wsaying.why are they writing such letter to US Authority, for what?

Ipob has right to agitate whatever suits their fancy. Their proscription by Nigeria is a political vendetta, first requested by the authors of Kaduna Declaration and then given complicit support by Igbo leaders who sought and obtained from FG a legal approval for the ban.

Ipob will fail the terrorism test. They are a danger to society but do not qualify as terrorists.... I dont see purpose of the letter. I believe the FBI-80 has began to manifest in some of the backlash and impacts already feared would follow.

Here is article on executions at kirikiri.

Bodies dumped at sea in kirikiri will never wash to bar beach. Lailai!

They were the first Nigerians executed under Decree 20 of the military regime that launched a crackdown on crime and corruption after it seized power in a coup Dec. 31, 1983.

The decree makes drug handling and illegal oil trafficking punishable by death.

Bartholomew Azubike Owoh, 26, a former employee of Nigeria Airways, Lawal Akanni Ojuolape, 30, a spare parts dealer, and Bernard Ogedengbe, a 29-year-old sailor, were condemned separately by a military tribunal last December and the sentences were confirmed by the government.

A woman, Gladys Iyama, 34, also is under sentence of death for possessing 15.3 grams of cocaine but the government has not yet given its final decision although it has said women convicts would be treated the same as men.

Witnesses at the execution outside the maximum security Kirikiri prison in a Lagos suburb said the condemned men were tied to a stake and shot to death by a firing squad from the Nigerian Army's 9th Mechanized Brigade.

The executions started at 8:30 a.m. and were over 5 minutes later when the bodies were loaded into rough coffins and driven away. It was not clear if the authorities would surrender the bodies to their families for burial.

Nigerian reporters said they were allowed to talk to the condemned men shortly before the execution but said only Ojuolape, who has four children, and was convicted of possessing 1.238 kilograms of cocaine, expressed remorse.

'I am eating the fruit of my misdeed ... It was my first time out on the cocaine business but I was caught,' he was reported as saying.

Ogedengbe, caught with 207 grams of heroin in a detergent packet on arrival at Lagos airport from India, claimed, 'I was not convicted beyond all reasonable doubt. God giveth life and he taketh,' according to the reports.

Owoh, who was caught with heroin on his return from Brazil, protested he committed the offense before the military made drug handling a capital offense and had been given provisional liberty by the police.

'It has happened but I pray to God to forgive this people (the military regime). If I knew I would die for the offense I could have left the country after I was first given police bail,' he was quoted as saying.

Liar!

Where public executions carried out in Bar beach during Buhari's disastrous tyrannical military regime, yes or no?

2. The bodies will be ferried on speed boats a couple of miles off the coast and dumped at sea.

This was how they disposed of the corpses.

3. Even this tradition continued even up till IBB with the execution of Vatsa. That will be the last time bar beach served as execution ground.

You can twist and lie about this fact, but guess what facts are facts and nothing you say can change the fact nor history to suit your lying agenda.

How can you even claim that condemned inmates were taking to their homes and executed leaving the body for the relatives?

Does this make any sense?

I cant take your word for bodies dumped at sea. Where is corroborating article to back that claim?

Ibo people agitating for a federal statute for a development commission should learn from this.

A federally funded development corporation is good for regions that welcome and thrive in diversity. They wouldnt have problem seeing their commission composed of people of different origin and background. Ibo people do not welcome diversity in SE. As such a federal development commission will aggravate and stress you unecessarily because you have no control over a Yorubaman or Hausaman becoming Chairman of the commission.

For this reason your leaders should abandon their lamentation for a development xommission from Senate and start putting heads together to develop a home-grown commission to your taste and that you control.

This is your test at self-development. Lets see how good you are.

Here is what you said.... Which is false ALL OVER because in another post you said execution at bar beach had been going on since 71....at which time Buhari was not even a Head of State.

Buhari turned the tourist bar beach into an execution ground where prisoners were lined up tied behind oil barrels and shot by firing squad of soldiers.

Buhari's choice of getting rid of the bodies of executed prisoners was to pile them up on speeds boat and dump them into the Atlantic. A few days later, the corpses will wash ashore to the horror of beach goers.

We stopped our weekend trips to bar beach during Buhari's tenure and since then bar beach never got its tourist reputation back.

See this liar attempting to change mouth.

First you denied there was any public executions being carried out on bar beach now you have switched to attacking the claim that the bodies were dumped on the high seas which is a fact.

Even Vatsa's corpses after being executed was dumped on the high sea alongside his fellow conspirators.

FYI, I grew up in VI and I know that corpse washing ashore is a regular thing.

During Buhari's disastrous military rule, the issue of the corpses of executed people was so alarming that the beach lost its glory as a tourist site.

Being a Yoruba from Osogbo does not make you any wiser or informed on public executions carried out in bar beach

Zamfara State Police commissioner, Usmam Nagogo, has said that repentant bandits in the state have now resorted to fighting those, who are not ready to follow the path of peace.

Briefing newsmen today in his office, the police commissioner said, “The trust we built have started to bring positive results because the bandits have so much trust in the process and are now becoming our eyes and ears in the forest”.

Public executions at bar beach began as early as in 1971!

Oyenisi, was th first high profile criminal to be executed at bar beach.

For the disastrous 20mths Buhari was head of state, executions at bar beach spiked with firing squad executions carried out every first Sunday of the month.

I am not educating you but ensuring that you don't deceive somebody with your stupid lies.

Actually some people like Lawrence Anini, Monday Osunbor etc were executed on the Bar Beach! The first set of drug pushers were executed outside the Kirikiri Maximun Prison.

The military Govt at the time also made sure that some armed robbers were killed in their home towns, close to their family compounds, so as to serve as deterrents.
Not under Buhari.

The guy said Buhari did it and dumped their bodies at sea. Then bodies would frequently washed ashore that beach goers funally abandoned going to bar beach.

They dont like the way Yoruba society is diverse and united. They want by all means to break up the diversity. Fortunately it has led our leaders to realize we are unique and begin to question why Yoruba could not stand alone as an Islamic authority instead of following Sokoto. In fact this declaration is attestation to that desire.

Yoruba enjoy diversity from the home unit all the way to the public space in society.

We appreciate Governor Oyetola taking the lead and making a declaration. In times past states in SW waited on Sokoto to first declare a holiday.

When its Christmas same Governor will declare holiday for his citizens.

Yoruba lead social evolution for human history and diversity. Some others are still stuck in one way of life and their society has lagged behind in growth and progress.

Or ask people who were old enough they knew what happened during Buhari.

There were two types of people that face execution at bar beach. Armed robbers and coupists. When armed robbers are killed they are released to families waiting at the prison to receive the body.

When coupists are killed i dont know what they do with their bodies .....but no failed coup during Buhari so there were no soldiers executed at bar beach.

Go and ask well.

The body of executed inmates is state property and never released for burial to the relatives. It is the govt that disposes of the body. And usually always within the prison grounds.
Ol boy, i dont need to ask anybody. I had two uncles served and retired from federal service. One at prisons...the other started in customs and after many years transferred to prisons to join his cousin. Prison warders dont earn much but they are well compensated by families that want their inmate son or daughter to be in comfort behind bars.

Inmates condemned to death are government property but families can get the corpse if they want. Not only that, when inmates are killed clergy men are called in to pray over the body before burial. The corpse is not desecrated as done here with acid....and you are mischiebious for supporting it.

The killers wanted to humiliate the deceased, after killing them they poured acid on them. This made it impossible for family to retrieve and give decent burial.

Also, as part of the humiliation they filmed the death. Is that part of process also? Abeg stop your nonsense.

If they had been executed by prison service their bodies would never have been himiliated like that.

The hanging or acid pouring?

If it is the acid know that this was standard practice by prison officials when burying a condemned inmate. The acid is meant to accelerate decomposition as the graves are usually shallow and located on prison grounds.

This was what they did to Lawrence Anini's corpse.

Buhari on the other hand preferred to execute petty drug mules by public firing squad. Buhari turned the tourist bar beach into an execution ground where prisoners were lined up tied behind oil barrels and shot by firing squad of soldiers.

Guy small small abeg!

Stop spinning tales here. Those executed during Buharis period of military rule were drug dealers and he had a different approach to it. Any drug dealer convicted would be taken to his family house and executed and left there. The intent behind that was that family will begin to police their own members against crime, particularly illicit drugs.
