Also, present us with road networks in Eko Atlantic. In what ways will using roads in that city be different than other roads in general Lagos. If youve already covered that I missed it, please share link.

Five Cowries Creek Bridge links Ikoyi (Falomo) to Lekki, and VI, its still rated at an inner bridge because it only connects two communities. Though its an old bridge but its not a major bridge in Lagos.
All bridges in Lagos that carry traffic across waters are "major".

Lagos is predominantly water, so getting from one community to another will be a disaster in modern times without these bridges.

Consider what would result if Five Cowries Creek is shut down the whole day during business week.

Onikan bridge is also major for same reason, even though its rickety from age and neglect.

the prince went to Portugal as an ambassador and whether or not the art of seafaring was reserved for thoes of lower rank...Orhugubha saw this as something lacking in his own country and returned with this .....if you know Benin history well u will recall that Oba Esigie the Oba before Orhugbua was obsessed with the European culture and imposed it on the people even building churches all over Benin his reforms prompted the travel of Orhugbua to learn the acts of the Portuguese.....this acts of Esigie led to the removal of that stigma of a Benin man going out to learn from the whites.....Because if Esigie could favour Christianity over the cultural idolatry then seafaring is quite a small matter........Orhugbua after becoming the Oba gave up Christianity... But held tightly to Seafaring....infact bro...it is well stated that Orhugbua was one of the first to really break that traditional of leaving the palace because he was always at sea.....and hilariouras as it sounds if you think its demeaning to say that the Oba did this.....don't query me because its the truth and I don't see why an art that led to the conquest of territories for Benin should be a thing of shame......or better still find a way to argue this with UmOgun NOba
And one more thing sir...common sense will tell u that even at the Orhugbua time at sea he was still greatly revered and well attended to ......don't forget that Orhugbua was exposed to white culture and might have been much more liberal in his dealings with his people.......An example was How Orhugbua refused to pronounce the death penalty on some offenders when he had the power to ...but instead subjected them to labour....so don't give me that talk of not respecting the Benin throne... Because even as a christian I still respect my culture and the throne as long as it doesn't coincides with my beliefs....

Oba ghator kpieeee!!!
I read what you wrote. This is how slaves think!

The pictures were taken on 2 different days.
When law enforcement is trying to identify a criminal caught on video robbing, they will use picture profiles to positively match him. Afterward they will release a clear shot of the person they are looking for.

The "wanted" picture is never the same one caught on camera at scene of crime.

Nonetheless it serves as a good identification of subject.

Thats what we have here in the case of this DSS criminal. His profile picture does not need to be same as that caught on camera where he carried out his crime.

Mr Abayomi said that government would not relent in its efforts at stopping the inherent dangers associated with the operations of unlicensed pharmaceutical outlets and drug shops.

the affected stores were situated at Abule Egba, Alagbado, Kola, Meiran, Ekoro and Oko-Oba, all in Ifako Ijaiye and Alimosho Local Government areas of Lagos respectively.

The enforcement was effected by the State Taskforce on Counterfeit, Fake Drugs and Unwholesome Processed Foods, in collaboration with the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC).

I guess that is not true. Why not ask or dig deep first into the army's official histroy or archive on documentations about his commission?

"..In 2002, he breathed his last, but not before he was able to prove at the Army Headquarters, with documented evidence, his primacy in the officer corps..."

This is even totally needless as the Nigerian Army ought to have official records about his stinct while he served. The same army have documented records of northerner who didn't merit commissioning but were nevertheless granted same because of ethical/regional consideration e.g.Martin Adamu, Sanni Abacha, Bukar Sukar Dimka etc
Is it possible that this man could be reinstated, post-mortem?

Approach Buratai with such request.

Here, there is no available records to put him ahead of Bassey. When such records are available we will put Ugboma where the record places him.

My concern with last post is that ordinarily on matters like this just word alone should suffice to vouch for the honor and service of Ugboma. His kinsmen, over the years, and using false and forged claims have attempted unsuccessfully to bamboozle and give mark authenticity to achievements that did not at all earn or deserve it.

Their words alone are no longer acceptable...it must be accompanied with independently verifiable records.

Legend,
Imagine the number of bright minded and naturally gifted children that the North have lost to the almajiri tradition. Children who never became anything because their natural path was redirected to pan handling instead of skills or knowledge acquisition. They never had the support to unlock the magic within their spirit.

When a person unlocks from within their capabilities rise to the surface and they become contributing agents to community and to society...advancing humanity.

Not only has North robbed these children but in addition they have cheated humanity from witnessing new ideas for evolution.

This is done in name of religion and Arab customs.

Meanwhile Arabs dont have almajiris. They fund scholarship programs and enroll their children in universities in US, UK, Germany, France, Spain, Netherlands, Austria....and so on.

Imagine how fast Dubai is competing with London and New York and Paris for tourists and economy. Has this made them unbelievers? No!

I sincerely wish our Northern brothers can listen to Emir Sanusi and go back to living as Africans and embrace modernity....instead of living life of an Arab wannabe and destroying young lives that are in need of support and nourishment.

All the Pharoah stories in both the Quran and Bible are fake.

The authors of the Quran used the ancient Palestinian trick of typology; they made use of euhemerism.

Euhemerism is an approach to the interpretation of mythology in whicj mythological accounts are presumed to have originated from real historical events or personages.

The authors of the Quran euhemirised their characters into the ancient Egypt scenario.

State one of such story that you think to be real and let me proof to you with histories analytical and visual evidence that they were fabricated.
The same story of Pharaoh in Quran is found in Bible and in Jewish traditions.

Are you saying they are all wrong?

Louis Ugboma, a native of Ozubulu in Anambra state was commissioned into what was then called West African Frontieer Force(WAFF). This was the the general name the British gave to all its Army in all its colonial territories in West Africa. Louis Ugboma was the first person from the British colony of Nigeria to become an officer. However, Ugboma did not stay long in (WAFF) and left before the Nigerian wing of WAFF became known as the "Nigerian Army". That's the second Nigerian to be commissioned an officer in WAFF, Wellington Bassey, was given the Army number (N1).

Ugboma went to his village of Ozubulu and became a teacher.

But he deserves a footnote in Nigerian Military History because it was him that recommended that the next 3 guys after him, Bassey, Ironsi and Ademulegun, be sent abroad for Officer course.
Three years ago I wouldnt bother about source.

Ive been burnt by too many fabricated and phantom stories put forward by Ibos, and lesson has taught me to begin validating before accepting the subject as truthful.

Its nothing against Ugboma....his people have not done right in treating archived records with virtues.

I won’t accept that all the storyline is the Quran are fabricated, that’s just not right.

Both Abrahamic religion are just like history books with some laws for the people to follow. You should know those books will contain the historical narrative of the past. That the history was first made mention in the Bible dosen’t invalidate the Quran.

For instance, the story of pharaoh is not a story of Christianity, it is a story of history and all those historical books will reference it. It’s absurd for anyone to claim other stories are duplicated or fabricated coz they are all pointing to the same source.

My own grouse with Saudi as a Muslim is that they are foolishly trying to follow the doctrine of centuries past and they are dogmatic in accepting that the world has changed and you have to reform some ideology.

Abi how do you explain the fact that some people are still foolishly implementing the archaic shariah law in this age and time?

They worship whatever Arab say worship. By time you pronounce the word sef your mouth go fill with phlegm forced up from the throat. grin

Listen to this indoctrination from Arabs....

It is "zhahrikh" to shelter boys and girls under same shelter. Allah has said those parents who put their sons and daughters together have sinned and are guilty of "ahaq". On day of judgement they shall enter fire!

If Arab put that out Sokoto would send sheiks and hisbah out to flog parents caught doing "ahaq". Nigerian muslims will then begin separating their sons and daughters to be God obedient. Prof Akintola will then begin harassing governors calling on them to use state fund to provide muslim parents with two houses...one for boys the other for girls.

Pikins that both came from the same womb fa. grin

....and oga ....don't give me the impression that you are an immature preteen who cannot discuss about educative matters without abusing a fellow..I did not say anything to warrant insults from u so pls respect yourself.
Orogbhua going to Portugal or Spain for training is nothing unique.

King Eshilokun sent Oshodi, his slave, to Portugal to learn trade and the language. King Kosoko had three of his children in an academy in Brazil. A young prince of Oyo who led war against Dahomey and became prisoner of war was mistakenly sold off with slaves to Bahia. When the error was discovered he was accorded privileges and enrolled in school in Brazil.

There is nothing unique in a king or prince, or as in the case of a slave, Oshodi, taking studies in Portugal or Spain or acting as an Ambassador for the seat of power back home.

What is strange in your story is that a royal prince voluntarily took to seafaring.

If Orogbuha was a prince at the time it must have been in 1500s.

In 1500, do you know the class of people normally recruited into seafaring? That will be the equivalent of people like M.C.Oluomo today. Risk takers and bullies willing to face off with pirates. Are you saying the future king of Bini voluntarily went into a trade reserved for artisans? Such ranks are below his Priests, below his Chiefs, below his Warriors.

When you see materials on a subject, you have the discretion to evaluate its value, however much it sounds in sweetness.

Im sure it is sweet to say Bini King went abroad and he went on a boat....and the journey impressed his mind that he commissioned sailors to train his men how to steer and operate canoes. This would make sense.

But when you put the future king in same class doing same class of work that, sometimes, felons are recruited to do....you commit great blasphemy against the nobility of Bini King.

Watch yourself!

tunjijones:
The Nigerian Armed Forces prides itself as the fourth largest on the African continent (after South Africa, Egypt and Ethiopia) and it is the dream of many Nigerian youths to join one of its arms someday. The Nigerian Army is the largest component of the Nigerian Armed Forces and today we are going to take a look at the very first five Nigerians commissioned into the Nigerian Army with a little historical background:

The Nigeria Regiment was formed throughout the First and Second World Wars and throughout this period, not a single Nigerian was commissioned as an officer in the Regiment. But that was not to last because with time, the agitations for independence after the Second World War which in ended in 1945 from British rule by the Nigerian nationalists increased, the Colonial Office saw that it was pointless delaying the formation of a proper Army. The colonialists put things in place to prepare the Army for the inevitable and eventual takeover of command and leadership by a Nigerian Officer Corps. The most brilliant and few outstanding non-commissioned officers (NCOs) with shiny educational backgrounds who were already serving in the technical departments of the Nigeria Regiment as Ordnance, Engineers and Signals, were sent to Eaton Hall Officer Cadet School for Officer Training. When they successfully completed the course, they were granted Short Service Commission. These were the first five:

1. LIEUTENANT LAUD (LOUIS) VICTOR UGBOMA: In 1948, Ugboma made history as the first Nigerian to be granted Short Service Commission thus becoming the very first commissioned officer of the Nigerian Army. Four more NCOs were to follow him. By 1953, Ugboma had left the Regiment with some reports indicating he was actually booted out for his nationalist passions. That explains why even though Ugboma was the first Nigerian to be commissioned; the N/1 tag went to Bassey. Ugboma was not in the service of the military when Nigeria became independent in 1960 so the honour went to Bassey automatically. Born in Ogbaru, Anambra State, he initially trained as teacher. On the 28th of August, 1948, he received emergency commission into the army becoming the first Nigerian-born infantry officer. He was said to be quite instrumental to the commissioning of other Nigerians. In April 1953, Ugboma relinquished his commission and returned to his former job as a teacher at the Zixton Grammar School at Ozubulu. In 2002, he breathed his last, but not before he was able to prove at the Army Headquarters, with documented evidence, his primacy in the officer corps.

2.LIEUTENANT WELLINGTON DUKE BASSEY (N/1): An Efik from Cross River State (now Akwa Ibom) who joined the army in 1936, he was commissioned lieutenant on the 30th of April, 1949 thus becoming Nigeria’s first indigenous officer. When Ugboma resigned, it meant that Bassey became the most senior Army number in the Nigeria Regiment. Now late, he would later be known as Brigadier WU Bassey. Camp WU Bassey and the Wellington Bassey Way in Uyo are named after him.

3. LIEUTENANT JOHNSON THOMAS UMUNNAKWE AGUIYI-IRONSI (N/2): He was commissioned lieutenant on 12th of June 1949 and would later become the first military head of state in Nigeria. He was assassinated in a coup in July 1966.

4. LIEUTENANT SAMUEL ADESOJI ADEMULEGUN (N/3):[/b] Like Aguiyi-Ironsi, Ademulegun was commissioned a lieutenant on 12th of June 1949. He was killed alongside his pregnant wife by Kaduna Nzeogwu in the country’s first military coup in January 1966.
Where did you read that Ugboma was first commissioned officer? Please share the source.
