Police? Na wao. After boko haram sacked them in north east ? They should keep quiet and allow military to talk. Nobody takes them serious |
Why create a petition? Go ahead and form a party, nobody is stopping you. Our youths are even more corrupted that our parents. They have perfected fraud and deceit. |
Must be related to recent accusations on former President Jonathan. Abdulsalam, the peace broker will likely be advising Buhari against going after Jonathan in the spirit of goodwill. It's up to buhari. Economy is dying, he can finally decide to murder it completely or at least continue with present hardship and excessive tax on poor, powerless citizens. Unfortunately, SS / SE oil production account for more than 97% oil production in Nigeria. If communities revolt, it'll no longer be avengers. You get something worse, they can decide to stop production in their communities indefinitely, and FG can do nothing. Ogoni has been doing that, and nothing has happened. |
Southern Nigeria always excelling. The two great tribes always in habit of bashing themselves repping us well. How great would it be if they can sincerely work together even for once? |
This Laura of a girl must be dating seun or one of his mods. |
Robbing already stressed out citizens through tax to fund your fraudulent projects, padded budgets and fat salaries. Worst government in Nigeria history |
Our boys tried. Kudos |
Only solution is entrepreneurship and innovation. Think of offering services people will always need. |
Kind of projects we need, not useless oil exploration in the north. |
I'm not ipob neither am I Kanu's fan. However, I consider this a ploy to dishearten Kanu followers. The same way they balkanized Igbo land by separating them from their kins, creating a state with them in Delta, and Rivers with other tribes. It worked for them. Ikwere, Etche, Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni of Rivers state do not consider themselves Igbo, even though they are. Same goes with some Anioma people. Don't fall for this trap by MEND. They can join Nigeria if they so wish, Igbos are independent and enterprising. |
1. Buhari should as a matter of urgency make lasting peace with niger delta. He should ascent to their demands. 97% of our dollar earnings come from crude sells. Low oil prices coupled with low output is seriously crippling the economy. We are currently an import dependent nation. Inflation will continue to rise if nothing is done to address niger delta crisis. 2. Let local councils start being independent. Allocation sharing is so wrong. I would suggest each local government be sponsored to invest in business in partnership with private sector if possible. Each Council will survive through own businesses(managed by private companies) and taxes from commercial activities within their domain. LGs with large expanse of land can go into large scale farming eg rice, beans, etc. Instead of giving them allocation, sponsor these projects. Some can enter into small scale manufacturing like shoe making, clothing. The list is endless. Whatever they generate will fund the council. 3.Completely deregulate electricity. The truth is that 1MW generation doesn't need licensing. States could build mini industrial parks with 1MW 24 hrs power. This will improve productivity. 1MW is small, but it's better than nothing. That apart, community electricity projects will reduce load on national grid. If electricity becomes truly deregulated, small players can bring in small power plants to power communities. So far they are sure to get ROI. 4. Modular refineries. While we wait for mega refineries eg dangote, eleme, warri and kaduna, I think each state should as a matter of urgency sponsor modular refineries of between 10-50000 bpd . These could be fed with crude tankers as against pipelines vulnerable to vandalism. It will reduce our dependence on imported petrol. We save a lot of forex on this. Government can even subsidize PMS without breaking their neck. Each of these modular refineries could cost anywhere between $5M to ~ $50M in the absence of padding. We can do this as a start. Recovery is great. You have more dollar at your disposal while creating thousands of jobs for your citizens!!! When we import PMS, we use hard currency and at the same time creating jobs for foreigners refining for us! Some would say modular refineries are not very efficient. It doesn't matter, it's a lot better than importing. You create jobs and reduce dollar expenditures in importing. If Buhari doesn't make a turnaround now, next 3yrs of his tenure will be horrible. |
Mynd44:I get your point, however, these are IDPs. If I as an individual offer them any services, I don't expect anything in return from them. They are assumed jobless. What they did is laudable, but the "free" word is not needed. It's like saying "I gave or donated food stuff to IDPs for free. Doesn't sound right. my personal opinion |
Why use the word "free"? Were they expecting them to pay for surgery before? Are they not paid by government to discharge duties when called upon? When government does its responsibilities to her citizens, it becomes a favor. |
When you guys were shouting sai buhari, didn't you know that buhari was never a democrat? Everyone is starting to experience the change, both 5% and 97%. 5% are gradually moving on, it's pay time for 97%.Embrace the change while it lasts! |
Even if we gave you GEJ's years, you would have murdered it with bad policies. Foreign investors would still run away long before oil glut. Nigeria may have been in a worse shape like Venezuela. Buhari's free food, Subsidy etc original ideas stems from socialist ideas which would have worsened the situation |
It's a pity, we have leaders that refused to think. It's unfortunate, they are not smart, they should have seen this coming and plan accordingly. Military intervention takes time and will worsen the situation. Now oil prices are low, regions should be gradually weaned from oil. Why not grant ND their request of more resource control? Have a frank talk with them, have a time line to gradually heed their request. 60-40 is not a bad deal. Regions pay 40% tax to federal account on natural resources, be it oil, coal, minerals etc. Though you can't give them 60% suddenly, hunger may kill other regions off. That's why you need a frank talk with niger delta. Current 13% can be Instantly jacked up to 20%, and subsequently increased by 10% yearly until 60% mark is achieved. This will give other regions time to adjust and seek other sources of income. I'm sure our ND brothers will accept this term wholeheartedly. At the end of four years, nobody will be dependent on ND oil. They can afford to either develop or impoverish their land. The whole South want restructuring. Yoruba, Igbo, SS. Even middle belt is in game. Two northern regions can't hold the whole country to ransom. He that has ear, let him hear. This is for the good of all PS : this money should not be made available completely to governors. A percentage goes directly to communities. We make governors demigods by entrusting them with community funds. This way noone feels cheated or blame others for lack of development |
That's one stark difference between Islam and Christianity. While we teach forgiveness, pray and love your enemies, Islam teaches revenge, death to enemy etc. You see them easily burning American flag, a perceived arch enemy. Christian teaching restrains Christians, even the non serious ones. If Muslims can only teach love for enemies, there would be peace in the world. |
DickDastardly:you're a clown |
Expect free fall of naira |
Quota system doctors. |
How much oil are you looking at? Daily production won't be enough for kaduna refinery and you are talking about exporting? Not even sure they would hit anything near commercial quantity. Architecture of Chad basin shows that our Chad neighbors are more advantaged. |
For N40K, you end someone's life, $100? Unbelievable. Criminals are lowlives. |
Adeoba10:And who are you to judge her? She's a minor, if anyone should be punished, it should be the molester / pedophile. |

Available bandwidth is more important than the platform. You can have 4G LTE framework without having enough bandwidth available, the quality of service will still be crappie. They should fine-tune their 3G service which is presently not optimal. Good development anyway. |
futurenix:it's disheartening. Nigerians are dying daily due to hardship, they are not worried. |
God will see us through. We've been through worse in the 90s. We'll live, not just survive |
Hardship in Nigeria is real. Guys trying to survive anyhow. It's unfortunate |
How much more stupid can a people be? People complain about ISIS, boko haram. But sharia is a government sponsored terrorism. Islam as a religion should either get reformed or banned. I stand with Trump on this. |
This below happens when you argue with an illiterate. erico2k2:Guyman02: Some people will never agree to understand the difference, even if you simplify it as 1+1. |
modelmike7:thanks. I have suspects but I don't want them to arrest random bad guys who will disturb me later. If they were willing to question, not arrest some of them. I have a prominent suspect, but it will require following him under cover to recover the stuff not arresting without evidence |
