Hi Merrymum,

Thank you. Yes, we use abcmouse.com. It is one of our resources. Actually, before even starting, we did an assessment on there to determine the areas we needed extra work in. Also, we downloaded the app on my son's ipad and he loves it so

Anyway, back to abcmouse.com, based on the assessment, we were recommended certain lessons. We will reintroduce the ipad and incorporate those lessons into his curriculum, maybe in 2 weeks time. Today, he didn't even ask for his ipad, so we are making progress. Lol!

Nice!!! Good to know you find it helpful, so I'm encouraged to use it too. Thanks a lot. About weaning from the tablet, hmmm... kids these days like these gadgets too much. I fight with my small madam everyday about her watching nursery rhymes on my phone. But she almost always wins

@impish. Your blog is amazing, love reading it. About the homeschooling, have you seen abcmouse.com? It's pretty organized so you might find it helpful. I intend to 'homeschool' my 1.5 yr old for some time too hence my interest.

Thanks very much cochtrane and mamatwiny. All the very best to u too!

@Flamingo. I asked someone who just landed and they said they sent in their son's naija passport. So we ended up doing same. Sent in my daughter's naija passport even though it's stated in the application she is a US citizen. Received it stamped today.

TEECANN:
Hello House,

As a naija guy, I am very not comfortable with this WES- ECA's payment platform charges- The WESTERN UNION BUSINESS SOLUTIONS as I'm sure there should be some other better ways.

I paid for my ECA some days ago and my total fees came to CAD322 (about US$ 260.13)...I proceeded to load my Dollar mastercard to effect payment and GTBank charged me about N6,300 (I was aware about this charge upfront) whilst another charge- "OFFSHORE FOREIGN BANK CHARGE" of about N7,850 was slammed on my naira account again...

Making the total charges about N15,000 to wire just US$260.13 to WES in Canada...HABA

I cannot sustain this WESTERN UNION BUSINESS SOLUTIONS' option for other future payments I will be making....School Application fees, Professional bodies Assessment fees etc

Biko, help a bro out with OPTIONS THAT are "charges-efficient" in making payments to Canada

Thank you.
So I'm wondering how you have a DOLLAR card and being charged in naira. Are you sure you used a dollar card?

I use GTB dollar card too and didn't experience all these charges you talking about.

hmmn i am not sure its compulsory - but let others weigh in as well. my experience was with with the two passport so....
As your child is a US citizen, he/she doesn't need a visa to enter Canada. So you can upload both passport biodata pages but you won't be sending the child's passport for visa stamping when you get PPR because the child is already a citizen of a visa-free country (US). It's same with my daughter.

@winter.
We used Translation Agency of Ontario (www.taontario.ca). They charged around $50 the document we translated. They are certified and give the affidavit CIC requires. Just know that for any document you translate you MUST upload as one pdf:
1. The document in its original language
2. The translation
3. The affidavit of translation given to u by the people that translated it for u.

It took about 2 days to be ready. Just sent a mail with the document, and they prepared it and sent back to us.
Go through the site sha

Ok so i just saw a post on another thread and i thought to ask here.
For those of us that have more than one employment reference did you notice the order wasnt stated? As in the chexklist just shows employment 1, 2, 3 etc. I just discovered now that upon submission it actually shows which documents should be uploaded; the submitted doc list actually listed the employment record with specific job titles...
I definitely got them mixed up. Any thing to worry about? Any idea how to go about this??
I noticed this too but I don't think it matters. I mixed it up too. It's not like one uploaded one reference in both holders instead of two. Sha, I'm at BG NA stage (that's after IP1) , so I think all is well.

@ajifixing.
Not sure if I understand what you mean by how long ago, but CIC states you can get point for any work experience within the last 10 years. So you need to check when exactly in 2007 you are claiming for as we are in the 10th year (2017), hope you get what I mean.

As for different roles, I don't see anything wrong with that as long as you get reference letters stating the job description for any one of them you wish to use. I am using two completely different jobs (banking and field engineer) from different organizations, how much more your roles in same bank.

thanks for your reply. someone told me today he was charged extra 20k by UNN to confirm WES verification. ie aside the 35k UNN charges for transcript, he had to pay another 20k when it was time for verification. Was this the same with you?
We didn't pay that much. It was like 7k or 9k, can't remember.

please who has evaluated a University of Nigeria transcript (UNN) using WES? I would like to know how long it took UNN to confirm WES verification. Thanks
I used WES for UNN. The verification took like 2 weeks after WES confirmed they had received the transcript. Though I wasn't very knowledgeable about the process when I applied to WES, it took 3 months from the day I applied to WES till ECA was ready mostly because the transcript took quite a long time before it was sent.

A bit frustrated bro, i ordered gcms notes on may 12 and received 2 days ago, and application shows approved, but ppr is no where to be found. I am 3 weeks old on ip2. Schedule A/travel history request for me was on March 8.(36 days after AOR) March 20(updated pof) March 21(proof of relationship , relationship pixes, IMM008 form e.t.c)
Please also check your spam mail because I just read a post someone put now on FB about how his PPR mail had been in his spam folder since the 9th of June and only saw it today.
