SassyTee:It also sends a message that boys in khaki can always topple a government and do as they like, or preside over a military junta illegally, and still be praised on the scale of MOSES himself in their old age as Presido aka OBJ and now GMB. Thanks to IBB, ABACHA, and the likes that made this possible for us on Dec 1983 and BEYOND What were we thinking clamoring for Democracy and the likes of Abiola when we were going to bring back the military boys anyway FOOLISHNESS |
Isn't it interesting that these Western corporations are all quick to praise the selection, I mean election. I have not seen where a former coup plotter in the developed world is praised in modern times as if the oil has now officially been handed over to these corporate folks |
psucc:That is it. OBJ comes in 1999 (which that too was unfortunate) then all of a sudden SHARIA or DIE, then GEJ comes in, the BOKO HARAM or DIE. So militancy is effective in Africa. |
chukwudi44:Frankly, even many Yorubas don't know who he is, even Buhari couldn't remember who he was during those "rally" events MayorofLagos:This is the realest post on Nairaland this week (even though I too mentioned it). Igbo people and their kins in the "Niger-Delta" for some reason refuse to accept that MayorofLagos:Yes, Igbo are from 40-50 percent, but it is not there papa land. Instead of developing the East, they still go to the North and west. But there are Yoruba who also do it. Funny enough, 2 Igbo folks will be representing Lagos in the HOUSE i hear. MayorofLagos:I think in the past, there has been a lot of mistrust (Chiefly because of the controversial positions taken by some Yoruba and Middle Belt Xtians) against the East, but a lot of progress had been made...until its time for election. In 2011 there was no reason for Yoruba to vote against GEJ, that would have totally been obviously foolish because the game was only at half-time then, but surely during injury time Tinubu substituted Amaechi and Rochas for Buhari and Osinbjjjo, and the Mallam referee awarded them penalty kick... |
In two months he will begin or two months they will sidon talk? Nothing about within 2 months. Remember in a similar interview posted on 9raland, he responded "hit them with what" lol |
Funny enough those who are claiming OBJ was better must have forgotten he wanted to go for a third term, only to be stopped by the Legislature led by Ken Nnamani. Buhari has "won", even though he has no record of achieving anything other than the very vague stories in history books from his brief tenure as DICTATOR. His VP, nothing as well. This reminds me the Israelites who after leaving Pagan Egypt , began to worship a pagan god immediately without thinking of where they had just come from. We came from a dark and long military era, and in this "democracy", have once again brought back the same military men we were protesting against, and we are happy because there is change |
Unfortunately, the militants feel cheated aggrieved and denied. The smart thing to do is dialogue and negotiation and inclusion in governance. APC need to give these guys a sense of belonging. I'd respond to the above quote from a member of this thread by saying though correct, it is likely to be the opposite because we the so-called leaders of the black race are not at all serious. I think Lugard's girlfriend that gave us the name we STILL answer without shame, and her dude knew that Nigeria would always amount to what it is today. People wanted change- that is fine with me, but have been so colonialized, CNN/FOX NEWS-ized/ Al-Jazeera-ized/ Yahoo entertainment 5 things this and that-zied/ Naija -idolized/ My pastor my pastorized/ militarized/ that they decided to support a former dictator from the 1980s to lead them in this 2015 time. So to all the African boys in khaki and at the barracks, it makes sense to topple any government and draw up boundaries of states (even calling them childish names like Rock state abi Plateau, Water state abu Rivers) jail anybody anyhow, expel people anyhow, and subjugate people to who you want as political parties and candidates, because if it goes on long enough, they would ask you back like they did ABACHA, IBB, Obasanjo, and now Buhari to rule them, even if its 2 or 3 decades later And if you don't like that, then become a militant so you can kill and kidnap folks and make the government unstable a bit. Then you'll be granted amnesty and possibly bring those from your religious/ ethnic background back in power. Easy I think |
leke12:Has this taken Nigeria pass common UAE that today our boys are spending their 2 month salary in clubs and vacation? Has this brought steady light since 1966 that Gowon and his homeboys plunged Nigeria into an enslaved state to Britain? I guess it doesn't matter because our people don't have liver, and so as it be, our cross-carpeting politicians that today they are in PDP, then ANPP, then AD, then APGA, then PPA, then APC, and all nonsense |
Where's the brilliance? Reminds me of 1985 all over again. You folks have low standards |
sambos994:Ok so what? So if GEJ handed over to a goat you'll be rationalizing this same statement? We are still like school children when the world has since graduated with advanced degrees in common sense. You don't for the sake of change pour water into you gas tank because the car hadn't been running well that week, and be high-fiving your neighbors because the gas attendant "allowed" you to do so |
What is it with senate president position? That position is talked about as if it is going to bring federal presence in the East. What did David Mark do with it except travel to GERMANY for medical checkup? |
[quote This guy will soon know how devastating the might of our military can be under the command of a very competent C-in-C, should he try any nonsense. In his own fair world, we should have allowed Jonathan to continue to rule us unopposed or better still, not have any election despite his glaring incompetence to lead effectively and efficiently. Make we sha manage am anyhow e be This stuupid man should tell us how it was possible for GEJ to ever become a president without the support of the North and SW that he's now castigating. The oil you guys keep harping on belongs to Nigeria as a whole. The fact that it is found in your region is the reason you get lion share from the proceeds. Also, before oil, Nigeria was financed from the proceeds of other commodities found in the North and the SW. So save the crap and behave yourselves.]
This is one of those "feel good" statements that hold no water at the end of the day. First and foremost, the Nigerian military has never, and I repeat, never been among the top ten in the world, as it is designed to police the people entrapped in the British colony, and occasionally European interest in Africa. The oil in the Niger-Delta does not belong to Nigeria as a whole, but Western multi-national companies, who will support a goat as HOS if need be to procure the oil without too much wahala. The oil divide does not even rest in majority with the "Niger-Delta", as states, lgas, (bogus) population figures, government positions, etc, dictate how much is allocated where it may, and that favors those favored by the colonial masters and that's that. So please, lets be serious in our thinking African people |
Perhaps said already, but it is not hate for Yorubas by everyone in the South, but disappointment. Why, I don't know, because Yoruba will always do whats in their interest first and foremost, as witnessed in the last election. They can't be doing southern solidarity if that means Airports in Port Harcourt and Enugu may overtake the one in Lagos during another 4 years of GEJ. They can't be doing southern solidarity if the East may get another state, additional positions in the military, banking, etc. No, I m not saying GEJ did as much in his first term, or the PDP governors ( like Theo Orji), but in 9ja, Yorubas and the Northerners do whats in their interest-no matter how controversial, and the rest is history. Not necessarily a bad thing |
LOL^^^ |
Its "change" man, get with the program. We can't do a real revolution like other countries and people that today we copy their hairstyles and phoney from, but can EARNESTLY ASK FOR ABACHA, abi BUHARI from 1984 era to rule us again, just like OBJ from 1979 coming back in 1999. That means that all those illegal military governments made sense in the first place because people can't have and see real leadership, and can only make use of the militarized mindset that they refuse to rid themselves of. |
ESHOIZA:This is why our country is still very local and cannot be taken seriously. You'd think people would say and want APC to do everything possible to ensure good government, transparency, equality, jobs, security, etc., but no, they must REMAIN IN POWER for AT LEAST 16 YEARS. Bros why nah? |
I think a very positive step would be to do away with the so-called South East and South South stupid terms. The West is the West and the Northerners are Northerners. Simply stating the East, (even with Delta/Igbanke) and there you have it, because truly, that is what the other two zones know it as |
So pretty much we have shown the whole world that we are indeed Ni.gers. We spent nearly our entire statehood under the dictatorship of quacks pretending to be "President/HOS" and tried to fight for democracy. Yet, in the last 16 years or so, we have made childish and amateur excuses to allow the same men we protested against to come back and RULE our African inferior minds, all thinking it is "change". This is why there can never be progress when the military guys responsible for the mess and architects of these "transitions" are still leading us, even in suit and tie. |
Its very apparent that there is no southern unity in the country. There's no point to have elections and even this "democracy" if people are going to support the same military khaki boys that we fought for democracy against |
stepone:Lets not behave local here. This is not a matter of SS betraying SE or South betraying GEJ. This is Nigeria, where not only the strong, but smart survive. Rochas' main reasoning for leaving APGA as he said in an interview available on Youtube, was that APGA was "just" a regional party. Well regional parties are the backbone for national power anywhere anytime. And even so, I can't fault him completely, especially when dealing with a semi-illiterate chairman called Umeh who is doing 4 year terms as chairman as if he's HOS. In PDP, there are nothing but thugs parading themselves as governor and senator (i.e, Theo Orji) and yet no outcry or strong demands to oust his likes, like you are seeing with the huge rallies in the north for sharia, Buhari, and even the support for Boko Haram. The southwest as as usual voted en bloc for the common sense party (one which ensures their continual role in Naija as property owners, industry, ports ownerships, etc.) So again, its more than just SS betraying SE |
^^^ The party becoming irrelevant has nothing to do with Obi leaving or not. The moment Victor Umeh and co schemed to take over from Chekwas signaled the end of what could have been a strong party. |
Its more than just going out to vote, even though I know many Igbo and even Bini friends that proudly boasted that they didn't have time to go and get "killed" because of election. Igbo leaders and people are and have continue to be daft when it comes to national politics in Nigeria. Look at how they handled the senate president position- horrible, with about 6 or so senate presidents emerging in 6 years. Look at the Ministries they have held, including aviation- from kea Chikwe down the ladder, yet no airport in the entire East is considered world class. See the talk on state creation- over 20 proposals and bickering do to greedy men scheming to make money, even though it was obvious to create Anioma state. In todays PDP they have no relevant position, in APC no relevant position, and in APGA, the greedy and foolish Umeh who overstayed has pretty much destroyed the party. So currently, National politicks is a matter of Hausa-Fulani vs Yoruba, because those folks know the importance of being a majority in a minority party than minority in majority party. |
He needs to be arrested for the continual deceit of the people and his private jets sold with proceeds going to widows of soldiers killed by Boko Haram |
We need to rid ourselves of all these imported religions that we are carrying on our head. Meanwhile those who brought all of these books, have since developed their land, yet for 9ja, we are mum |
So is he President that he should leave Imo state election and be campaigning in another state? |
Just look at the background in that picture. Is that in Abia state because I know for 16 years,t hat state has been in darkness and no Aba women riot has happened. |
Its good he wore native to an event that celebrates Africans. Native can be worn at anytime and any occasion, especially if you are an African. All those our actresses wearing wigs and putting on imitation dresses of Oyibos at Grammy's and people pressing "like" should check themselves. We already can copy copy the West and Arabs (i.e. Boo Haram idiots) but why not copy nation building like those that we copy. They paid the price, and today their children are considered the "model" of beauty, fashion, even soccer (i.e. EPL that tuna dry run mouth over) |
