it has wasted $3 billion, approximately (N900 billion) in oil exploration in the basin, said Senator Shehu Sani, Chairman, Senate Committee on foreign and domestic debts.
Sani, made the above affirmation Monday when members of Kaduna State Students Union paid him a courtesy call in his Kaduna office.
This in variance with the position of the Chairman, of the Northern Nigeria Development Company, (NNDC) Alhaji Bashir Dalhatu, who had said last year NNDC would commence the exploration of oil and gas in the said basin and the upper Benue trough.
Said Sani: “Oil exploration in the north has been carried out back to days far beyond that of former President Jonathan Goodluck.
I am calling on President Mohamadu Buhari to order a probe into this questionable search for oil. Past leaders have amassed wealth through this venture, and I want the president to investigate this.
“If we cannot fine oil, we must get our money back because so far over $3 billion US Dollars had been wasted on oil exploration in the north, particularly in the Chad Basin and Benue trough.

nigerianvenom: https://www.thecable.ng/sanusi-buharis-fx-policy-encourages-corruption No matter how hard the president tries, Nigeria would never prosper under an atmosphere of tribalism and religious bigotry. Corruption in the civil service started in the time of murtala and flourished during the IBB era. We would continue to play the ostrich and avoid those things that we need to do to make this country a better place. A lot of sacrifices has to be made. The right people have to be elected, the populace has to be educated by "force", even if it means to secondary school level so we do not have a population that needs "Nepa Bill" as a means of showing education!! Most times it disgust me how dis united we are but still want an indivisible country and refuse to do what's right. Let's be sincere with our selves, we need to go back to federalism. So that we develop at a reasonable pace. Those who want to lag behind is up to them. How can we have minerals and still be poor as a nation?? No nation succeeds without qualified people being in the helms of affairs..in a sane society, most leaders we produce would not even be there but for tribalism |
