PoliticsRe: Escapee Prisoner Writes Obaseki, Explains Why He Won't Return by meetme01: 12:52pm On Oct 24, 2020
Excerpts

I didn’t believe at first, because I have given up hope of outside life. But when I saw men breaking through that 5 inches hollow block fence, that Nigeria contractors deceived Government was strong to keep us inside, humbled and pliant, I moved. I joined to escaped, amidst hail of bullets, that sounded like Christmas knockouts to me.

“I quickly threw down my blue prisoners uniform, and jubilantly joined the welcoming crowd on Airport Road. I was not too sure, if this was trap, so I ran towards Omoma Street, off Oko Central Road and stole a bed sheet, by the side of a quiet bungalow, with the owners too embarrassed to shout.

“I moved further down the road and seized some fairly used shirts and a jean trouser from a horrified Igbo trader by Gapiona Street. I then ran towards Ugbor Road, GRA, fully dressed in my new well packaged clothes. With no phone or money, and not too certain of the reception my evil stepmother will provide, I decided to head to Aduwawa.

“At the corner of Anglican Girls Grammar School, I saw a fashion shop, with a woman, seriously busy with a scissor and a tape stripped round her neck. I walked in and demanded money. As she attempted to argue, I made a fake attempt to pull out a gun. That was all I needed to convince her, and she handed me 29 thousand naira. A lot of money for a fugitive”, he narrated.
Nairaland GeneralRe: Re: Immigrate To Canada Through AIPP Part 1 by meetme01: 12:44pm On Oct 24, 2020
Opeyemi6409:
My whats app number 08057076409. Please add me to AIPP whats app group. Thanks in advance

Thanks for the best wishes.

It took me solid 4 months of persistence reading and exploring of different companies websites using the approved list of designated employers under the AIPP stream. At some point, I got discouraged as most of the companies I contacted vehemently said they weren't aware of the immigration program called - AIPP.... This kept me puzzling and wondering how will they not know about the Atlantic program. Meanwhile, their companies names were boldly published among the designated employers on the list of the Atlantic program to hire foreign employees. I knew what I wanted so I relentlessly kept on pushing without hesitation. I sought advices from some of the experienced Indians guys on the WhatsApp group I belonged to as of then, they gave me tips on how to contact employers in the Altantic region and shared me some of their cover letters during their hunt for job offers. Having implemented all the tips and tricks as advised, all attempts proved abortive as majority of the employers I contacted were looking for employees with work permit within Canada. cry

The quest for job offer continued, afterwhich I decided to build up my LinkedIn account and subscribing to the premium package which will give me visibility for any job vacancies within my qualifying NOC. It was very quite fortunate for me to see one of the approved companies under AIPP and their advertisement for Vacancy for over two months. shocked A thought came to my mind and i resolved to give it a shot and see if things turns out fine for me.... To be honest, its was a mere trial!. I didn't even invest so much hope that I'll secure the job. After all, I have been getting several rejection response/mails from companies in Canada all this while, therefore it's no longer a new thing to me. I braced up and contacted the company via their LinkedIn page as well as explaining to them about my sincere interest in working for the company and filling up their labour shortage. Luckily, the company replied my message after a week and requested that I should email them a copy of my resume and a cover letter which will detail about my vast working experiences in my qualifying NOC and why I am a good fit for the job/position in their company as well as the possible contributions I'll bring to the team that will yield high productivity for the company etc...

Fast forward, I did as the company requested and forwarded them my details. I got assistance from an indian guy who carefully took his time to review my resume, cover letter and reconstructed the mail I used. Within 3 business days, the company acknowledged the receipt of my documents, reviewed them and sent me an email regarding an interview.

My interview was conducted via Skype on the 21st of December, 2018. The manager of the company asked me questions about my experience and how long I have worked in that field and what is my current employment in my country of residence. Do I have my IELTS and ECA ready? Of which I sincerely told him that I don't have any yet but will get it done as soon as I have successfully secured the job offer. The manager is a jovial and very nice person. I must say he is very understandable and he said "That's okay, but you must have it so we can file for your Permanent Residence Application".... I replied with a calm voice "Sure I will".

At the end of the interview, the manager congratulated me with a smile on his face that I'm now a member/employee of the organization, that i should expect further correspondence from them which entails a signed job contract and supporting documentation regarding my employment via email. That I should endeavor to sign those forms and send it back to them ASAP, so they could begin my application for settlement plan, after which they will proceed with my provincial Endorsement and subsequently my Permanent Residence application to Canada. shocked shocked. My whole body was shivering... then I began to ask myself, could this be true or am i dreaming?. grin. This was one of the happiest day of my life meanwhile my PR will be the best of all. grin..... The waiting is not an easy one but I believe everything will work out in due time and I'll receive a PPR in few months to come grin

I hope my story stands to inspire and motive you all. My advice is that you should keep on pushing and never relent. Someday you will definitely find your dream employer and they will accept your application with open arms.

Keep faith, trust the process and always be optimistic.

I wish you all the very best.
It surely will. Can you kindly share the sample of the cover letter and CV. It will go along way in my process. Presently sending mails to coys in SK and ON. Thanks in advance.

It will end in praise

Politicians down there have brainwashed the youths to the extent of depriving them quality education.

Education is key..!!!

To those accusing northerners of being silent in the whole #EndSars saga, pls you peole should know that SARS had never been our problem at this end. Droves of us don’t even know of their existence before now, and thankfully we never will.

It is indeed not our problem so why should we protest?

In a breath, we in the North wouldn’t mind switching SARS with BH with the south and see who will survive torment.

Why should we protest with you? Pls give me one reason.

And since the coming of this administration that BH were reduced to attacking parts of the northeast, has anyone from the south even prayed for our survival talk less of protesting?

Absolute nonsense...
Thank you for your submission.

Apologies for my digression. Please, what's your take on Nigeria's democracy putting into consideration high cost of governance with a focus on the National Assembly which has a large chunk of the budget to a few.

Asset burning can never be justified. However, the handwriting has been on the wall for many years. Several wanings were ignored. Nigeria was already sitting on a gunpowder. We all know.

What, when and how it will ignite nobody knows

The aftermath is what we are seeing.

Our leaders are not concerned about the downtrodden. They give peanuts.. Npower, street sweeping, Ubec jobs etc while their own kids occupy NNPC, CBN etc.

Are we all not citizens of these country?

Folks, poverty & unemployment na bad tin oo.

If I am to start all over again, this is what I will do.

When I stumbled this page, i went back to the first page and read every single page (albeit 512 pages back then) like my life depends on it.

After that, I wasn't satisfied so I enrolled for the training, to be honest, I felt like a big fish in a swan during the training session.

The reason is because the thread is full of real life questions and great insights from different veterans in domain name business which are not and cannot be covered in a single training.

Since then, I understood a cliche which say "Most valuable information are within the reach and are almost FREE but always seems worthless to lots of people" .
The bolded says it all.

It's a good one but with the training, if you don't read, you'll be back to square one. Paying for the class is not waste of money. You will be free to ask questions and also submit names for review.

You need to understand something. Domaining is not quick cash hustle. Don't let all those sales report make you anxious. If you hear some stories, you will back out. If you can't be patient, don't venture.

You might be lucky to have a quick sale but that's not the target. The aim is to have a portfolio that anytime, anyday, and anywhere you will be able to read Simon's email and smile.

I implore you to read and take a risk of one or two domains. Ask questions here. Practice what you have learnt and if you still feel you need a class, proceed. All the best.

Can we contribute to fix Sango - Lagos road?

Can we contribute to fix Ife-Ibadan expressway?

Can each state, give a road to fix and we contribute?

Can we contribute to fix standard police stations with adequate gadgets?

Can we contribute to fix our education system?

We can fix Nigeria with our widows might.

We can fix Nigeria with our own self style tax

Where is Mr President.?

I believe VP Osibanjo is apologizing in his own personal capacity and as a father. We really appreciate his sincere apologies and concern.

However, this would have been much better if it was done Mr President on live TV while also taking some drastic actions by sacking the IG.

To him, it's impossible due to wrong advice. If Mr President does not heed to warnings and writings on the wall, this protest as envisaged and prophesied will lead to the unexpected. REVOLUTION.

If he was accepted to the rally, the focus would change and govt may use force which might lead to extra judicial killing and clamping down on posters with DSS or Army.

It was done to avoid any political undertone. He would use the platform to push for revolution which would actually come as the protest persist. You can see the government is finding it hard to pitch the protest to anyone. NO LEADER protest. That's the consensus and awesome strategy.

If Sowore is disgruntled, he should understand what the protest is all about and respect the views of the youth.

the proper way to take advantage is to have atleast 50 percent of the reguirement of which cac number is paramount

while the government gave most people covid 19 loans about 450k even for those with cac number

I got 1.2 and many people got more

there is more to do to get something higher....you are choosing to go lesser and even for this one

you may not get anything...if you dont have any form of training from a government approved institute

having a training only gives you loan to tone of 250 k for the youth investment funds

having a cac number increase it to 3 million....tell me which is better

PoliticsRe: #ENDSARS Thing Is A Clear Foolishness by meetme01: 8:24am On Oct 11, 2020
MXD5050:
You see how poor reasoning have affect you, you think ending SARS would put an end to the killing of innocent Nigerian by security men? How many times have you protested for endsars or police reform. Well go get some reasoning first before you jump on issues
The police is an institution of the government saddled with the responsibility to protect lifes and properties of Nigerians and not few Nigerians. The police in its wisdom due to abuse of power by some police officers decided to create SARS and other relative agencies in the police force. SARS has been in existence since 1992 and saddled with curbing of robbery situations. Special Anti Robbery Squad, as the the name connotes, that is there specific job. Nothing more than that.

Must I protest every time my right is violated. If yes, it has been done severally. When Kolade Johnson was killed, there was a protest. When Kazeem, the Remo Stars player was killed, there was a prostest. What did the government do? The gave orders fo reform, was it respected? NO

Now, you can see the protest live. You are wondering why this is going on. I have not lost any family member to this happy trigger policemen and never been accosted by them because I obey the law but am I better than those being accosted, killed, framed and thrown into cell? NO, they also respect the law but probably due to fate, looks and dressing, they got issues with them. Is that a good reason to kill someone.? Not at all.

It may be me,mu family member or friend. Should I wait till it happens when I see it is a rampant issue going on? NO. Let's fight this together till the government understands why why we are agitating.

If orders given by the President has been respected, we won't be where we are today.

In a nutshell, anyone can beba victim including you or your family or friends. To avoid this, lets face the government and tell them to scrap SARs. By Scrapping, it would be reformed with new officers properly trained and given a new name. That's just it. We are Nigerians, we should be able to demand for our right

We cannot fight or seek for better governance if the trigger happy policemen are on the street to cut our life short.
