Liberty90: I said this last year...quote below!
BREAKING: 5 Deputy Comptroller-Generals Of Customs Resign
Why won't they resign? You bypassed them because you know that the next in line to take over by seniority was DCG Nwosu...you panicked, "he is Igbo and he can't be in such a position." Instead you went as far as...fear of Igbo... bringing a Northern geriatric retired army general, an outsider...something never done before... to make sure an Igbo man doesn't clinch that seat. THIS COUNTRY IS IMPLACABLY EVIL AND GOD IS ANGRY; INTENSELY ANGRY. The plan is to now assemble new DCGs with a northerner as senior to take over from the Geriatric general...he will resign within a yr or two to pave way for the prospective senior northerner DCG; you want to bet? All these while, I have been wondering why an outsider was brought in...not a DCG as customary procedure until a custom officer friend relayed me the gist of the inner politics. Is it a coincidence that 99% of all past comptroller general of customs are of Northern extraction?

Guess barbarism and savagery exist close by. These people need a 100 years worth of educational cleansing and cultural re-orientation. james078: Breaking: Police teargas Students, arrests NANS president for protesting unilateral sack of 13 VCs Education News Politics Top Storiesabout 1 hour ago
The National President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Tijani Usman was Thursday arrested by security operatives after leading a protest to challenge the unconventional sack of 13 university Vice Chancellors and their unilateral replacement by the President Muhammadu Buhari administration. Only nine of the 13 had exhausted their tenures. The security agency which descended violently on protesters and journalists arrested Usman while leading a blockade of the entrance of the Federal Ministry of Education. They were sitting at the entrance of the ministry when policemen began to teargas them. The students who described the sack and replacement as illegal called for the reversal of the developments. The Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu told reporters thereafter that no decision of the government will be reversed because somebody somewhere feels aggrieved. “Some have made presentations and reservations and they are being looked at,” he said. On Wednesday, Civil rights organisations shut down the entrance of the National Assembly and Ministry of Education in Abuja where they submitted petitions asking Buhari to rescind the sack. The protesters described the sack as illegal. Chairman of the coalition, Bassey Williams Etuk, called on President Muhammdu Buhari to relieve the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, of his appointment “because he knows nothing”. According to Etuk, the sacking of the VCs and their replacement with people mostly from the North violated the federal character principles. One of their placards reads: “Six Professors were taken from Bayero University, Kano as replacement… Haba! Why?” They chanted solidarity songs, including: Adamu must go, reinstate the sacked VCs now and Nigeria needs a better administrator in the Education Ministry.” A petition to the President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, was received on their behalf by the National Assembly Deputy Sergeant-At-Arms, Dennis Maaji. The group gave the Minister 48 hours to reverse the sack and resign his appointment “because he doesn’t seem to understand the working of University system and administration”. Etuk said the coalition would be heading to court to stop the sack as the tenure of five of the sacked VCs were yet to expire. The protesters also barricaded the Federal Ministry of Education located at the Federal Secretariat, Abuja. Etuk said: “The minister does not have any right to call for the sack of 13 Vice Chancellors. “Nine of the 13 sacked Vice Chancellors, their tenure was to expire this last Monday. “But four, their tenure is still running. “Some have two years, some have one year and six months. “What he did, which is most disrespectful to the laws of the land, is that he appointed six people, his friends, from one university. “He appointed six professors from one university, Bayero University, Kano, and he posted them to different tertiary institutions. “Not only that, he also appointed two professors from Katsina State, making it eight friends from the just two states in North. “We came here to tell him that Nigeria is not a sectional country. “We are one indivisible Nigeria, nobody should separate us. “Nobody should play sentiments with our economy and education sectors. “The academic community has been here even before the minister was born. “He cannot come and change it. “Our appeal to him is to honourably reverse the decision “Let’s agree with him that what he did was wrong, that he did it in a haste. “We are here to tell him that he should please reserve that decision within 48 hours with immediate effects. “If does not do that under 48 hours, we will call for his resignation.” Etuk said the coalition would be heading to court to stop the sack as the tenure of five of the sacked VCs http://nigeriantimes.ng/news/breaking-police-teargas-students-arrests-nans-president-for-protesting-unilateral-sack-of-13-vcs/ we were never meant to be a country or nation!! huptin: With all due respect sir, Obasanjo was corrupt, but he met just about $5bn in the forex reserves, with a national debt of over $38bn, but by the time he left the scene, he had paid off the debts and left about $45bn in foreign reserve and and $22bn dollars in excess crude account and guess what? The highest oil price during his tenure was just $75 with the Niger Delta crisis.
Now compare him with GEJ, he met a relatively bouyant economy, with good foreign reserves and almost all debts paid, oil was selling at $147 with the Nigerdelta crisis almost non existent, he left about $2bn in excess crude account and increased the nation,s debt, foreign reserve was down to about $30bn with pretty little to show.
If you consider the above scenarios very well, you will understand why the Yoruba's voted him out. Every Ex Nigerian head of state had been corrupt but some learnt to chop and remain, in Gej,s case, he pretty much ate the nation to the ground. In fact his finance minister had to borrow money to pay march and April 2015 salaries. with all due respect sir, a thief is a thief!! There are no special thieves.....if you steal, you go to jail.....no body is above the law!! |

huptin: Well you might call it what you wish' but the children of Oduduwa realized that the English had a more sophisticated technology to theirs and instead of stubbornly resisting them, they welcomed them with the intention of benefiting from the relationship. Perhaps that's what made Lagos to be a thousand years ahead of other states, as for southern solidarity, you people should have considered that' when Yoruba's went on the streets of Abuja to protest against the cabal holding GEJ hostage and eventually helping to install him albeit illegally as the president and when this same Yoruba's massively voted him in 2011 despite the fact that a Yoruba man was the vice presidential candidate to Buhari, yet at a point no Yoruba man was considered good enough by GEj to be in top 25 positions of his cabinet, if GEJ had really performed well may be the Yoruba's would not have minded' but here was someone who met billions of dollars in saving with oil selling above $100, yet he could save or invest in critical infrastructure, yet u want Yoruba to vote for him because of southern solidarity' no sir we don't roll like that, every relationship should be symbiotic. lagos state is not 1000 years ahead of other states.....lagos benefited from its access to the sea which made the british to make it an entity on its own because the british lay very high premium on areas closest to the sea......abuja is an example of what oil money can do to a state!! If abuja had access to the sea, it would have over taken lagos as the best in Nigeria........lastly, taken down Gej had nothing to do with corruption but tribalism......they believed he didn't serve the interest of the yorubas that's all.....if they where so moraly upright, why did the yorubas not take out Obasanjo when we all know that he had a very corrupt government?? |
Politics › Re: Why Yoruba Prefer Alliance With North – Adefuye by meccuno: 3:50pm On Feb 14, 2016 |
babyfaceafrica: His comment if true is not welcomed at this time...that said, that his his opinion.in my humble opinion I belive yorubas will work with anyone, that is why it is only yoruba in the three major regions that has the highest number of inter-regional marriages and where did you get that analysis from? Atiku married and igbo woman, babangida too,p square married yoruba, even your actor desmond elliot has igbo blood.!! I have friends who are yoruba and married igbo......even yemi alades mum is igbo!! Gowon had an igbo wife, sound sultan married igbo......I just stated this facts for you to know how many igbos that cut across divide to marry from different tribes!! Yorubas do not supersede the igbos in this!! On my street presently I have an igbo woman marrying a yoruba......igbos are more liberal in that aspect..... |
