thesilentone: How can you make such an 'outlandish' statement when I have read here that the share price is heading to the moon once the 'weak' investors have been shaken out. The shake out they have been doing for past 7ys. Incase you don't know Guiness Nig took a high interest loan of $95m loan from the parents coy Diegeo in 2016 and have been servicing it at the expense of their minority shareholders. As it stands now Nigerian Breweries at N50 is better than Guinness at N10 |

CashDiMkpa: Q2' 2020 interim dividends have now been declared in full and payment is being awaited. Its not over yet though. A few companies declare interim dividend when releasing their Q3 reports so more is likely to be announced next month. These include
- Nestle - Seplat - Nigerian Breweries - Total (sometimes) - Okomu Oil (Sometimes)
NB and Total may skip this year but the other 3 may still declare. Guinness management should better beg Nigerian Breweries for bailout if not delistment is knocking on their door. Their share has lost over 95% in value from 2013 to 2020. It dropped from N300 to N13 while their market cap depleted from N450B down to a paltry N30B By the time you deduct their N23B debt you will see they are now a carcass. Note: The competitive environment has swallowed both Guinness and international Brewery. |

Biafran4life: How funny people could sound. They have refused to have stock trading as one part of their hustle. They came into nse thinking it is naira bet.You have never seen them make informed analysis on nse.All the noise they make now is all about some other countries exchange with their change that made no difference in nse. They equally want to drive traffic to another thread where they contribute nothing with different monikers..They are quick to list companies that are not doing well but forgot to mention the likes of NB that I bought at #22.Bros let it be known ,nse is not for get rich quick people. All I can tell any new comer Stick with companies that have been paying dividend and at the long run you will not regret.I have been in the game for over 20yrs so I am speaking from experience You meant based on your experience you waited for over 20yrs to buy NB at it all time low of N22 Bros fear God naa |

Foreign Portfolio Investment, FPI, inflow to the Nigerian economy has recorded massive decline in the first seven months of 2020 (January-July) amidst growing negative macroeconomic numbers. FPI mirrors the confidence level of foreign investors in the economy. The investments are made in the stocks of leading companies in the Nigerian Stock Exchange, NSE. https://www.nairaland.com/6088070/more-foreign-investors-leave-fpi#93414971 |

BARGAIN HUNTERS TAKE NOTE! All NSE market cap is not even up to 1% of APPLE market cap so I will you sell and leave this dead NSE market that has become a burial ground once and for all. thank me later. |

Ojoboak: Kindly explain why NSE is a burial ground? NSE is not involved in day to day activities of this companies but people transact trade based on performance data or information coming from this companies. If a company is doing well despite the challenges in the market, it receives kudos in share price appreciation. If it is not doing well, market responded with drop in its share prices. So let go NSE in the predicament of these companies. With all the good result Zenithbk and GTB has been churning out all this this yrs what are their price today? We all know in NSE the regulators (SEC. NSE.and coy MGTS are only after their pockets while the minority shareholders funds keep depleting. thats why coys like uacn. oando..guiness are were allowed to raise money few yrs ago and still have nothing to show for it. In a sane country about 90% of coys listed in NSE ought to be delisted by now. |

emmanuelewumi: That is one of the problems of investing in the real sector and importance of diversifying your investments, you don't invest and sleep, you monitor your Investments every quarter.
Looking at the dividends , bonuses, capital appreciation earned over the years the following business have beaten inflation in the last 17 years, Nestle, First bank, Access Bank, Nigeria brewery, Flour Mills, GSK, Zenith bank, GTB, Okomu Oil, Presco, UBA, Custodian and Allied,Vita foam, and many more.
An investor should be able to identify a bubble, we have them in real estate, stock market and in business.
A stock of N30 that earned less than N1 is a bubble, 2006 and 2007 was a year of bubbles when people threw cautions to the wind
. Intelligent Investors switched to fixed income Investments during this period and switched back to equities to cherry pick when normalcy returned.
Few days ago, I talked about the bubble that is building up in Tesla You said the aforementioned stocks has been beaten inflation in the past 17ys? I have been into importation of electronics since 2001 and I can categorically tell you 17yrs ago US Dollar was selling at circa N100 whiie now exchange rate is circa N500. If you discount forex rate you will see that those investing in NSE are simply doing blind business and getting poorer without knowing it. |

emmanuelewumi: We invest in the real sector by
1. Starting a business 2. Investing in debts of players in the real sector 3. Becoming a part owner, through equity investment..
Most people talking about investing in the real sector only know about number 1
An investor who invested N1 million in Okomu Oil a company in the Agricultural sector about 15 years ago, has his Investments grown to over N36 million and received dividends of N10 million in the last 5 years. Can we say that person is not investing in the real sector.
Some Investors have realized that there is no point reinventing the wheels What of an investor who invested 1million 15yrs ago in Firstbank. Nigerian breweries. UAcn. PZ. Wapco flourmill. Guiness. Uac Property. Oando. Cadbury nahco. GSK. African Petroleum to mention but few? Or you intentionally like picking the very best performing stocks to paint how lucrative the Nigeria Stock market is whereas it has turn millions of people to paupers |
