A lot of Nigerians too, till today, do not know security belongs to the people of the grassroots, the way you too feel it is the duty of the federal government. For instance, government cannot help you to lock your house door when you leave it opened upon going out. Government can only send police after a suspected burglar is reported to government law enforcement agencies.

The only thing I noticed was that GEJ was dull in defense of his government. He was an accidental president, bad in opposition and didn’t know insecurity then was a weapon used to taint his government. Nigeria is not ripe or ready for all these BVAS, Synchronization, Server etc. We don’t like spending big on something like this to make it credible, better or best for the result we want. We just do the bear minimum and think we have done something.

When you are not sending data to Mars, why will it take days for data synchronization? I agree it may take 24 hours for some data due to location of the server, but a lot of INEC staff and consultants don’t really have deeper knowledge of how the machines work. I doubt if they know how to test and debug errors and do proper configurations of those machines to have proper handshake with the server.

We can also not rule out hacking in this regard. Someone could have tampered with something.

I guess the parties in that case could need the help of cybersecurity experts to probe INEC servers and see whether someone has come in through the back doors.
