Politics / Re: Troops Neutralize Female Suicide Bomber - (Graphic Pics) by megadeath: 8:19am On Sep 12, 2016
Before we hurry to castigate this dead soul, let us remember that she most likely did not decide to be a suicide bomber out of her free will. She was either brainwashed or threatened......could happen to anybody. May God forgive her sins.

It's an "Exercise" not an "Operation".

If this snake had been caught alive or even tracked and studied,it would have fetched 100x the amount it was sold for.
In other places, rare sizes of snakes like this would be a subject of wide interest and studies by snake experts who would even come from far and wide, earning us much needed foreign exchange.
But here,it has ended in somebody's pot of soup and a mere N10k when it cud have fetched good dollars.

You're slightly silly.

In as much as your apologies are in order, I sense a subtle plea from you for members of the public to accept and bear these barbaric actions of your fellow Uniformed beasts, you also failed to clearly condemn the animalistic actions of your comrades.
Well, you're just a little bit more sensible than the young Uniformed beasts, but animals is what you all are.

cheesy
yep. Hide behind your computer and insult, little man. If it makes u feel good

I wish everyone who commented above can read my comment. Please forgive these young ones for they know not what they are doing. If you notice, these are all first termers. This is their first break since entering the NDA. During the 3 months prior to this break, we go through a phase designed to instil confidence. This is a result of that confidence (the negative part) and youthful exuberance. All of us did dis in our first year but believe me 80 percent of us, after the first year always felt ashamed Weneva we remembered the shenanigans of the first year. Please note that if you stand up to this young men and refuse the mostly dumb orders, NOTHING will happen. They'll look at you as a civilian that has confidence in himself too. Once again, I apologise on behalf of my comrades. They will learn. Stop relating this to the rest of us fighting insurgents in the NE. We welcome constructive criticism. No need to insult or belittle our efforts in fighting terror. We are the only thing standing between you and the terrorists

Ok. We don hear. RIP abi?

If officer die, we go hear. If other rank/lower ranked ordinary soldiers (the ones who take the orders and actually do the fighting) die, we no go even hear echo of the news.

Are officers' lives more important than those of lower ranks?

RIP abeg to all the Privates, Corporals and Sergeants who sacrificed their lives for Nigeria yet no one cares!
.

Stop displaying ignorance. What do you know? Even Lieutenant Colonels are involved in the fight. You think soldiers go into battle without an officer as their platoon commander leading? This officer is my subordinate in the army and one of the most rugged lieutenants I ever came across. Just that I can't share the details of how he died here, you'd have taken your words back. Other ranks pics not flying round is a social factor that has to do with level of exposure and not the fact that no one recognizes their efforts.

Politics / Re: COAS: Nigerian Army Will Be Reorganized by megadeath: 7:00am On Aug 23, 2014
It no longer disturbs me when I see people here badmouthing the army;rather it amuses me. Just the other day, I was reading on a thread a comment by a person lacking in basic common sense who was saying that "nearly, if not all of the products of the Nigerian Defence Academy are offrs who are not worth their salt because they come from privileged backgrounds and are not ready to die for the country". I marvelled at the stupidity. I am an officer of the Nigerian Army and a proud Regular Combatant product of the NDA. I also come from a very kpako background as do most of my cosmates. I know for sure we are not trained to die for our country but to kill for our country. I think we have been doing a good job of it. Is it our fault that corruption is in the Armed Forces and is severely hampering our output? Last time I checked, corruption was in every facet of the Nigerian economy.

So please, when you really feel you want to vent your anger on the counter terrorism effort of the NA, channel your insults towards the right direction and not towards my colleagues who are the only thing standing between you and the terrorists. When you've lost people that have been your friends for over 9 years to the bullets of the enemy, you feel bad when you come here to see trash being spewed out by ignorant people just because it makes you feel a sort of adrenalin rush to sit in the comfort of your homes and say crap about people in the frontlines.

Career / Re: Ask Me Questions About Careers In The Military by megadeath: 6:20am On Dec 24, 2013
Dear OP. Nice write up but you made some factual errors here. Many can be ignored though. Let me quickly say the duration for Regular Combatant training is 5 years as opposed to the 4 years u said and that of Short Service training is 9 months and noot 6 months.

Also you said a short service officer, finishes his training and is granted a full Lieutenant rank. That is not true. Both Regular combatants and Short Service combatant are granted the second lieutenant commissions with different ante-date on rank. It is the Direct short service commission for professionals such as doctors and lawyers that grants you a full Lieutenant rank immediately on commission.

You made quite some more mistakes. Please enquire better before posting. Cheers

Politics / Re: Females Top Table Of Military Recruits by megadeath: 10:43am On Nov 14, 2013
lordhugo: More females in the officer's cadre via direct service is due to the fact that females are needed for jobs in nursing, education and other areas of life where females generally excel.....

WHY ARE THERE NO FEMALES IN THE REGULAR NDA RECRUITS?
Obviously, you are not informed. There are currently 3 Regular Combatant Courses in the NDA with female Cadets.

femmyb: Calling the Nigerian army a joke is an understatement, more like a ragtag militia than a real modern army, a so called general in the Nigerian army is equivalent to a captain in the US army or marine corps.

50calibre: Nigerian army is a joke, almost anyone can become a General, once you have the right connections.

What are the credentials of these guys mentioned here, what qualified them to be Generals, Nigerian army dish out high ranks like its sandwich.

To be a general you should be experienced, rounded, disciplined, physically fit, mature, and be a master tactician, these guys are nothing but mushroom Generals.
you'll just come on Nl and be saying nonsense. Do you know any of those Generals? Go and enquire about Generals Mongonu and onwuamaegbu on that list. Mscheeeeew

Bro, 3 of my cosmates in the Airforce were selected as the pioneer students of this project. I know all about this. They are trained in both NAF Base Kaduna and Benin. No nairalander built this. Those planes were bought.

I'm all for female empowerment o!, don't get me wrong but the truth is that the standard of training in our father's academy has fallen drastically due to the entrance of females into the Regular Combatant Cadre. I strongly believe that is a wrong move. The females can continue being taken as Short Service Combatants and Direct Short Service, but not the Regulars. The nearest future will vindicate me. All the beautiful wicked things that made the Regular Combatant cadets stand out have been scrapped because of the entrance of these gals. Everyday, I and my coursemates thank God we passed out before this travesty happened. I knw peeps will read this and call me misogynistic or chauvinistic.....the truth is that "who no go no go know"....we don't need Regular Combatant females.
